Been wearing these 3 things lately because Valentine’s Day, February, and greaser inspiration. I picked up this faux leather coat at Zara’s on a huge sale a few months ago. It’s extremely comfortable + I sized up & up so I can wear it over thick sweaters.

Catbird’s Ghost Rose solid perfume is such a true rose smell. You can smell the sort of “green” parts of a rose in this perfume. It’s solid so it’s not very strong but it lingers on the skin. Good for applying to pressure points, you know, so when you start overheating it’ll actually smell nice ha!

I’ve noticed as I’m feeling better and better (from back pain) I didn’t really care about what I wore. Not to say I was sloppy. My closet was still whittled down and matched up enough that I looked fine. But I just didn’t care about shopping, or wearing what I “really” wanted when going out. Mostly because I didn’t go out unless I needed. I’m already starting to forget what that was like; being unable to enjoy going out. But now I have the luxury of putting thought to it. However I keep see-sawing between jeans and skirts. I’ll go on this kick of wanting only denim then suddenly I hate them and switch to skirts with fleece tights. But all-in-all I’m not really shopping much lately. I’m happy with everything I have and would only be interested in spring things now… and warmer weather to go along with it.

Though I did buy this wool coat from Madewell earlier in the month. Finally trading in my previous one of 8 years that I got from Forever 21. I had mended it so so so many times.

Hyacinth Bulbs and New Jewelry http://sushi-cat.net/2015/01/18/hyacinth-bulbs-and-new-jewelry/ http://sushi-cat.net/2015/01/18/hyacinth-bulbs-and-new-jewelry/#comments Sun, 18 Jan 2015 22:02:58 +0000 jenny http://sushi-cat.net/?p=4845 hyacinth bulbs

I finally pulled out my Olympus Pen for the first time in 2015. I haven’t used it much lately but I missed its quality when blogging back in December.

They sell these hyacinth bulbs at supermarkets right now. They’re so easy to take care of and last longer than cut flowers. I think once they’re done I’ll use the glass vases for either new bulbs or try to get an avocado seed to sprout since they’ll survive in just water.

Below are photos of a few Christmas gifts I received. They’re things from catbird.

I realize all the free time I used to have, or better, the time I used to use for blogging has shifted dramatically this year. Usually I’d blog after work, but now that’s when I cook. Or I’d blog after dinner, but now there’s usually a hockey game on that I want to catch instead.

….
I just realized this blog is still in xmas colors! I’ll need to find time for that too :’)

Summer Wardrobe http://sushi-cat.net/2014/07/25/summer-wardrobe/ http://sushi-cat.net/2014/07/25/summer-wardrobe/#comments Sat, 26 Jul 2014 01:40:10 +0000 jenny http://sushi-cat.net/?p=4739 summer capsule wardrobe

No better time to post what I’ve been wearing for summer than late July! Where many days are in the 90°’s and I’ve retreated into t-shirt heaven. Everlane’s Box Tee is still my #1 go to summer item (as it was last year.) But I have also picked up a few from Fossil’s Men’s department that are so soft and comfortable not to mention stripey.

I included the L’Occitane Angelica Hydration Cream because it has been my favorite skin care find this summer. It’s ultra cooling and makes me skin look brighter and more supple immediately. I wear it as a night cream or alone on days I go without makeup.

Some of what’s above is non-work attire. For work instead of the tees and denim I usually just wear the skirts along with other lightweight button ups that I have. I also have some black pointed flats and 2 other black skirts I tend to only wear to work.

My colors have really branched out this summer passed just navy and red. Though might have a blue tone obsession now… :)

Birthday Day http://sushi-cat.net/2014/04/06/birthday-day/ http://sushi-cat.net/2014/04/06/birthday-day/#comments Sun, 06 Apr 2014 22:57:07 +0000 jenny http://sushi-cat.net/?p=4483 Mike’s spinal surgery took place just this Thursday so I had a quiet Birthday at home today baking and calling family. I figured last year I got a tattoo so really anything pales in comparison to that! So I focused on making a pretty cake fit for any pastel mermaid delusional person.

And yesterday I got this huge birthday package from Anna filled with things she picked up on her recent trip to Japan. So many of these are my favorite things. Especially loving the yuzu essential oil for my aroma diffuser. It’s smells perfectly like yuzu!

A few things from Mike including Mermaid Shampoo and the “Flowers in Her Hair” Lippmann polish.

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes on IG & Tumblr!

Catbird First Knuckle Rings http://sushi-cat.net/2014/03/09/catbird-first-knuckle-rings/ http://sushi-cat.net/2014/03/09/catbird-first-knuckle-rings/#comments Mon, 10 Mar 2014 01:52:19 +0000 jenny http://sushi-cat.net/?p=4383 Was surprised by Mike this weekend with a package from Catbird that included two of the knuckle rings I had been looking at plus more of the Captain Blackenship Mermaid Spray. Mike was with me last weekend when I tried to buy more but it was sold out at the store. I don’t want to get overtly sentimental here but this surprise was pretty fuckin’ awesome.

I had been looking for new rings to wear while waiting to get my wedding band resized. I have a few that fit but they have heavy settings and they get in the way with work. I sometimes find rings annoying and suffocating too. So when I saw Catbird’s knuckle rings I was really interested in trying the memory ring or midi ring style out. I actually told Mike I ordered these midi rings off Etsy instead because I felt guilty about spending the extra at Catbird without a “good reason.

The Catbird rings fit great. They don’t get in the way or feel annoying like full size rings can. They feel so light and delicate but are seem sturdy enough to keep their shape after wearing them all weekend. Their simple style will match any of my other rings too. I might start wearing my old rings again thanks to these. They’re all family heirlooms or rings Mike has given me. I tend to talk myself out of buying nice rings and opt for costume jewelry quality instead. That’s a really strange realization I just had about the rings I own. Though I did pick out my simple white gold wedding band so I’ll say that counts as buying it for myself lol.

Madewell Spring & Catbird Rings http://sushi-cat.net/2012/01/14/madewell-spring-catbird-rings/ http://sushi-cat.net/2012/01/14/madewell-spring-catbird-rings/#comments Sat, 14 Jan 2012 17:33:11 +0000 jenny http://sushi-cat.net/2012/01/14/madewell-spring-catbird-rings/ I had mentioned both of these on twitter but I can’t get them out of my head.

First, Lucky Magazine released the Madewell Spring 2012 Lookbook images. Some of these items are already in stores now! I love the new collection and much of it feels reminiscent of Kastane’s autumn items which I love. It’s got me really excited to think about warmer weather. Here are my 8 favoriye looks. You can see all 30+ looks at Lucky.

My other current obsession are rings from Catbird. I love them! :deco2: I love simple classic items but with creative or quirky twists. It reminds me I need to get my ring sizes again. I only know my ring fingers size :P

My absolute favorites are the stack-able rings. I’ve been in love with Tiffany’s Sugar Stacks though the prices are … well let’s just say it’s a luxury for when I’m a little older since I’d want to buy a few to stack! Many of Catbird’s stack rings are reasonably affordable and delicately lovely with lots of styling options.

Love to get lost in inspiration~~ ^_^
