A New Machine

My current little laptop here hails from the year 2001. It was the laptop I purchased my freshmen year in college. It was so amazing. Especially in comparison to my then computer, a Gateway 2000 that ran Windows 95 and had a hard drive space of 2GB. Yes, 2 GB 
Mike’s been pressuring me to get a new computer for about 3 years now. Mine has its “quirks.” It stands today old and mangled. Riddled with constant bizarre error messages and low disk space warnings. I attempted to reformat it last summer but the hard drive is so old and damaged.. it just couldn’t deal. 
SO. My new machine arrived today
:driftingheart: Purchased with my tax refund and upgraded thanks to Mike’s fantastic boss who let us purchase it through his office giving us quite the price deal! Including a 22″ monitor. Holy crap it’s huge. My current laptop is a 14″. Hahah. So chat friends, you’ll never have to hear me bitch about my computer “having strokes” for at least the next 7 years!

So that’s what I’ll be doing tonight. Though after I make my final stops at 2 other eyewear stores. I haven’t been able to find those darn D&G pink frames to try on! Not even in the other colors. But I did try on some thick clear plastic frames yesterday that I liked so I’ll be making a final decision tonight and getting these things crafted.

Ahhh I know the woes of having an intrument that is beyond use ~!At the moment, I utilize my parents laptop! My oldies have a better computer than me! It’s humiliating! ;p

Wow, that’s amazing! From 2001! My sister bought a laptop in 2001 and it died like 3 years later. Then she bought a second laptop, which died last year. Your one laptop outlived my sister’s TWO laptops. That’s so crazy. Well, you sure tried to get your money’s worth…

i hook mine up to our tv and watch dramas on it

with superb quality

Haha, my computer is almost as old as your laptop, it’s from 2003. I don’t even have a flat screen that’s how old my desktop is and it also gives those weird error messages.

ooh congrats on the new laptop! aww i was sad when my old dinosaur of a machine died last year. it had been my baby for so long - an old bmi 560x. this new one is pretty amazing tho. new laptops are so shiny these days, aren’t they?

I want a laptop… I think I’ll be getting one this fall for college.
I mean, my dad didn’t say no, and he usually buys whatever I want for me.
Except college is so expensive, so I kind of feel bad.
I need to start looking for a good one!
I don’t know what to do without my laptop.. Wee~ You should find it a name. I call mine “Noir”, still unsure. I might change it soon. I’m still using the phrase “Where’s my laptop?!” instead of “Where’s Noir?!”… I guess I’m not used to it. Hahaha! Oh well. Do you know any laptop accessory that covers the lid of the laptop? Mine’s getting lots of scratches and bruises lately. Just more like a mask to cover the top skin.
Ah I love getting new computers! It’s so fun to set them up.
