Trying Ole Henriksen 3 Little Wonders
Wednesday July 01, 2015
Like the title says, I’m trying the Ole Henriksen 3 Little Wonders collection. I’ve gotten the C-Booster (orange bottle) before as a point perk. I didn’t see much difference at the time but this was years ago. Then Stephanie Lange recommended it and I figured there wasn’t much to lose with this mini kit being under $30.
Let me back up for a second. I’ve been underwhelmed by my usual skincare products. Honestly they hadn’t changed much since I started using Clinique’s Acne Solutions years ago. And if you recall I’ve been into trying new products recently. My acne has been different this year. It’s seemingly random and doesn’t react to my usual treatments. My skin has just been same ole same ole for a while. So if I could find a new suite of products, that actually showed results (clearer skin longer, elasticity, pore minimizing, spot reduction,) then I’d be thrilled.
So far the 2 large cyst-acne spots I had have shrank and some sun spots are fading. I’ve actually noticed my skin “looking good” a couple of mornings too! Though today I work up with a clogged pore in an area that I rarely get them. I’m suspecting the truth serum collagen booster because I’ve had mixed results with collagen skincare products and this spot is similar to that I’ve gotten from collagen masks. So, I’m going to discontinue using that product.
I’ll try to update in a week or two.

Have you tried Korean skincare? Mizon snail cream (and the face wash) are amazing. Also, Paula’s Choice is a great line. I’ve used her Resist line, and she has a Skin Balancing line for acne. The toner, of all things, was fantastic. I only stopped using it because I wanted to cut down on the number of bottles I need to travel with.

I think I actually got these products a loooong while ago — maybe a year or more in a VIB Sephora perk. While I admittedly had just been off Accutane for a few months, I noticed it did make my skin quality a bit better and felt very smooth throughout it’s usage.
I didn’t end up repurchasing it though as the price point for the full-sized products wasn’t worth the results.
Not sure how much help that is, but good luck with your go of it. :)

Oooh I can’t wait to see the update. Curious to try adding more collagen into my routine…

I literally have the WORST acne and it doesn’t help that I live in a climate that gives my old teenage hormones a run for its money. however I have been able to keep it down (huhu) lately with Lush’s Grease Lightning. They might have a different name for it in the States but I do know that they sell it! It’s vegan so there are no harsh chemicals and it’s super cheap. I got mine for like thirteen dollars (AUD ‘course) and it’s lasted me like five months.

I forgot but what do you use for acne scars? I have a lot, I’m darker in complexion and fading creams break me out. I think I’m going to try a chemical peel. I really look forward to your beauty reviews, and Madewell purchases. I tried the Dolly Wink long mascara, and it really doesn’t clump, and perfect for bottom lashes. Thanks Jenny

I have been getting hormonal acne where I always get these HUGE zits on my face whenever I am on my period. It is sooo annoying and those take like weeks to fade and go away. I have been in search for something to get rid of them but haven’t had much luck.
