Something to think about
Thursday, 9月/28日 [2006年] // 10 Comments

This photo has been upsetting me for days. I’m constructing some web pages on marine debris for a big project at work and it’s just hard to edit photos of pollution and trapped animals. This poor seal is tangled in debris. Just waste. How can we keep doing this to the environment!? And the photos of the Hawaiian islands… covered in trash… it’s disgusting! Anyway, I wanted to post this. Maybe give you an idea of what I do.
Also, thanks everyone who commented on my last entry. All the comments were so thoughtful and helpful, even though some think they are just “ranting” in my comments, you’re not. Rant away. I’m a person who really learns by sharing experiences and relating experiences. So I never find personal “rants” or whatever bothersome.

Awe, poor seal. It’s really bad how “we” can do this to the environment and innocent animals. =___=;

Awe that poor seal.
It’s really sad, seeing photos like that makes me upset. It’s terrible that things like that happen. That would be hard to do a project on. I read your other entries, sorry things aren’t going too well. I’ve finally learned how difficult love can me, especially when it comes to trusting people. Evan, who I’m with now…we had a lot of problems in the beginning and I’m pretty sure they’re over now but I’m not 100% certain, you know? I just have to try and if it doesn’t work, well I guess I’ll have to move along.

Take care!

That is so depressing! I’d hate having to look at stuff like that all day for work x_x My senior year of HS I took AP Environmental Science and we learned about all kids of stuff, most of it was really sad too.
I really hope the marine debris issue can be fixed through the work you put into your pages
I mean.. even just making people more aware of things can make a difference!

Its horrible you are right why doesn’ anybody do anything about it?
September 28, 2006 @ 3:46 pm
How depressing x_x
I mean, people are just like polluting the waters where animals live -how would we like if someone just decided to throw trash down on our streets and just trap us in the middle of the street or something?

That upsets me too, it’s so horrible. I don’t know why people act the way they do. They’re very mean and cruel. Today we had a discussion in class about pet ferrets. Most people in our class unfortunately called them vermin and destructive. That may be true, but they have never had one before since they’re illegal here. Also, when people want profit and fish for a large bulk of fish… I don’t think they care whether if part of their fishing net gets cut up and left to drop onto the bottom of the sea for poor little marine animals to get caught in. People just suck. Very careless and unthoughtful about the environment.

We are going to destroy this Earth one day. when it happens, we’re going to regret it then. Stupid humans…so wasteful, so idiotic.

yeah, people really suck when it comes to certain things like caring about the effing enviroment =( it’s not that hard to clean up after urselves. and yet, we’re spending (well not we, exactly, but i mean WE as in north america..haha) a lot of money on ..stuff that’s causing more enviromental damage, like WARS and all the wastes they create.. =-( i wonder whos fault this is

hooohoooo~ guess who’s finally back!
omg, please don’t show me this kind of pictures… whenever I see something like this I think how stupid human beings really are. It upsets me that we’re destroying our planet and its animals. so sad. it makes me want to cry. ;_;
oh yes and thanks for all the lovely letter you sent me. I always feel so happy when I read them. This time it’s almost my turn to write back to you. oh gosh… I feel so bad about slacking down with my friendships…. TOT

Those kinds of pictures, make me all the more angry at the human race. We produce and we waste with little concienciousness of those around us. We somehow forget that animals do not adapt as quickly as we do to changes. And in the ocean it’s even harder. Things not only kill you if you eat them, they will strangle you to death just for swimming by. It’s sickening. Sometimes I wish we did have world war three to wipe us all out. ._. Atleast then the earth would be able to slowly get back on her feet just like after the dinosaurs, the great flood era, ice age and so on an so forth. ;_; But then, being human I also don’t want that. I like the way we live minus the fact that for our leisure the animals must suffer.
