Hooray! I’m missing jaw bone… :[

Sunday, 4月/22日 [2007年] // 36 Comments

So it’s 4 days later. There were no real complications with the surgery itself. However, 1 wisdom tooth was more impacted than the x-ray had shown. They ended up having to removing a lot of jaw bone. The only real side-effect of that is the extremely excruciating pain it has put me in…

Also, Vicodin sucks! Big balls!! I threw it up immediately. Which was “fun“… throwing up blood… yea, that was a fun new experience. Especially in the car ride home. And then twice more after I got home. Thankfully my doctor called to check up on me and said I could try 800mg of Motrin instead and only take the Vicodin if I’m in unbearable pain. Well, no matter the pain I never took it again. The Motrin works OK. Not great… I was/am in constant pain. But it’s getting better each day.

I still can’t close my mouth all the way (I’m unable to chew anything still!) My mouth is still swollen. Basically because of the whole bone thing I’m having to take longer to recover.

I am going to try to go to work tomorrow.

WAIIIIIIIIIIIIII my freakin’ mouth is killing me and I can’t stand it!!! It hurts to laugh, it hurts to eat, it hurts to talk, it hurts to sleep! GRRRRRRR HOW MANY MORE DAYS TILL I FEEL BETTER!? 7!? 10!? Two weeks!?

    Awe It took about a week for me to feel better. I didn’t have to take Vicodin. They sent me home with Oxycodone and 800mg Motrin. I took the Motrin because I was too scared to take Oxycodone, lol!

    Poor Jen.
    I hope the pain goes away so you won’t be so uncomfortable. Unfortunately, there’s nothing to speed up the process of healing. I do hope it doesn’t take two weeks to heal though. That’s bullocks. :

    WOW, I’m sorry they had to remove part of the jaw bone. That must’ve sucked and it seems like it did. But I’m glad the surgery went okay. I hope you recover soon. I miss talking to you. When they pulled my right tooth a few weeks ago, I wasn’t in pain anymore. Except now there’s this big gap where the tooth used to be. Sucks don’t it?

    Oh.. wisdom teeth extraction. Not good. ;;; Jen, I hope you’ll pull through this all right. My best friend’s mom went through the same thing and it was excruciating to see her struggle because I could just imagine how much it hurt her. X___X;;;

    Yikes, I don’t miss that misery! I had my wisdoms out last July. I can’t take Viccodin either so it was a toss-up between which is worse, the pain from the teeth removal or the nausea from the viccodin. I chose the pain. I hope you feel better soon! And when you do, make sure to chew a piece of gum. I noticed it was the weirdest feeling after they came out.
