Just wet your face with warm water, lather it up with the soap. Wet the clarisonic a bit with warm water as well, then use the clarisonic on your lathered face. I mean yes, I could live without it, but I really love it so much, I use it every night! I use it on my body, too (with the body brush) and my skins feels really smooth. Just a wash is good. I used to use a light scrub every other day but the Clarisonic does such a good job at getting the dead skin that I've only used my scrub (with my fingers) about once every 3~4 weeks now (winter harsh winds!)
