Impromptu Date Night

Friday May 29, 2009

Wednesday when Mike got home from work he immediately asked if I’d like to go see a movie! We’d of course get dinner right after. I threw on some clothes and we rushed to the 6:15 showing of Terminator Salvation! It was pretty damn good! Especially compared to the last Terminator movie which oddly enough feels more dated than Terminator 1 & 2. Then we walked over to Macaroni Grill which is down the boardwalk from the theater. :food:

My food & beverage!

What I wore! The Tee is from YesStyle! It has those wide dolman sleeves. The pants are my fav loose fit jeans from college and the shoes I got last summer at Target!

These Blueberry Lavender sorbet pops on the left are from Target. They’re only 70 calories!! They’re not super tiny either. They taste pretty good too~ Also love into eating light chips! Light chips taste like regular chips. Just beware the olestra! Don’t eat them too much! But for the occasional sudden craving of chips I go for these.

I saw this in SCawaii. I couldn’t help but laugh at the hilarity of

:lovetalk:“Yes, we can buy it!”:talkend:

It reminded me of the shameless car commercials that came out during the election where they had an Obama impersonator selling new cars saying YES YOU CAN LEASE IT or whatever.
:haha:

Conan June 1st!

Conan O’Brien will be on Leno tonight! I’m SOOOO excited for Con’ie (what I call him) taking over the Tonight Show! I never really liked Leno. When I was REALLY young I watched Letterman instead. Then as a teen and up till now I’ve been a lover of Late Night with Conan O’Brien! But when I moved to DC the time zone change made it SO hard to catch the show! So the earlier time slot helps this old lady out, hahahaa!!

A little about my day

This week has just been… well, awful! I feel practically cursed with random things just not going right. Even today I had to end the day with my train home being canceled so I had to take the metro home. The train gets me home in 20 minutes… the metro, however, takes over an hour!! Plus I get so nauseous on it! AND some douchebag ALWAYS sits next to me or comes on to me! WHY!?!?!? I try so hard to look unfriendly on the metro but it never fails! Today this guy sat next to me and kept trying to make random “funny” side comments to me. I’m wearing headphones! It means I don’t want to talk to you! So I just nod once and I never speak to him. About an hour later I take my headphones out and grab my phone to call Mike and then the guy suddenly goes, “Well I think you’ve just been TOO talkative on our trip today!” … Excuse me!? OH, I’m sorry, I didn’t realize I was put on this Earth to entertain your trips home! He then tried to follow me out of the station but I did the fakey-shakey and pretended to go one way and dodged him. >O :girlrage:

Not to mention it was pouring when I arrived to the station and I got soaked straight through my clothes…

HOWEVER. When I got home (flippin starved!) I took a 40 minute long super heated bath … it made everything better. No, seriously, it really did! It was like a complete 180º :cutesy::ureshii:

The cup from the restaurant looks cute. I don’t know why. hahaa
And jesus, I love Target for awesome little pick-me-ups like that!! Numnumnum the taste of summer is coming~ :)
And what a creepy guy… T_T People can be so scary sometimes!!
At least you had a nice bath afterward lol ^^

  2. Trish says:

Isn’t Christian Bale in the Terminator? I’ll probably see it soon, lol. I love how you can wear regular t-shirts and jeans, and then just add some cute shoes and accessories and it looks super nice. I do it all the time, lol. Except I don’t wear girly shoes haha.
I love the YesStyle stuff, especially Smex, Rainy Brown, and Puffy. They’re just a bit pricy, haha. Oh gosh…not a fan of Barack at all. :P
Sorry you had a bad week; I did, too. Guys are so creepy sometimes…you have some pretty good techniques, though. :D

  3. Veronica says:

    UGH.

I used to work at a comic shop, which being a girl (and I think I’m fairly cute) was a disaster guy-wise. Really gross, really girl-neurotic guys who always said the wrong thing.

    BLAH

    • jenny says:

You poor thing! I can only imagine the torture you endured! The girl who works at the Japanese bookstore I see getting constantly tortured by over-aged otaku losers b/c she’s super pretty. Mike and I ALWAYS feel so bad for her.

You are more than “fairly” cute btw LOOOOl ;)

  4. Reena says:

I’m glad hot bath made you feel better!

Anyway, I totally understand you though, cause I used to face the similar type of situation before, but with a taxi driver or something like that. Some of them are ok, but some of them are just bleh, they talk loads and pretend they know you since ages. And the headphones don’t help too :(

PS. share the pasta! I want I want xD
    and take care :)))

  5. Kim says:

Light food can be sooo great because it’s light… and it doesn’t make you feel guilty!

  6. Leanne says:

    impromptu dates are the best!

hmm you would think people get the message when you have ear phones on..

