Getting Back Into the Swing

Tuesday September 14, 2010

Hello~ hello!

Why yes, THAT IS a TERMINATOR enjoying a lovely plate of pasta in this Italian Tokyo cafe! :mkpoo:

I’m writing this from my 2 day office retreat & training session. I’m still not normalized :;_;: and waking up at strange hours. It’s actually 4am here. :moon: I figured I’d type this up & then hit “post” when I get home. OoO *warning, NOT proof-read! haahaa!*

I’ve been back almost a week. :eep: But with work and basically only sleeping when at home, I haven’t had much time to get back into my “online world.” *sad, sad*

Tokyo was great~ even the uncontrollable barfing on day 3 and subsequent daily nausea and fatigue were all part of it! OoO Being violently ill in unfamiliar places just automatically changes your perspective. :;_;: But by the final days of my vacation I started feeling 100% better :D

OK, OK :star: I’ll just post some things that I think of when I reflect back~ it’ll be randomness, haahaaa XDv

Kanipannnn!
[official site]
It’s just a bread snack that encourages you to eat his legs off in certain order so to make him look like different things! From a crab to dragonfly to cicada to a cell phone XD

Donki sold larger pillow versions of him and I realllllly wanted him but when you buy 4 pairs of shoes you sacrifice room for cute un-necessaries lol :?:

ranKing ranQueen
[official site]
A store that carries everything from fish-shaped postcards to diet snacks to cosmetics and body care. :berry: Top 3’s to some even top 10’s. :star2: It’s like cosme.net in store form :twinkle: (oh the convenience!) Being a borderline OCD wacko :crap: this is like my holy grail of shopping. :crownkisses::lol:

PURCHASES

Fish shaped postcard! My friend has sent me the crab version of this!! I’m going to send this to my Dad on his birthday since he’s big on fishing

お姫様のおやつ [princess snack] diet cookies, lol. I just liked the packaging~ and kcal count! You’re supposed to eat like 5 of these a day??? I only bought 2, so… yeaaaaaaaaaa haahaa

[Official Site]
These are supposed to be a sorta diet cookie since it’s made without using sugar and low in calories. I think you’re supposed to eat 3 of them at night? I’m not sure… :cfaha2:

A different brand of sleeping socks. I had already bought the Qtto ones but just really wanted a backup pair for travel or something.

I was surprised to find that Body Fantasies (yes, that cheapo, drugstore brand, good god :smallcry: ) was “ranked” higher than Victoria’s Secret sprays. Then again even the inflated import/demand price was cheaper on Body Fantasies. :skull: Though both are at least double in original US price of course. I was excited to see the Sexy Body Fantasies being sold at Alta for like 20$ a pop because 2 years ago I sent my friend the gift set of that as part of her xmas gift! Lol. After I had seen the regular Body Fantasies in Vivi or smtg on a “BOOM” list *_* XD

Honey Toast
My absolutely (new) favorite dessert! A big fat loaf of english bread coated with honey and baked! Then topped with some ice cream & whip :D I had mine at a place called News Deli.

Honey Toast showcased outside of a karaoke bar (if I recall~~) :biglove:

BalanceUp クリーム玄米ブラン
[official site]
SOYJOY, coleslaw & corn salads, high energy jelly drinks too~
This was my daily diet for a couple of days b/c it’s the only thing I could keep down.

I’ve never eaten a soyjoy even though they’re in the US everywhere. But since I couldn’t keep much down I was trying to eat as much of these sort of things as I could. :facepalmcry: Also bought apples, peaches, and grapes but those are harder to bring “on the go” lol

Mini-towels/handkerchiefs
I bought 10! :rainbowtwinkle: Last time I was there I didn’t think much of them. :;_;: I just saw people using them to wipe the sweat off their faces. :supercry: Then in a public restroom I finished washing my hands but there were no towels or hand dryers! :ashock: Wtf. And my friend pulled out her mini towel & gave it to me, lol, SOLD! :mkpoo: I went & bought a Minnie & Mickey one. Used it to wrap around my water bottles to absorb the condensation. :D Then I found a billion other uses. :kissyheart: THEN I saw my friend had a Burberry one too! Takai takai!?!?! But she said they’re rarely over 10$ no matter the brand. :upheart: So I went to Marui and bought YSL & Betsey Johnson ones! Then I bought another Mickey one, a Totoro one, a Nice Clamp brand one, a Snoopy one, a Kiki’s Delivery one, a Peach John one…

and my favorite…

A Dayan one!

WEGO & Spinns
[Official Site]
[Official Site]
Store love. :twinklepink: That is all ;p

What else~~
Things are still REALLY BUSY for me right now. :ng: This work training, trying to settle back INTO work & my projects plus a Saturday all day work training session this weekend too. :smallcry: Then next Friday I leave again for the beach for a couple of days. :blushingcute: :orooro: So…. hum, I dunno.

