Destination Wedding (27) 
So, during the weekend wedding Mike’s Mom asked us what we wanted to do for ours. Basically I told her that “in a perfect world” we would elope to Hawaii with our immediate family attending a very small ceremony and dinner. (She REALLY wants to come to Hawaii with us and is the reason we’re not eloping alone… ) Anyway, she said she was going to look into naval chapels for us in Hawaii because they are free for retired military to use.
So, Mike and I decided last night that we were going to invite our immediate family to go to Hawaii with us for our wedding after we’re settled into the new house. We had been undecided about eloping alone. I wanted to elope alone, he did not.
A ton of cheap wedding packages to choose from. We could do a small beach/garden or chapel ceremony then all go out for dinner or I could even pay a little more to have a fully organized ceremony + dinner at a nice hotel like the Royal Hawaiian. Hotel wedding packages are usually from $2,500 - $5,000. A little more than I wanted to pay, but the convenience is worth it. So we’ll see.
Basically we’re asking people to meet us in Hawaii as we elope. So there will only be about 7 - 14 people. Probably closer to 7 because our grandparents might not want to fly out.
So when I told my Mom the big wedding party was off and Hawaii was in she was joyous and ecstatic! Seriously, she just belted out a huge “THANK YOU! YES!!!!” I was actually a little surprised. Hum~ Ahahahaha

I’m back from PA (22)
I’m back! See, that wasn’t too long. I’ve been in Pennsylvania for the past couple of days for a wedding!! Feels good to be home now though. I had a slight bit of culture shock. There are things I’ve taken for granted living around DC. For starters, I HATED that everything wasn’t smoke free there!!! GAHHHHHHH!!! I forgot what having smoking sections in restaurants was like. ew. However, I didn’t miss a ton of ASSHOLES on the roads and the honking for no reason people. All in all the little trip has made me realize a few things…
- ELOPING IS NOT A MISTAKE
I actually thought the wedding would make me want a big wedding all over again. But on the contrary it reaffirmed my reasons/feelings for eloping! We even got thanked by family members for wanting to elope (less hassle for them! They said just being happy for us and letting them send a gift would be the GREATEST thing we could do for the family.) - I love Mike and can’t wait to be his wife
- I LOVE my life including job, location, and everyday hassles
So yea, dancing, drinking, and a bit of chaos. And I’m home in 1 piece!
Now later this week my old friend visits! I’m going to be so tired come June.
