Sick for days

The headache was more than just a headache. I woke up Tuesday with a horrid flu. I got through getting dressed for work and then hit a brick wall of misery. Mike suggested I stay home instead, so I did. It then got worse, a lot worse. So I stayed home Wednesday too. I wanted to stay home today as well (seeing as I hurled this morning while getting dressed for work… ) but I didn’t want to get too far behind on my projects and I’m running out of leave hours. Sick leave should not count against you, or you should get WAY more than 5 days worth a year. Thankfully I could use my vacation time as sick leave (thankfully? Yea, sure, whatever… ) I’m working my day off (President’s day) to make back 8 hours of leave 
(at least that IS an option I can choose, I know I’m lucky.)
This has been the worst cold + flu season EVER for me. I’ve had 3 different flus already! They’ve all been different. Like this one, I actually had a fever I couldn’t shake. It would go up, then down, then back up.
Blegggggh, I feel like death :( :( :( :( *sad face times a million.* I’m probably ranting incoherently as well. Pardon, I’ve been delusional for days…

It sucks that the headache turned out to be more than “just” a headache. Make sure to rest well and get better
But I know what you mean, cold & flu filled season. During november/december I was sick 3 times, too, different stuff also! It was really bad timing cause I had exams in january…at least we are still alive, hm? ^^;

The real world sucks…a lot. Hopefully you’ll get some other days off? I’m not sure how such hours are alloted ;;==

Oh gosh, that sounds like my friend who missed a couple of days of school, but he’s finally back today. I hope you get better soon. It just sucks being sick and WOW! 3 different kinds of flu. That’s just crazy!! @__@ Take care!

Argh, the flu is horrible~ I had 3 kinds of flus last year. They just kept coming and going =_=;;

Keep warm, drink lots of fluid, sleep~ and hopefully it’ll go away soon.
I never use all my sick days at work.. I feel like I should take advantage of it but that’s so bad! Hahaha..

Man, that sux, I guess DC is pretty crowded so it’s easier to catch flus during this season. Hope you feel better soon.
Poor Jen…. I truly wish that you’ll feel better soon!! This flu season has been really horrible! Both of my parents have gotten sick and it took a while for them to get better. Take care, Jen!
I hope you’re feeling much better by now — WEEKEND time. ^_______^ That does kinda suck that you won’t be getting a 3-day weekend. BUT.. like you said at least you get the option to do so that way you don’t use up so much of your sick time.

I hope you are feeling better soon. I have been having trouble with my sinuses. Weather is up and down. Doesn’t seem to know if it is Winter or Spring. I had the flu back in January of ‘06. I was sick for days. Had a temperature of 102 and I couldn’t eat anything. I lost 12 pounds in less than a week.

i still get sick during exams
so feeling like crap while studying is probably the worst thing in the world

Oh no, I’m so sorry to hear you’re sick. It sounds like what I had over Christmas - the fever going up and down but never away! I really hope you’re feeling better soon.

You’d probably hate me but I didn’t get sick all season long. Maybe because last year I got sick in on season so no sick this time makes up for it. Drink juice and get vitamin C in you.
