Recently finished off a jar of my Mary & Mary Skin Conditioner Gel and am switching to Meishoku Organic Rose Moisturizer! Yesstyle started carry the organic rose brand and I’ve had pretty good results from their other products in the past. No break outs. So I’m hoping it’ll be the same with the moisturizing cream. I’ll be using it as my night cream :)

I also received the Moisture Lotion and Moisture Emulsion from Yesstyle and will start using once I’m sure the moisturizing cream doesn’t break me out. This way I’ll know if I do break out which item might be causing it. :)

Meishoku Organic Rose Update http://sushi-cat.net/2012/11/11/meishoku-organic-rose-update/ http://sushi-cat.net/2012/11/11/meishoku-organic-rose-update/#comments Mon, 12 Nov 2012 01:35:52 +0000 jenny http://sushi-cat.net/2012/11/11/meishoku-organic-rose-update/ Update after using Meishoku Organic Rose Skin Conditioner toner for two weeks.

Meishoku Organic Rose Skin Conditioner

I used this toner starting two weeks ago. I replaced my usual Clinique toner with this instead each night.

QUICK REVIEW:
I thought it was OK and gave me some benefits but it didn’t prove to be a holy grail item and I won’t be rushing out to buy it again. I think the Organic Rose Skin Conditioning Gel is better for my skin with better results.

  • brightened complexion
  • some skin smoothing
  • some redness reduction
  • less oily t-zone
  • did not cause breakouts

Meishoku Organic Rose Skin Conditioner and Japanese cotton sheets

FURTHER THOUGHTS:
Great rose smell and soothing sensation when applying the toner. I used cotton pads and balls to apply the toner each night. The major benefit I noticed was that it brightened my complexion from day one. It also kept my T-zone from getting as oily. I usually use 1 & half blotting papers every afternoon because of my oily T-zone. However when using this toner I barely need 1 full blotting paper. I didn’t see any drastic improvement in pore size, smoothing of skin, or moisturizing.

I wanted to post a before & after because when researching this item there weren’t many before & afters in English or Japanese. So I’ll link my before and after. It’s not pretty. No makeup, except a little shadow & mascara on the before picture, and using indirect sunlight. But you can see how a bit brighter my complexion is and also why I sink money into under eye creams, ha! Too up close & detailed – Here it is.

So not a Holy Grail item. HG would be making my skin so nice I could skip a primer and concealer! But with this I definitely still need base makeup to smooth out pores and cover dark circles and redness. Which is OK. :)

I’m just happy it didn’t give me any zits! I’ll finish the bottle but I probably won’t run out replacing it right away.

Meishoku Organic Rose Skin Conditioner http://sushi-cat.net/2012/10/22/meishoku-organic-rose-skin-conditioner/ http://sushi-cat.net/2012/10/22/meishoku-organic-rose-skin-conditioner/#comments Mon, 22 Oct 2012 22:43:12 +0000 jenny http://sushi-cat.net/2012/10/22/meishoku-organic-rose-skin-conditioner/

I’m super excited!
I kept mentioning regretting not getting this when I picked up Meishoku’s Organic Rose Hair Water and Skin Conditioning Gel. Then last week I saw imomoko.com added it to their site! I ordered it right away! It’s actually out of stock now and I just got it in the mail. WOW. Lucky.

I have high hopes for this lotion/toner. It was ranked #1 for 2011 on cosme.net and was still all over stores, such as ranKing ranQueen, this spring with high recommendations. It also ranks higher with women in their late 20’s (me!)

This reminds me of the Thayers Rose Petal Witch Hazel toner. I have always been a bit curious about Thayers but I was worried it would break me out. Almost everything breaks me out, but after having used Meishoku’s skin conditioning gel without any pimples appearing, I feel bold enough to try Meishoku’s toner as well.

It’s best for shrinking pores, brightening skin tone, moisturizing, and preventing oil.
I’m most interested in the pore benefits.

I do use a toner already. Clinique’s Acne Solutions Clarifying toner. It’s a bit too drying to use every day for me. I tend to only use it when I have a breakout or on days I wore makeup from early morning to late night.

