Spring Boots and Rambling

Blooming Tea

They’re so pretty and delicate

I wish the weekend wasn’t ending. The coming week is probably going to be the most stressful of weeks. But only work-wise I think. The past week I’ve had both work & non-work stress; like my Mom waiting to hear whether or not she has cancer. She doesn’t, thank god. That has been weighing on my mind for a week & 1/2 now. But all is well with her. I’m trying to plan on visiting my family this summer. I just need to look at how many vacation days I have. I’d really prefer to stay longer than the typical 3 short days. But if I stay much longer there’s a higher possibility Mike couldn’t come. ~sigh~

I’m glad I’ve stayed in all day. It’s been mostly quiet and relaxing~ Last night we went out for a nice dinner after an insane trip to overly-crowded IKEA. I’m having to replace my main magazine bookcase… current one just couldn’t handle the weight! Also looked around for some spring boots. Saw some I liked at Zara for $98.00 but they were black~ plus I’d rather not pay that much. Might as well buy Free People boots for that price
Saw these online though… cute & cheap so just thinking about getting one of them

Saw this in Vivi. It’s Rinka’s favorite Alba Rosa items. I really liked the sandals and want to find some similar!

That’s it. I’m pretty fatigued. I think I may have caught Mike’s headcold but hopefully not :dizzy:
Thanks everyone who commented on my private entry. And to anyone who requests the password and may not receive a reply please don’t distress. I don’t mind anyone requesting but I do tend to only give it out to those who regularly comment. It’s nothing personal :rejected: It’s just that I feel I actually KNOW who that person is and that it’s not someone from my offline life prying into things I’d rather them not.

    That tea flower is beautiful! I need to get back into drinking tea. It’s good to hear that your mom is okay, I hope she stays that way! I remember seeing sandals like Rinka’s all over the stores here last summer. My mom has a similar pair but the sandals are white. I wouldn’t be surprised if the trend carried over into this summer.

    I really wish Blogger had private entries, I’ve been badgering their help desk about it for months!

  2. daisy says:

    but how come it’s at a funny angle…? what does it look like when it’s worn~ so interesting :0
    Blooming tea is really pretty! :) I tried it once :x but it’s so expensive outside…

    • jenny says:

      They’re supposed to be a bit slouchy so I think that angle, when worn, is what makes them slouch~ *only guessing*

      I hate how $$$ blooming tea is =___=;; but I suppose it’s expected.

    Glad your mum is ok. It’s always such a huge stress waiting for test results of any kind. With all the advancements science has made you’d think we could cut the waiting time a bit eh? I love those sandals and I’ve seen girls about on campus wearing similar ones. I’m still in gladiator mode though ahaha. I’m so last season @_@

  29. Midori says:

    I’ve been lurking lately I guess… too impatient to comment lately?

    Btw, I’m more a fan of the 2nd boots. The first tan ones just look too plastic-y.

  32. Nicole says:

    Probably a dumb question, but what exactly is blooming tea? I’ve never heard of it besides on your blog. ;___;

    It’s really pretty, though!

    Alba Rosa =

    • Jenny says:

      It’s when tea leaves/petals are sewn together usually with other flowers like marigolds or rose petals to form a “bloom” shape. They are dried in tight balls that open up when the hot water is added :D

      Some can get very intricate and beautiful depending on how they are sewn :)

  33. Zoraida says:

    This must be a stupid question but… what does blooming tea taste like? Does it just taste like the type of tea you use or is there a flowery taste? @_@

    I love those Alba Rosa sandals and I do believe I saw some at Payless and Nordstrom but that was…. last summer ;~;

    • Jenny says:

      I know! I even checked Payless but either they aren’t doing them this year or it’s a summer line thing~ *hoping*

      It’s not a dumb question~ It depends first on the type of tea (black or green.) Green blooming tea is easier to find. Both usually have either a heavy or light flower taste to them because actual flowers are sewn onto the tea leaves. Tea leaves are often sewn around a marigold (for example) then dried into a tight ball. When the water is added that ball “blooms” :D

      Jasmine is the most popular flower used :)

  34. Lo says:
