Silk and Sandals
Saturday May 04, 2013
Was ironing two silk blouses the other day. Ironing silk is very possible but a little unnerving since it’s such a delicate fabric. Even on the silk setting I take it slow.

I ordered one of Everlane’s new band collar silk blouses in sun-kissed blue. It’s still cool enough out to wear long sleeved silk.
Actually it’s still so cold I pulled out a favorite cardigan of mine. I like long cardigans in winter and short ones in spring.summer. So I packed up my long grey cardigan and pulled out my ultra-fitted short grey cardigan.

Last weekend I picked up some new items for summer. There was a sale on Madewell’s sandals. I haven’t had a proper pair of sandals in a few years now. These seem like they might be 100% blister-free comfortable to wear. Here’s hoping. It’s still too cold to try them out.
Also finally got another skirt for summer (which I was needing.) It’s black. Of course it’s black! I own 5 black skirts now. I just love black for bottoms, I dunno. *owns it* Anyway it’s Madewell’sBistro Skirt . I actually have their Bistro dress and love the material. This skirt is mostly like the dress’s bottom half. Except there’s no pockets? WTF I almost didn’t buy it because it lacked pockets! But it’s a nice size, length, texture, and it has a tiny bit of stretch to it so I looked past the pocketlessness.

Omg, I have sandals similar to those from Clarks! I live that your ones are all red though, the insole part is tanned on mine. X

WTF how do you always buy things I’d eyed on websites. The new band-collar blouse from Everlane, love. and you bought the round-collar in the colour I was thinking of purchasing, too!
The skirt is cute but the pocketlessness is dire, isn’t it.

it’s really hard buying skirts in colors other than black D:
and i have sandals in that style! my favorite type is the strappy ones, especially after they break in it feels like you aren’t wearing shoes 8)

looove the shoes! And I hate to iron :D

The blouse in the first photo + those sandals are adorable!
I don’t like ironing. Which is probably why I don’t have that many silk clothes. They’re all mostly cotton and lace, haha! :)

You and I both. I cannot stand not wearing a skirt without pockets. I love stuffing my pockets with either a bit of cash, my phone, or just to make myself look busy, haha.

Love all the pieces, but the red sandals are so pretty : )

I honestly can’t believe it’s still so cold out. I try to steam things usually, I hate ironing so much lol.

Why is it still cold? :’( It’s May already!
I’d love to get stuff from Madewell and Everlane one day.. At least Madewell ships to Japan but I’m still too broke XD Maybe when I start working full time~~ How do you keep your knitted stuff from piling? Do you trim them? Maybe I buy bad quality stuff or just don’t treat stuff well but my knitted stuff tend to pile easily… -
Hi Jenny,

I get nervous ironing my silk blouses too XD I’m still a bit clueless about it. Do you use a cloth in between the iron and blouse?
Btw that cardigan look so nice and soft! I like the elbow patch detail :)