When testing this out I won’t use my Clinique toner at all though. I’ll instead use this once a day after cleansing but before moisturizing. :)

Have I mentioned I’m super excited!?
Yes, I have.
I am.
:celebrate:

I Love Organic Rose http://sushi-cat.net/2012/09/26/i-love-organic-rose/ http://sushi-cat.net/2012/09/26/i-love-organic-rose/#comments Wed, 26 Sep 2012 22:45:54 +0000 jenny http://sushi-cat.net/2012/09/26/i-love-organic-rose/ I love the two Meishoku Organic Rose items I picked up in April. Absolutely love.

First the “hair water.” It’s been great to use in the mornings before blow drying. It was especially helpful during summer on a sun-tortured scalp. It mostly leaves my scalp feeling moisturized but it also adds a nice but light texture to my hair as well. If I’m running late in the morning I’ll just use this and blow dry. It gives my hair a nice sleek look without looking completely undone. Smooths flyaways and helps with damaged ends.

Oh and smells great! Of course! Like fresh rose.
It’s a light scent and not too overpowering. Described as “fruity rose.”

It can be used on towel dry hair or completely dry hair. The scent is extremely subtle when used on towel dry hair. When used on dry hair the scent is more apparent like a body spray. I tend to use it before blow drying, to protect my hair from the styling heat but it’s often used as a refresh spray for bedhead or messy hair after going out because it “cuts” the smell of food and tobacco. It’s also silicone-free. I think it might be really good for static come winter! I end up with really electrified hair during winter months.

OH GOD, and now this exists too!?

The second product I have is the Organic Rose Skin Conditioning Gel. It’s a clear gel that moisturizes and tightens. I mostly use this on days I wash my makeup off after work. It gives my skin a nice extra boost of moisture. I use it a few times a week. It smells amazing and does a great job plus the jar lasts. Though I think it’s too tacky of a gel to use in the morning before applying makeup. I’ve only ever used it when I knew I’d be makeup-free.

I said this before but, again, I regret not buying the toner of this series. Also there’s a new moisturizing cream out now that I would love to try.

Japanese Beauty Products http://sushi-cat.net/2012/05/07/japanese-beauty-products/ http://sushi-cat.net/2012/05/07/japanese-beauty-products/#comments Tue, 08 May 2012 00:16:25 +0000 jenny http://sushi-cat.net/2012/05/07/japanese-beauty-products/ A little break from travel photos for a look at what filled up my suitcase.

Starting with firming creams then shampoos followed by hair care/perfumes and body lotions.

I ditched a lot of the packaging for some of this stuff to save on room & weight in my luggage. Helpful tip I guess?

I bought a new body roller. An upgrade from my previous plastic ones but not quite as nice as the original ReFa. I was going to buy the ReFa but it’s $250 and I just felt so silly trying to justify the cost. This one costs about 1/5 instead and I’m really loving it. I’ve been using it every night to counteract swelling.

This is essentially Nivea’s state-side discontinued “My Silhouette” Happy I found it.

I used 1/3 of the Angel Heart Hair Wash at the hotel. Mostly to get it weighing a little less. It re-locks for easy transport! It’s a pretty OK shampoo. Nothing special but didn’t weigh my hair down & smells very lovely!

Hair spray I used while on my trip. ケープ Free Arrange. It’s OK. No strong odor and has a less stiff, “free” hold so it’s good for down do’s. To be fair it was raining 1/2 the time so my hair wasn’t gonna look too hot either way.

Hair fragrances
I only purchased rose-scented ones and there were A LOT of various brands. Seems like every brand had one and then some. Baby Veil, Organic Rose Water Mist, Jewel Jouer in Mimi Torte.

The Loretta is a hairspray for “fluffy” hair looks. The products of this brand are decorated beautifully and have a scent of rose and lavender.

Prostyle Morning Reset Water in rose, Liese Curling Water, Liese Designing Jelly (has a stiff hold,) then some rose shower wash & powder spray.

Essence for Princess Perfect Hair
SOLD! lolol

Also the box for this is gorgeous. It’s hair essence so it adds shine and softens plus gives off a scent of rose all day.

Next to that, the SALA Hair Cologne is what I’m currently using daily. I’d say the scent lasts about 6~8 hours.

But the commercial, OMG this is me…

Next to SALA’s is Ma Cherie’s Hair Fragrance. The Sexy Girl Hair Cologne. I didn’t think Sexy Girl had a rose one at first because their pink bottle is “Candy Berry” scent and I just naturally looked to pink bottles for the rose scents. Finally I took a moment to look through all their fragrances and realized the purple can was the rose. Serves me right for thinking rose = pink 100% of the time.