  7. mawa says:

oh dude that guy is so creepy ;____; time to get some pepper spray if ever you have a chance~ lulz. but yeah, maybe your pretty looks attract douchebags? it happens to me a lot at work so i know the feeeling ;___; i hate it when they try to waste time (or some weird hidden agenda) just to chat at me, wtff.

anyway! wow i love the hats those girls are sporting, kinda military-like with some spunk. & LOL OBAMA HAHAHA omg.

i also like the fact that there are more and more “light” food popping up in stores, hopefully there’ll be more than enough enough to rival junk food! eeee~

    • jenny says:

      YES! Bizarre hidden agendas!

I hope light foods continue to strive toward tasting like the REAL THING!

  8. Caitlin says:

I love movie date nights. I just saw Up with my man, it was really good!

I am sorry you are not having the greatest week. I am sure it will get better! And just say no to creepy guys. Try to mostly look like you are talking on your cellphone, that sometimes works, lol.

Have you heard of Lush bath products? I know how you like your baths and onsen powders but I didn’t know if you had tried a lot of American brands too. Anyways, I have heard great things about Lush like their “Honey I Washed the Kids” soap and the “Rockstar” bathbomb that is supposed to smell like Victoria Secret perfume/scents.

Any recommendations for an easy to find great beginner onsen powder for someone who wants to get into enjoying baths again?

    • jenny says:

Ah yes LUSH! I really do like them (especially their Gold Star:
http://sushi-cat.net/?p=1114) but a reason I don’t ever talk about them is because I feel they’re SO expensive! A lot of things are 1-time use only for around $8.00 ;___; I think they make great gifts b/c they’re so nice but no one ever gets me any! LOOOL!!

American bath salts are hard to come by these days. I grew up using Calgon bath salt and it was AMAZING! I was able to get it until college, then I couldn’t find it anymore. Vaseline had been making a similar bath salt too but that too disappeared (at least in my area.) And US bubble bath is hard to find outside of the childrens section or super pricey at Sephora. Though Avon bubble Bath = the best bubble bath ever and pretty cheap just can’t buy in-stores.

I buy the Japanese stuff because it’s readily avaiable without me going out of my way to get it.

As for first time Onsen bath salts I’d try this:

      http://webichi.com/en/details/77623

It runs pricier than the cheaper products but it’s extremely worth it for first time! Lots of packets too & many Japanese models use it. If you’re looking to spend less, any one of these are decent. Their scents are milder and your skin isn’t left feeling as soft BUT they are enjoyable :)

      :)

      • Caitlin says:

Wow! Thank you for the reply!

I definitely think Lush is expensive too! It would be good to put on your wishlist or something or get Mike to take a nice bubble bath with you! Hah hah. I heard about Lush from make up gurus on Youtube and I just had to know if you liked it too! I think it is a nice treat but definitely pricey for everyday use. I hear that you can cut up the soaps and bath bombs so that they last longer. That might be more worth it.

        Thank you for the suggestions!

  9. Lissy says:

Creepy stuff always happens like that to me too! It makes me angry and I sometimes feel like I can’t go anywhere without being hassled unless I’m with my boyfriend.

  10. emm says:

    lol yes top 10 comments!
i LOVE leno! i like leno more than letterman not for any particular reason other than the fact that i feel like letterman stopped trying
    yeah ok lol
umm cute top! and i love your jeans
i have “baggy” jeans which aren’t..even baggy at all..sigh..

  11. lyc says:

  12. Anna says:

I love your outfit! And shoes!

I’m thinking about buying a couple of pants like that myself. Seen a lot of them in jmagazines =D

  13. cin says:

    I love the outfit! :D
That guy is so freaky O_o I hate it when people try to talk to you when you have headphones on.. Hope your weekend will be better :)

  14. Miamy says:

awww, cheer up. I had a long week too.
hope you feel better now. I know it will make you feel better when someone cares.
    gambateh!

  15. Yi Lin says:

mm the candy looks cute.. mm yea it is weird when people come up to you and just start talking to you when you obviously look like you don’t want to talk to anyone ie headphones, ipod, ds, psp!

  16. Nikolett says:

Aww, sounds like a cute date night out, with an awesome outfit :)

Sucks you got caught in the rain and on the metro, though … I’ve had the exact same experience, since I have to take 2 buses (1 hr total) to get home from uni. No matter how big the headphones are, people always ask ‘what time is it?’, ‘where are you going?’, ‘where did you come from?’ and they’re such creeps. >_

  17. dearsuet says:

wow..obama’s tee looks great ! your shoes are cute;pink and riboon : )

  18. Anonymous says:

    aww
hope your weekend is a lot better~

  19. Thao says:

Yes! I am so excited about Conan O’Brien coming to the Tonight Show since I go to bed early too and I don’t like Leno.

  20. Sumoni says:

Yay, for date nights! I haven’t been on one in a while. Those shirts were funny. “Yes, We can buy!” Oh, Japanese, so funny.

