Pasta for Dinner

pasta dinner

When Mike works late I’m left to my own devices for dinner. I say the reason I default to pasta is due to my Italian ancestry, but actually I just find it incredibly easy and I’m an incredibly lazy cook. In all honesty if I had to cook for myself these days I’d end up being an involuntary vegetarian because, though I don’t dislike eating meat, I truly dislike cooking it. So everything I make tends to be meatless. Likely another factor in why Mike is the cook around here.

I absolutely love cooking. The smells, the craftness of it – but, hey I understand not everyone’s got the feel for it. What is it you dislike about cooking meats?

Basically everything everyone said below, haha!

Aw girl, it takes practice and Mike can help! I used to be paranoid too, but after you set a timer so long and then don’t use one, it’s like you know (like a dog waiting at the bus stop for ya) Also, pan cook a chicken breast and if you’re really unsure, just take a knife and pierce the center of it, if the chicken is still slightly pink, it only needs a little longer. Heck, take it off and it will probably cook through cause it’s still hot. Why not check out some cool classes at Whole Foods or something for a cute date with Mike? :)

Holy crap man I feel you. I usually end up with just avocado on toast for dinner when I’m home alone!

even though i’ve started to eat meat again, i’m scared to cook it. i’ll under cook it! over cook it! add the wrong seasoning! somehow make it disgusting!!!!! too hard!!

Ugh, meat is just too difficult. I find it easier grilling boca burgers over real burgers because I know even if I undercook it, its just vegetables!

Saaaaaaame. On the raw occasion I do cook raw meat it’s always overcooked. I just don’t trust myself to cook it properly enough & it’ll be my cause of death Dx

That pasta looks INCREDIBLY delicious! I totally get you with the involuntary vegetarian thing too – the most I can come up with cooking meat at home is opening a can of tuna… Hehehe. ;)

The pasta looks super yummy!!!! And yes cooking meat can be quite bothersome as you have to worry if it’s cooked on the inside or have you overcooked it, etc.