Bewitch in Love hair body cologne and more stuff from Pink-G brand which I mentioned before here.

Then some Body Fantasies in Rose Petal which is a scent I had never seen in the states before. It’s a mix of rose & baby powder. Baby Powder isn’t among my favorite scents but it worked in this case. I bought it for something I could take with me on the plane (under 3oz) and was a strong scent since I would be essentially off & on planes for 24hours straight. Apparently this scent won some 2011 Yahoo Beauty Award. My friend told me I smelled good so I guess it works

Then just some Rose of Heaven stuff & Happy Bath Day body powder spray.

Liese Night Care Whip. This sounded intriguing. You blow dry it into your hair at night and it’s supposed to help you wake up with ready to go voluminous hair. I haven’t used it yet and the reviews at cosme.net have me a little doubtful but I still wanted to try it out.

I regret not buying the rose toner from this line after reading reviews that it was amazing. Either way, I did get the rosewater hair mist & this moisturizer.

That’s it for now~

A Few Rose & Sweat Type Bath Salts http://sushi-cat.net/2011/05/26/a-few-rose-sweat-type-bath-salts/ http://sushi-cat.net/2011/05/26/a-few-rose-sweat-type-bath-salts/#comments Fri, 27 May 2011 03:45:11 +0000 jenny http://sushi-cat.net/2011/05/26/a-few-rose-sweat-type-bath-salts/ Just an FYI I had some time to add in some other subscribe options besides just my RSS. :deco15:

I added Bloglovin and Google Friend Connect.

Though I notice Friend Connect needs the newest of browsers. I’m using Firefox 3.5 and it no longer shows for me, haahaa! :dizzy: So we’ll see how it goes. :)

I’ve got a couple of bath salts with mini reviews! :deco10: I should have been better at posting these as I used them so it wouldn’t be so many at once. But nevertheless here are 4 different ones.

First is a “Betty Boop” themed sweat bath. Followed by a rose bath from the “Girl Troubles Series!” Very funny packaging for everything in that bath salt series. Then there is another rose bath from my favorite brand, Bison followed by a Piggy themed sweat bath salt. :ok:

Betty Boop

MTボディケア ホットスパ BETTY BOOP

Vivid fuchsia salt gives off a super potent “Spicy Hot Ginger” scent! Turns the bathwater a clear “glowing ruby” color with a shimmering glitter film. The skin firming ingredients of natural sea salts and algae extract are surprisingly effective! I was sweating like crazy. :deco13: Usually these character type bath salts are more gimmick than game but this one got me! :deco3: I’d recommend it for a moderate to high sweat with a powerful punch of a scent! Very happy! :) I want to buy more of this one! :ok: Has a rating of 5 stars at cosme.net.

Sasa currently selling it here! There’s a new Princess & Sexy type version of these as well that I would like to try!

Otome no Nayami Bath
捕まえよ、王子

This is from 乙女の悩みシリーズ or “Girl Troubles Series”. :deco2: This one is basically dubbed “to catch a prince” for girls impatiently waiting for their prince! Includes rosewater and wild rose extract. The scent is “Feminine Rose” and the color comes out a super milky rose color. Very floral rose scent like a candle! :deco1: Strong too when it first goes in! I really love the color. It’s perfect for a rose scented bath salt.

Rosefull ホットデト

From Bison

This is a type from Bison’s “Rosefull” mineral bath series. This one is a mild sweat bath focused on a Moroccan theme! Meant to evoke the image of a rose blooming in a desert oasis. :deco1: Contains rosemary extract for firming and wild rose oil for moisturizing.

Bright pink salt with white crystals. Super rose scented!!!! Like fancy rose soaps!! Perfume-like rose fragrance almost. Produces a clear rosy pink bathwater. Moderately effective sweat bath. Received 4 stars at cosme.net.

Sasa currently selling it here.

どっ汗風呂

This sweat bath one has collagen in it! :deco4: Amazing “Asian Floral” scent with reddish orange bathwater. Fairly damn effective “intense hot chili” sweat bath! Left my skin soft too. :deco4:

Sasa currently selling it here.
