Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited Lipstick

Yesterday I received this Shu Uemura lipstick compliments of Yesstyle. The shade is PK 315 – a soft baby pink with a neutral undertone. It’s a creamy but somewhat sheer shade from their Rouge Unlimited line. The color builds easily. I found dabbing it on lightly is great for a matte pink lip. It’s creamy but feels a little dry since I’m always wearing slick lip balm. I’ve used both a gloss and clear stick balm over the lipstick today and it blends great with no feathering or creasing when adding the top layer. I’m wearing it alone in the photo below taken right after work today.

The color reminds me of two other lipsticks I’ve used. First, the texture and color are reminiscent of MAC’s St. Germain. However Shu Uemura’s lipstick is more forgiving in color payoff and moisturizing. It’s easily made to look subtle and doesn’t crease the way my MAC St. Germain constantly would.

The other lip item it reminds me of is Baby Lips Pink Wink.
(Which is a limited shade in the duo pack.) I actually think the Baby Lips would be a great dupe for this. Though the Shu Uemura lipstick lasts much longer with less fading and isn’t shimmery like Baby Lips, the Baby Lips is more moisturizing and also bubble gum flavored.

This is my first Shu Uemura lipstick and I’m a bit obsessed with the packaging. It’s sorta a little futuristic. The case catches the light so beautifully and it just has this overall feeling of sleekness in its design.

Paul & Joe Brush

My previous retractable blush brush from Sephora finally fell apart. It had it for years and toted it around almost daily so I knew it wouldn’t last forever. I received this Paul & Joe Beaute face color brush courtesy of Yesstyle.

It’s got a lovely exterior with the familiar Paul & Joe flower design etched into the side and a shiny knob for elevating the brush once the cap is removed. That’s my favorite part, the cap fits brilliantly. It definitely won’t be sliding off randomly in my makeup bag.

The bristles are very soft and have a nice give to them that makes applying blush or highlighter effortless. The open slit track where the knob is feels a little strange at first when holding it but I’m sure I’ll get used to it. :)
