HAPPY 6 YEARS!

I find it hard to believe but…

To think I’ve been rambling in blog form here for that long!
With 5 years of archives to show for it~ Things have come and gone~ knitting blog, CUTiE site, and a shared online shop with Emm! There’s no telling what the future may hold for my happy little space on the web~~

So Moussy and Rinka had a collaborate and made a few Rinka T-shirts! They went on sale on the 14th for Valentine’s Day and when I looked at their web site last night they were already sold out (good lord~)

Rinka’s signature & kiss are on the inside of each shirt

And while on the topic of things I want but aren’t easy to get, I tweeted last week about the new Cher Spring/Summer collection book that was released! The bag is much bigger than the autumn/winter book’s but the color is quite… shocking. It’s cute, yes! In a creamsicle sort of way~~!! I wish it was the color of the cover instead BUT if I get my hands on it I’ll be toting around the bag regardless of my opinions here

Last week, after much consideration, I switched my Non-no subscription to Pinky instead. Why? …
Non-no~ I love you… but I’m not in love with you… That special spark… well, it’s gone. :F
In the past 6 months, (12 issues in Non-no’s case) I’ve been completely underwhelmed by the magazine. Even getting issues and only flipping through it once. I’ve been getting the magazine since 2004 and it had always really been true to my “core style” but not lately. Plus it seems so skint~ so many more gray pages than before, and Miho Tanaka only makes a rare appearance as they begin to put my least favorite models (*cough* Makiko *cough*) forward as the “face” of Non-no~
When I worried more about getting Pinky this month than picking up my latest issue Of Non-no I knew I needed to make a switch. I’ll still probably pick up Non-no if they continue to get it in but I feel better about having an issue of Pinky waiting on me.
I : Pinky~ I like the models (
Nozomi & Yukina and they often feature Suzanne!) and the style~ A bit like Vivi meets Non-no meets JJ And honestly cutting the subscription to Non-no cut my expenses in half too, hahah (damn bi-weekly issues!)
I would have switched to Vivi but the store tends to get in plenty extra issues so I haven’t had a problem leisurely picking up my own copy.

Before I forget~ here’s the ugly side of Valentine’s Day….

CAME UPON THIS, THIS MORNING! IT’S STEAK FOR TWO IN A HEART SHAPED CONTAINER! I just find it SO disturbing! Hahahah I mean, sure, there were 2 pretty great steaks at a decent price wrapped in there… but to take an image of something that is typically reserved for heart-shaped boxes of chocolate and replace it with raw animal carcass is a bit unsettling~~ HAHAAH THIS IS HYPE IN SUCH THE WRONG DIRECTION!

I GOT MY BALLOONS! HOPE YOU DID TOO!
HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY EVERYONE!!

Every Valentine’s Day I always ask “for the classics” when Mike asks what I want. Important in the following order:
- BALLOONS!!!! HEART SHAPES PREASE!!
- FLOWERSSSSSSS~ any will do!
- I can has chocolate??
This year all I really wanted was balloons and maybe flowers and Mike DID NOT disappoint! He even got me a little rose bush instead of a bouquet! HE KNOWS ME SO WELL!!! Since I’m confident with keeping roses now, I’m excited to see these continue to live on the way my birthday ones from my parents have! Those are currently outside though, weathering the winter freeze, so now I have some roses for indoors!!
:noki4: I also got a huge box of Godiva chocolates and he got me a glass tea pot and a crap-load of blooming teas! *spoiled*

I stuffed a few tea blossoms into the teapot haha
For Mike’s gift I made him his favorite banana bread muffins from scratch. It doesn’t sound like much but let me just point out that Mike says I have “recipe dyslexia” so me baking is a real triumph AND they turned out well! Despite me, as always, f’ing up the recipe as best as possible. ~sigh~ *so stressful cooking*

he made heart-shaped pancakes this morning
We kept things pretty low-key actually. Like usual. We never give crazy expensive gifts or make reservations at some posh restaurant. We typically stay in or go out for lunch. Tonight we did go to see a movie (Slumdog Millionaire; it was phenomenal btw) and decided to hit up a restaurant sans reservations. We actually got sat right away too even though it was super busy and nearly everyone had reservations *yay* and I even got a free rose there *awe how nice, hahah* So everything worked out lovely!
I’ve always liked Valentine’s Day. Even the years I was single~ I mean. I grew up with my Dad always getting me a little something. Usually a balloon and cinnamon candy hearts. Then there were always the friends~ we’d exchange goofy chocolate gifts and cards I like the holiday~ sure it’s commercial and makes some people feel so much unnecessary pressure. But I think if taken in the right doses and not over-hyped it’s a cute little holiday to help brighten up the slump of winter months