I can’t believe that guy! I just had a similar thing happen to me. I went to the store & Chris dropped me off so he could park. A Guy complimented on how I was pretty. I said thanks and made a beeline for the door. He opened it for me & asked my age. I gave a younger age hoping it would drive him off. Then the assbag followed me into the store! He asked if we could exchange #’s to go eat dinner. I told him I had a b/f. He said, “Just as friends.” I said, “He wouldn’t like that.” He said, “He doesn’t have to know.” Then he wrote down his # anyway & I was like, “Fine whatever!’ To get him to go away. He asked, “Was that your mom who dropped you off?” I said, “No, that was my B/F!” He said, “Well I’ll hurry up then.” I crumpled the # up & threw it away. I didn’t want to make a scene in the store, but I wanted the scream at him. Take a hint! Sorry that was so long, I just feel your pain.

    • jenny says:

Dear Lord!! I hate when guys are just total PREDATORS!! I often feel ashamed that I don’t overreact more. You just get in those situations and you don’t want to make a scene and you keep thinking they’ll take the hint and afterward you think “I just should have flipped him the bird and yelled like a psychopath!”

  21. Honeydew says:

You make me really want to go order some graphic loose tees from yesstyle now!!! I went out shopping today after work and couldn’t find a single asian and cute looking tee. D: I guess I’ll have to order them online now, though I hate paying for the shipping. =(

OMG. I get random people who talk to me on the train too. And I had my earphones on as well! Geez. People just don’t get it that when you’re listening to music, you just don’t want to talk to anyone.

  22. Moo-Shu says:

Omg those obama shirts! lol By the way I love the outfit you wore! I really want to shop at Yesasia but the shipping is soooo expensive.

I hate crazy weirdos on the bus and trains. Your encounter sounds so scary with him trying to follow you! Great dodging technique by the way hehe.

  23. Sara says:

Yey for spontaneous date nights! I haven’t been on one in a while. I mean, I went to one last night, but still. It had been over a month since.

Ugh, what a weird guy. I hate people like that. Normally, looking scary for me is ok because I guess I look scary so no one bothers me. But if I had my headphones on I let my guard down and then people bother me more. ._.
And I hate it when people try to talk through your music. It’s like, “It’s on loud for a reason; I don’t wanna hear your ugly yaking.”

  24. Jing says:

That drink looks so chilled and refreshing. What is it made of? Some sort of chocolate drink? Come to think of it, I’ve never purchased food from Target. Maybe just once? I prefer to get my foods from the grocery stores ^^

What a jerk (referring to the guy on the metro). Honestly, some people lack common sense and/or can’t take a hint. It’s like deep down they know you don’t want to be bothered, but they do it anyway because it seems “fun” -_- Good thing you had headphones with you ’cause I wouldn’t know how else to ignore him. And for him to have followed you, that’s just creepy. Looks like he wasn’t very smart since you were able to dodge him quickly :)

I truly believe that any shower/bath can wash aches and pains and a bad day away!

    • jenny says:

It’s a blended frozen mango and rum drink!

Yea I only pick up an occasional snack at Target like the frozen pops!

  25. Zoraida says:

Ewww creepy guys are just so…… they have no tactic at all. I’m sorry that your week was bad but yay, dates are always fun :)

Your drink looks so cool by the way!

  26. Sumie says:

nice outfit so cute! especially the jeans^^
there are so many strange people out there xD once someone asked me if he could join me walking home -___- i hope you never get seriously stalked!
did you already get the spring magazine with the snoopy&cher inspired bag?
    http://blog-imgs-24.fc2.com/n/o/c/noco4/20090523005537686.jpg

    • jenny says:

Ah yea! It’s so cute! I saw that but was just gonna let it go by and then my friend said she was going to go out and try & buy 2 hahahah!! So if it’s not sold out I’ll probably be getting it! Cher furoku sells out magazines so quickly! It’s so crazy!

  27. Ys says:

WHy are the guys on public transport always creeps? I have the same trouble :/ They’re always super rude too. The bath sounded like a good way to wash away the memory. Hot baths are my favourite ;)

Your ribbon shoes are so cute :)

  28. Leanne says:

Aw, love impromptu night outs! They always make you feel better after a lousy day D:

Urgh, I can never understand why but it’s like public transport is like the haven for creeps. There’s drunk ones, insane ones, ones that look normal but aren’t, and the list goes on and on *sigh* I got corned earlier in the year when some drunk guy was hitting on me in the train and all his friends were there too. Thankfully there was a nice normal guy sitting nearby but imagine if there wasn’t!

  29. hannie says:

your impromptu date night sounds like so much fun ~ and the best thing about it is that you live with your significant other! haha. i can’t wait for that.

  30. Courtney says:

That guy sounds like such a creepo!! Ugh. And I know what you mean! I hate when people try to force conversation and they don’t get the hint that you don’t want to talk. And it drives me CRAZY when some random guy I don’t know starts chatting with me when I’m wearing headphones…I thought when I switched from earbuds to proper headphones they’d stop but I guess not…good that you can relax it all away in the bath, though.

  31. Tori says:

    OMG, CREEPY MUCH???

I think the train in any major city is just skeezy. I only rode the subway ONCE when I lived in NYC, & then only because someone was with me, haha~ I hope you won’t have to take the metro by yourself again any time soon!

Also~ I LOVE LOVE the shoes with your outfit :) Anything with bows is absolute love!
