Spring Shopping (50)

Since I don’t plan on ordering anything from 109 or W
C (for however long that lasts, lol) I started buying a few spring items!! They’re finally in store and I’m just too excited to contain myself! I got a few things this past week + weekend.
I loved this the moment I saw it!
I didn’t buy it right away.
I tried not to buy it at all, but when I tried it on I just had to have it.
I want to match it with my new khaki shorts. I’m going to take this to Japan since we’ll be going in the burning summer!!

I’ve been wanting a lace or ruffle vest badly!!
I’ve tried on a lot of them to be honest, but I liked this one and when I saw it was only $9 I went ahead and bought it, LOL.
I’ve missed my gold paint wall!
In the winter no sunlight comes in so I forget how pretty the paint is.
Thankfully the sun’s been out for days!
And it’s still in the low 60’s! Maybe all the snow will melt this week
Onto the shoes. OK, I bought a number of shoes…
Three to be exact.
A pair of short cowboy boots, some new black heels, and some flip flops.
Got these for $30 at JCPenney’s

From H&M. Does anyone remember how I said I tried these on?
It was when I got the patchwork denim. I decided to snag them this weekend!!
I’m really happy I did! I took them to work today to break them in. They’re soft, but sturdy. And they don’t slip off my feet when I try to walk.
I like the height. Taller than kitten heels but not a stiletto so I could see myself wearing these for long shopping hours! Ho~ ho~ ho~ I have high hopes for these heels.
I want them to replace my pink heels as my “comfy heel.”
The pretty pattern insole is my own, not H&M’s. I put insoles in most all my shoes

From Target.
On sale tonight for $10, LOLI really, reaaaaaaally wanted something like this LAST SUMMER after seeing a pretty pair from Alba Rosa. Well no luck last year.
So I thought I’d pick these up when I saw them. My favorite pair of black flip flops are wearing thin, so maybe these will be comfy and matchable enough to take their place. There’s a trend here really. I’m having to replace some of my old clothes.
Either for fit or just wear ‘n tear. Speaking of I got my Free People dress back today!!
It fits great! Though a tad more fitted in the shoulders than I’m used to.
It’s OK, I’m just used to loose clothing, LOL.
The fitted shoulders really give it nice straight lines. Plus now the skirt is fuller on the bottom because she only took in the sides! YES! I love it.
I took a few snaps but on my blackberry, real tiny too because they’re really meant to mail to my friend. No worries, I’ll be wearing this outfit sometimes soon again!

Lastly an adorable owl postcard from Cin~~~!!

Snoopy for Easter (39)

I gave up! I couldn’t do a full week of daily blogging, hahahhaaa!
It was challenging!
I spend the same amount of time online daily. I have enough time to either blog or blog surf.
I really missed blogging surfing! So that’s what I did last night instead of write up an entry.
Quick Question
Should I scan in the W♥C catalog and put it up here for download? It’s really just the same pictures you can find of the collection at the official website, but I would scan it in at 1000px wide which might be useful to someone? hummm~ hummmmmmm~
Friday I finally snagged a pair of the elusive, and cheap, Ardell bottom lashes!! I say elusive because I’ve looked all over for them in my area and they’ve only ever been at 1 store which is an Ulta near my office. Haven’t seen them at other Ulta’s or CVS or Targets. If you’re interested they’re Ardell #112’s. Haven’t gotten to use them yet.

I went to Nordstrom’s today to look at the Shu Uemura Star Accent lashes. Couldn’t find them so I asked the MAC lash counter people. They said the only Nordstrom’s that carries them in-store is the one in Crystal City *sad face, I don’t want to go out that far.* They then tried to sell me MAC lashes but instead quickly asked why I even wanted lashes because my natural lashes looked great.
I had to explain I was looking for the star accent lashes and she looked at her coworker and said, “Oh… she wants that glam glam stuff!”
LOOOOL It’s kinda a moot point to explain the overly dramatic lash look I’m into to people who like “natural looking” false lashes.
So yea, went out to the galleria today. It’s warmer today than it has been ALL WINTER! I think the high was 52F??!! I actually wore shorts! OK, OK, layered with thick knit tights and boots plus a turtleneck and button up.

I LOVE this jean shirt! I knew I wanted to get one this spring. I wasn’t 100% sure which one to go with. There are so many to choose from really. I saw Nana, weeks ago, wearing this one in her blog…
WARNING she looks ridiculously silly with her face, LOOOOL

Figured out it was from Liz Lisa!!!

Sadly it wasn’t on the 109 webshop at the time. It only recently went up actually. BUT! I was browsing Yesstyle and saw one that looks pretty similar!! The only big difference is that there isn’t any lace on the sleeve cuffs. Sadly it’s sold out now.
I actually got this shirt back in early February. Sorry about that guys.

Shibuhara 2001 (46)

I was going through some older issues of magazines the other day and my ancient and decrepit August 2001 issue of Cawaii caught my eye. Why?
SHIBUHARA!

It was amusing so I thought I’d scan in some pages!
Too bad Cawaii is now out of print. It would be fun to compare side-by-side the style differences. I have Popteen in mind for comparison since I feel it was closest matched to Cawaii. Some trends are the same. Black eyeliner, hot pink lips (which have been popular again recently,) and of course nail art. There are color contacts too but they aren’t circle lenses that print the color to the edge. There’s a whole little make section on how to match your eyemake to your colored contacts. Tans were big then. Big, big! Not being tan is a relatively new ideal in the world of “gals.” Some of these girls look older than their ages. Most are 18~22 but it’s such a contrast from how young gals look now. A shift from trying to look older to looking younger maybe.
I did notice an incredible lack of hair extensions. I had my assumptions that hair extensions didn’t really catch on until a few years later. It’s interesting to see the hair arranges using the girls’ thin hair. It’s quite obvious in the bangs! I kinda like it to be honest, LOL as a biased very thinned hair girl, hahahhaaa!

SHIBUhara Hurricane?!
