What I ate Today

Sunday May 31, 2009

Yea, it’s going to be that boring Of a post, hahaha :rainbowtwinkle:

I didn’t do much this weekend. Mostly I laid out both Saturday and Sunday! It was heavenly! Saturday we did get out for a while. I picked up these heels on sale at DSW! Only $25.00. So far they’re feeling really comfy! I’m hoping I can wear them often with baggy rolled jeans :doubleheartbeat:

Yea, nothing but blackberry photos, hahaaha.
Today I didn’t even go out except on a walk later in the evening. I spent a lot of my day laying out, then cooking up heads of cabbage for the coming week! I want to replace 2 dinner meals this week with low-calorie cabbage meals! So for lunch I grabbed a bunch of low calorie things and made a quick soup! It’s made from cabbage, shiitake dashi, gyoza dumplings (with leek inside!), Texas Pete hot sauce, and a few noodles. In all it’s about 150kcal a bowlful! I had 2 bowls worth because I only had a 65kcal jelly for breakfast. :twinklewhtout:
I was shocked at how good it tasted. I really suck at cooking except easy things like this :?:

Then I had a sugary snack a few hours later when we went for a walk, hahahaaa. It’s a green tea and red bean paste ice cream sandwich! It’s 200+kcal :vomitblood::smallcry: But it’s just so yummy and refreshingly different! I fell in love with them last year.

Then 2 tacos for dinner!

This pic goes along with a tweet I made earlier this weekend!
aaahahahhhahaaa :noki4:

I shouldn’t complain with a boring weekend! No news is usually good news right!?!? Things feel like they’ve gotten better. Two days of sunshine can really help :*:

I’m thinking of ordering this cell phone charm button. Blackberry doesn’t have a place for charms. I just hope it sticks to silicone skins. I really don’t want to buy a plastic cover or especially go WITHOUT a cover just to stick it on, haahaa. I want to go through the site a browse a bit before putting in my order. Better to order everything at once right!? :)
I dunno maybe I’ll buy a plastic case anyway b/c then I could deco it morphing my slick all-business blackberry into some cheap looking girl obsession! :glitz: HAHAHA DO WANT!! I never wanna grow uppppppp!

UPDATE: Mike was looking at plastic cases for my blackberry on Amazon and accidently 1-clicked ordered me one for $3.00!!! Hahahah so whether or not the buttons stick to silicon are no longer relevant I suppose! :mkpoo: :mkpoo: :mkpoo:

I think those heels would like great with dark blue jeans. I don’t think I’ve ever seen you in a pic w/jeans. I didn’t think you wore them.

    • jenny says:

Oh I’m a jeans queen!! I think the previous 2 posts have some examples :P

      • toritori says:

Yea, I remember you having baggy jeans or something- where did you get them, I was wondering? I know this is totally irrelevant XD

        • jenny says:

Well my main pair are this super old pair (like 5 years?) I got in college. They’re the real deal I guess! Actual worn-in jeans hahaha, I don’t know HOW they’ve lasted but they are super comfy :P

Guess that doesn’t help much! Sorry!

  4. Cecilia says:

Food looks delicious and absolutely love dumplings

  5. Kim says:

Wee I love tacos! And I never have the patience to lay out in the sun! AND I would like to say that I have a newfound love for DSW!!!!!

I also think silicone cases are better than plastic because they’re easier to clean without the worry of scratches!

  9. Cynthia says:

woahh! you’re eating things that have over 1000 calories?!?! (1kcal = 1000cal)! that sounds like a fast food diet aiyaaaaaa.

    • jenny says:

Actually they mean the same thing, so 1kcal = 1 calorie. It’s just that “calorie” is a more popular term.

  10. Ys says:

Ooh I love the pink shoes – absolutely gorgeous :)

The weather here has been so hot too. All you can really do is lie very still and enjoy it isn’t it? ;)

  11. cin says:

I love the shoes! And the ice cream made me drool :P Strapya has heaps of really cute stuff!! I like browsing through it~ (it’s a bit pricey for shipping to here though… last time I checked anyway…) :)

  12. jayjayne says:

Hhehehe – great buys! Love the stuff you can find online! :D I’m getting my Capybara San from Strapya soon – but that stick-on button looks like a great idea – my poor iPhone feels so plain and unloved!

  13. Shirley says:

    I’m getting hungry!!
Always with the yummy food pics xD

  14. Veronica says:

Yay red heels + alcohol = sexy time, haha XD

  15. Anna says:

Wah you blog so much, I never keep up anymore XD But that’s just nice! I enjoy scrolling through your photos at GoogleRead whenever I don’t have time to read the whole entries :p

Where do you get ALL that japanese food? XD haha, it sort of seems like japanese supermarket food is the oNLY sorts of supermark food you buy and eat :p haha

I’m getting hungry by looking at your photos! Luckily there’s yellow lemon jelly waiting for me in the freezer :D!!

