Kao Heated Aromatherapy Eye Masks
Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011 | 40 Comments

I’m so in love with these.
Kao steaming warm eye masks!
(蒸気でホットアイマスク)
They’re not a new product or anything. Actually I bought a box last year for the long flight home from Tokyo. I used a few then forgot about the rest until a few months ago. :?: I used a few again for headaches then more and more I used them! Now I use about one a week. :) Usually after work for short naps or some other quiet times like before bed.
Then I saw a new “Rose” scented version was recently released!!!! I had thought before “I wish rose were a scent…” :deco1: and of course I must have not been alone! And imomoko had them in stock too! So I had to buy :ok: The rose scent is nice. It’s not too overpowering and is a Bulgarian Rose scent which is more subtle.

Chamomile and Lavender are the other two fragrances available. I purchased the chamomile version originally. It’s really soothing and probably my favorite.
Recently I tried the Lavender version thanks to Yesstyle having it in stock too! It’s also relaxing and probably a more familiar scent if you were unsure in which to try. The three scents are actually pretty similar to each other.

They sell unscented as well. I haven’t tried it because I love aromatherapy but the unscented are often cheaper in price! Haha~
When you open them up, they heat up quickly and smell so wonderful. It lasts about ~10+ minutes.

You can find these eye masks at Imomoko, Yesstyle, Sasa, and Cosmelandusa.
The commercial for this is hilarious by the way…

Heated eye mask? Rose scented? Ahhh this sounds like it would be perfect for me right now, I’m at home sick with a headache (and sore throat) :(
I hope you start feeling better. So many are sick right now.
Holy moly. I need to get my hands on some. I have the worst trouble trying to sleep with a migraine.
Ugh yeah, this relieves headaches just long enough to fall asleep.
Do they work well on headaches? I often get headaches right behind my eyes and I can’t help but wonder if the heated eyemask would help!?
Plus I rove anything rose-scented – sounds like heaven!
For me they do, especially at night. but it is only a temporary fix. The mask is warm for about 10~20 minutes and my headache will stay away for about an hour after using it.
thanks for sharing! after seeing the commercial I really want to buy it now. lol. Good commercial effect!
Hahaha the CM seemed so normal until the end xD
や〜〜ん I need to find these, anything that helps with reading-kanji-on-Excel induced headaches!
Haha you’re the ideal candidate since they show someone at their office using it on the box :D
Hee hee…I love how she’s lounging on her humongous cat! This is a must try for me. I like relaxing my eyeballs. ;)
Agreed~~ I have one of those scented eye pillows I used to use all the time.
I work at Cosmeland! Haha~ I’ve been reading your blog forever and our store sells a lot of the things that you review. I love your blog! :)
OH HOW NICE!
Looks like something i could use! Does it help with eye baggies by any chance? :P
I don’t think it does unfortunately since there’s no lotion or anything for eye appearance on the mask. But maybe it makes you look rested at least? They show the idea of using it before putting on makeup but I can’t really say if I notice a difference or not xD
Ohhhh this sounds perfect to relax after a long day of studying. The commercial made me laugh hahaha if only my cat were as big as that one. He’s soft and fluffy and would be a perfect pillow!
That sounds like a great scenario for these!
Yay for multiple day in a row blogging!! :D
These seem nice. It seems like a good thing to have around in case you’re feel extra tired/stressed or even sick… ^^b
Exactly. I use them when I have headaches.
Another wonderful invention~ I prefer putting something cold on my face when I have a headache though… o.o
Understandable. To each his own~~
hahaha! the commercial is indeed funny! sleeping on a mega cat! xD
It really surprised me haha!
oooh greattttt! I’m going to buy them! since i come from bulgaria i know and love the lovely scent of bulgarian roses. every year i buy there some creams with rose flavor and i am so much into it *-* thanks ^-^
ShuShu ♥
I’m so obsessed with rose. I think it might be slowly coming back into fashion in the US but no where near as much as other countries.
Omgosh it looks so comfy~! Do you think it will help puffy/undereye circles at all? Hmm~
I don’t really think so since I’ve never noticed a difference. It might make your eyes look more awake, maybe?
Again… THE rose scent! Anyway, the masks remind me of those heated packs for winter. What about the heat? Is it not too strong for eyes area? I mean of course they shouldn’t be since they are for it.
It’s not too strong, but you can always remove it for a few moments then reapply if it’s too warm.
*HAHA* that’s funny – I got one package from my Mum, but this was already one month ago. I didn’t have any interest in that “strange” looking thing, so I threw it in a corner, and now I searched for it and the eye mask was still there (packaged in the original wrapping *g*) xD And I noticed that it has a Chamomile scent *lol* Looks like I have to try it now ^__^
Ah that’s my favorite fragrance of the 3!
thanks for the review~!! EXACTLY what’s been missing from my nightly routine as the weather gets chillier… i snagged a pack of the rose-scented ones to try. (^-^)
You bought a pack!? FANTASTIC!! I hope you like them, let me know OK :3
thanks for the info i’m so gonna check these out
Ohh, definitely wanna try these! You always post about the most amazing products, Jenny ♥ Thanks for sharing.
since i am headache prone, i will definitely check these bad boyd out. And i loooove lavender :D
OMG I really want to try these, think I’ll add them to my Xmas Beauty wishlist (along with BB cream and several bath salts LOL).
Sometimes I wished I lived in Japan just because of their cutely funny advertising and promotions. They really do put in alot of thought when it comes to marketing and appealing to a target audience in general.
I mean, I live all the way down in New Zealand, and both my fiance and I constantly buy Japanese products here just based on the marketing we have been exposed to via the internet. (His current obsessions are the S & B stew/curry roux and everything Kirin)
True Story~ LOL.
Anyway waffle factory comment TLDR: I’m gonna try these masks!
I saw them at Haneda airport the other time when I was there for vacation! Damn. I should have bought it.
Do you feel like youre sleeping on a cats belly when you wear them??!!!! :D
Heheheheh I think they will be perfect for long plane rides~
