Destination Wedding

So, during the weekend wedding Mike’s Mom asked us what we wanted to do for ours. Basically I told her that “in a perfect world” we would elope to Hawaii with our immediate family attending a very small ceremony and dinner. (She REALLY wants to come to Hawaii with us and is the reason we’re not eloping alone… ) Anyway, she said she was going to look into naval chapels for us in Hawaii because they are free for retired military to use.

So, Mike and I decided last night that we were going to invite our immediate family to go to Hawaii with us for our wedding after we’re settled into the new house. We had been undecided about eloping alone. I wanted to elope alone, he did not.

A ton of cheap wedding packages to choose from. We could do a small beach/garden or chapel ceremony then all go out for dinner or I could even pay a little more to have a fully organized ceremony + dinner at a nice hotel like the Royal Hawaiian. Hotel wedding packages are usually from $2,500 - $5,000. A little more than I wanted to pay, but the convenience is worth it. So we’ll see.

Basically we’re asking people to meet us in Hawaii as we elope. So there will only be about 7 - 14 people. Probably closer to 7 because our grandparents might not want to fly out.

So when I told my Mom the big wedding party was off and Hawaii was in she was joyous and ecstatic! Seriously, she just belted out a huge “THANK YOU! YES!!!!” I was actually a little surprised. Hum~ Ahahahaha

aww a beach wedding would be soo romantic ^___^ haha, my mum loves the idea of a small wedding too, she thinks it’s better to use the money for a house,

lol@ the ‘brain fart’… happy 78th month anniversary to you and mike!! (that’s a lot of months together!! )

you guys could have the wedding in hawaii and then go straight to JAPAN for honeymoon that would save some time and money instead of flying over the country and pacific twice

When we got married in Vegas it was only my immediate family (total of 12) and a close friend(along w/ her husband and daughter) who came. Well, Manuel’s brother and his wife (at the time) came but he kinda had to since he was the best man, heh~ It’s alot cheaper and less stressful that way. =P

Awwwwwee!! Congratulations! That sounds like a wonderful wedding plan! ^-^ I always thought that the base at Pearl Harbor would be a nice place for a wedding, but I don’t think it would be very cheap, haha.

Omgggggggggg I’m so excited for you! I’m going to demand pictures, you know. I need to know how pretty Hawaii is before I apply to school there. ;]

That’s cool that your mom is in with you on the elpoing thing. I know if I ever get married my entire extended family would expect to be invited, blah blah blah NO THANKS.

I’ve always been into the more “small and modest” weddings. I don’t think there is any point in inviting 200 people etc. That’s just.. “haha! I’m in love! Now give me some wedding gifts”.

    Hawaii sounds nice

A wedding in Hawaii is infinitely better than one at some lame country club or hotel.

oh yay! that sounds exciting! and i’m glad your family is supportive, a small ceremony definitely has its perks, and is totally understandable. good luck!!!

Hah! Hawaii. The most expensive place in the world practically. But it’s so nice there, it would be perfect for a wedding.

I’m so glad your family has nothing against small ceremonies, I know a family or two that would have a piss-fit if their kid didn’t do a big ol’ ceremony with every relative from every corner of the world invited.

HellO! OHH WEDDING! I hate making big deals out of things that people would normally make a big deal out of, so I agree with the small wedding. (like I hate making a big deal out of prom, graduation, stuff like that haha) anyways, I love this layout! Muy Bien!

Sometimes it’s good to avoid the stress of wedding planning. Hawaii sounds like a lovely place to have the ceremony! I wish everything goes well

That’s so awesome. I want to visit Hawaii really bad, but maybe in the down season. My mom is lucky, she’s been to Hawaii thrice.

Now that I quit work, I have time online. C:
I’ve always wanted a small wedding. Maybe without parents and relatives, nor friends. I’ve been thinking about eloping as well. But that’s for the future, maybe when I’m into my mid 20’s. Hawaii should be fun. I’m happy for you. C:
BTW, your layout is gorgeous. It finally rained where I live.