    • jenny says:

Well one would think but my US groceries FAR outweigh Japanese or Korean brands!!! The non-American stuff seems special-ish to me so I end up choosing to blog about that. Though yesterday was a heavy Japanese food day, hahah! Two Korean supermarkets are actually closer to my house than any US grocery so I’m there a lot out of convenience and they sell mostly Japanese foods. :)

  16. Erica says:

    Your new heels are nice!

  17. ashica says:

I’m a fan of those shoes. Does the picture reflect the actual in-person color?

  18. mawa says:

wow i’m really diggin those low cal foods of yours~ hopefully in the future you’ll be making recipes? i don’t know how to cook well either, but i’m trying to learn whenever i have the chance to~

also – are you thinking of deco’ing your blackberry?! *____* dude i wanna see the shiny pink bling! omgg~

    • jenny says:

After I made the soup I had wished I had written it down. But I’ll probably make it soon again and will try to do a recipe maybe?!

I’m thinking about it, not sure what style I’d do. Maybe simple?? Or maybe dessert covered!?

  19. Courtney says:

You know, I remember the doctor asking me if I was always so tired because I was yawning a lot. I had to wake up early, so I said that was the cause but thinking back I do tend to be tired a lot during the day no matter how I slept. I think when I go to the cardiologist I’ll probably ask about that. Thanks for your concern!!

    • jenny says:

Do you bruise easily as well? Fatigue and bruising are a big sign. (I was anemic in high school~~)

  20. mmm~ those dumplings look so yummy~♥♥
    i love dumplings so much~!!

haha xDD how was the beer~? ^__^
    i cant really drink beer… i dont like the taste D;
have to get used to it maybe~?!

    • jenny says:

I’m working my way to it! Hahahah. It’s my “Everest!” I made it a mission this summer to LEARN to drink beer. It’s been a problem in the past with work events at pubs and bbqs, There’s always just beer and I feel so left out. So I want to be able to drink it. I learned to like wine! I think I can do it!! \:D/

      … I’ll always prefer the frilly cocktails though I can’t help it! hahaha ;_;

  21. Winn says:

I don’t really like green tea ice cream but I like the vanilla icecream + red bean + mochi in a fish shape wafer thing! it’s really :9

Japanese snacks are so expensive here… Everyone goes to the expired junk food corner since it gets reduced to less than half price! :x (from past experience there’s not too much difference… if it’s only off by a month or something… for chips and stuff… LOL my days of being a poor uni student OTL) Is it really that horrifying to try expired food~~~ (;¯‿¯)

  22. Elizabeth says:

I remember you!!! (from before I took my 1.5-year hiatus) I was trying to relocate your blog but I couldn’t remember the url. So yay. :)

Also those shoes are really cute.. though I don’t think I could wear them for 5 minutes without falling over or screaming in pain. Oh well.

  23. hannie says:

that ice cream sandwich seriously looks so goood! can u buy those at the japanese grocery store? do they come separately or in packs!? i wnat to try it.

  24. Midori says:

Dude, I want to try that ice cream sandwich out. I always get really similar ones from a small korean market around here. It’s a taiyaki(fishy!) shell that looks exactly like the one above (thin, wafery) with vanilla ice cream and red bean paste.

  25. Zoraida says:

BEEEEEER!!! Ahhh, good luck on your quest! Beer is just so hard to drink sometimes because of the taste, who knows, I hear you like it when you get older though. Good practice for your taste buds hahahaha!

That ice cream sandwich looks so good~~ You’re making me want to eat even though its midnight! Ahhhhhhh

  26. Lorik says:

    ahhhhh~~~ cute shoesssss ^_______^ ive been shoe shopping too!!~ i love shoes~
i love cell phone charms…i used to have so many hanging off of one phone, but it made a lot of noise hahaha, so now i have to hanging from my phone…i also have one hanging from my DS~~

  27. Sumie says:

you need to post a recipe =))
actually when i want to lose weight the combination of water, green tea & miso soup with tofu works best for me.
    i’ve never tried cabbage….
imported japanese food is a lot cheaper in the us than in europe!!that’s so unfair…

  28. Aleida says:

OMGAWDD is that ASAHI “super dry” beer ?!!! :P Nice !!!! You know I can’t stand beer, but ASAHI is the only beer I drink and I love to drink it cooooold XD Unfortunately I don’t drink it often :( oh uhh not sure if drinking beer often is a good thing *gulp*

  29. emm says:

yeah im not using silicon i LOVE my ipod touch case so much more than a silicon one as they feel nicer and less..mushy?
    i dont know o__o;
but yeah strapya world has nice fun things!

  30. Lexxii says:

  31. Tori says:

LOVE the shoes! :) & your soup looks so yummy! It sounds like you’re doing great with your diet too~ I know you can reach your goal by July! :)

  32. Shayna says:

That soup sounds delicious! And easy to make. Did you use already made gyoza?

  33. Rae says:

You know, I feel the same way about girls who can drink beer so easily. I’m more of a cocktail kind of girl..hahaha.

  34. Thao says:

Hehe, your shoes remind me of Dorthy’s from the Wizard of Oz.
