I will celebrate your short presence on this tiny little planet~
Today I learned that I am graduating. I received a C in JAVA therefore completing my credits.
I also learned that my precious kitty of nearly 17 years, Pookie (aka: Misty), past away in her sleep today. She was my companion, my partner in crime, and when growing up~ my only friend. We had grand adventures together along with some “arguments.” Hahaha, she was SO full of personality. People were always amazed to see how emotional she was towards me. She was a true friend, a true person inside.
She passed away at the age of 16 in her sleep. She looked so… happy. So very happy. Even in her death she was the cutest thing ever. Sleeping the way she does with her little tongue out and such a peaceful look of happiness on her face. It was like she was still asleep there… only to never wake.
I’m terribly upset. Some people might not understand such pain and heartache over a cat, but she wasn’t just “a cat.” She was everything to me. I’ll miss her so much, but I celebrate her life. Tonight has been spent reminiscing about her quirks & our adventures with Mike. I’ll always love her <3

Very sorry to hear about Pookie. Wow, you had her for so long. I’m glad you had that much time with her and you two were there for eachother. I know how it feels to loose a cat. ;___ ;

aww..im so sad now. I have never had a pet before so I wouldn’t know how you feel. But I have lost someone close. Just cherish all the memories you and you kitty shared. I hope you feel a little better by the time you read this. also…congratulations.

It’s always the hardest losing a close pet. When our sheltie passed away last year, I was never so heartbroken. Animals become a part of you, a part of your being, and when they go, so does a part of yourself. But at least she went peacefully.

Im sorry about your kittie. I know its hard. My 1st doggie past away about 5 or 6 months ago. It one the hardest things in the world…letting go. It’s nice to know that your kitt died in her sleep. We had to put our doggie down. Im so sorry. Just remember the good days and think how your kitty felt. She must have been happy to have gotten such a good owner who loved her. You made her happy!

Reading that made me cry.
My Sophie is also 16 years old, I’ve had her since I was 4. Even thinking about losing such a companion is unbearable. But no matter what, Pookie knew she was loved and loved you very much. I like to believe that cats are guardian angels and we will “see” them again someday. Maybe not in the same form & maybe you won’t even recognize her, but whenever you feel happiness or warmth it will be her watching over you.

Sorry to hear about your cat, she looks and sounds like a sweet cat. My dog is getting older and older too, I don’t want to think about that moment when he will… *bwaaahh*

Aww. Losing your pet of 16 years must be so sad. Though the good thing is that she didn’t suffer! Now she’s in cat heaven. =]

omg! no… thats horrible…i hope you are doing ok.. thats really sad.. i lost both of my cats their names were mr. moe and mr. flow(no joke), and i lost my lovely doberman pincher, he was so sweet!… i still miss them, but you will move on its ok …STAY STRONG

my condolences. i’ve never lost a pet so dear, b/c i’ve never had a pet cat/dog, but I know the feeling of losing a friend. Hope Pookie will be remembered as a wonderful friend then just a cat as you have described.

don’t let anyone tell you she’s “just a cat.” I had a cat pass away a few years ago, who I loved a lot. it tore me apart. for the next week at school I had trouble concentrating. I asked a teacher if I could postpone a test, because I couldn’t focus - and a girl in front of me had the gall to turn around and say “why are you so upset - it’s just a cat.”
but cats can be so much more loyal, lovable, and close than anyone. they don’t get wrapped up in telling rumors, backstabbing, or rejecting you if you don’t wear the right thing.

I’ve never had a pet, but to spend so many years with a companion like that, Aii, that’s horrible, but good thing she died painlessly! I mean, she was happy until the end~~