I might be doing some photo-dump posts for a little bit? :dizzy: They’re fun & easy to do anyway!! :laughingheart:
MORE TO COME!!!!…

Oh.. what else was I gonna say? Hmmmmmm~~ :stressball: I’m just so freakin’ tired my mind is like… :F I’m just BRAIN DEAD from lack of sleep & whatnot. :skull:

I haven’t been online hardly AT ALL! :facepalmcry: And twitter sucks because I come back to find the Twitterberry app was bought out by RIM or something and so I downloaded the RIM official Twitter for Blackberry and it’s all buggy! >O I can’t reply or even tweet sometimes! UUUUUUUUUUGH!

Anyway. Sigh. I wish I could have just landed & gotten back into everything asap. But… things take time I guess~~~~ :cfaha2: :okicon:

I actually wanted to make a new layout too… but instead I just used my hiatus one with slight changes… LOL. I’ll fix it up a bit later this week if I can.

yeah japanese people are very conservative on paper usage, same inchina too, so i think this is pretty useful to have around XD

  2. Veronica says:

    rock on :D okaeriii~

  3. Thao says:

Welcome back! Readjusting back to normal life is always hard. Just take your time and we (the online world) will always be around when you’re ready.

So many cute things. How well do the sleeping leg socks work? I’m curious that I might try one.

    • jenny says:

Yea, I feel like each day I’m not online that it’s just, I dunno, slipping away!! MUST GRAB HOLD! It’s very anxiety-inducing LOL

I like the sleep socks (I’m using Qtto type right now, not these,) they really do keep my legs from bloating up overnight. I do the leg massages almost every night then slip these on and it definitely keeps my calves slim. Though they can get a little hot. I have woken up & taken them off a few nights.

  4. Suzu says:

    • jenny says:

      Thank you Tori!!
      I need to get to a clothes posts asap! Though I’ve only worn a few of my new things & only to work so the outfits were a bit conservative. Haven’t gotten to properly GO OUT since getting back ;_;

Ah, the vest is actually from MARPLEQ because it was thinner than the Rodeo Crowns one I was thinking of getting (I hate feeling like a puff ball, lol!)

  22. Honeydew says:

Aww…it must suck being sick on your trip! And then readjusting to normal time and life routines when you come back. I hope you’ll get back to normal soon~ :)

Those are some really cute mini-towels!

  23. Sara Mari says:

Hi there! Great to read your posts again, and your photos are so great I can’t wait to see more!

I saw those breads with the honey alot in Shinjuku, I was like “that’s crazy!” to eat a whole loaf of bread as dessert XD and I always eat Balance Up for breakfast in Japan. Too bad they aren’t low calorie TT

    • jenny says:

Thanks a lot! Ah, bread is my total weakness! I’d prefer honey toast over a slice of cake any day (I guess carbs over pure sugar XDDD) Yea, high calories, it’s the reason I never ate soyjoy in the states, I think the calorie amount is too high for a tiny bar! But since I couldn’t eat anything else while I was sick I was looking for items with the highest calorie amount that I could still keep down like those vitamin & energy jellies with 250kcal and stuff. I still ended up losing too much weight & looking disgusting that everyone kept saying stuff to me about it :(

  24. Sah says:

OMG! (*_*) Everthing looks soo beautiful and cute! I love all the brands and the fish post card! HAHA. I really miss your blog! PLEAASEEE post more photos of your trip ok?! Kisses :*

That kanipan is so cute! I wish I had seen him while in Sapporo.

And the hand towels! I never would have thought that they had so many uses! I was wondering why there were so many sold everywhere!

    • jenny says:

*feels special, ty ty!* I’ve actually updated my tumblr recently too thank god! They’re sold EVERYWHERE aren’t they!? I couldn’t believe it really. You could really get one in any brand or character you could think of!

  27. Jeannine says:

fslofkrog the bread crab is such a genius idea!
I’m so jealous of your purchases~ I want to see your 4 pairs of shoes~ I love shoes 8D kekeke
The red Mickey Mouse handkerchief is soooo cute~ It happens to me a lot where there’s no paper or dryer but it never crossed my mind to bring one lol

    • jenny says:

  40. heather says:

body fantasies ! ..I actually lovelovelove that tacky little line. I’ve bounced around with VS & other ‘nicer’[more expensive] body sprays & I end up wandering back to the drug store .__.
    feel better~

  41. cristal says:

You seemed to have a good time in Japan!! I loved looking at all the pictures.
I’ve got a few questions, Where was the YSL one sold and how much was it?
Out of curiosity, where do you keep the wet towel after you wipe ure hands? wouldn’t it make ure bag damp if you just put it straight into your bag?

    • jenny says:

Well the towel doesn’t really get soaking or even damp really. You just unfold it, dry your hands, then refold. They’re thick enough that the dampness doesn’t seep through and it’s always dry when I pull it back out. I got the YSL one at the Marui Honkan dept. store in Shinjuku.

  42. mishi says:

Haha, kanipan is so creepy.. and cute. O_O

A shop that has things ranked like that is an such an awesome idea D: You know how to shop at all the good places

    I really love that Betsey Johnson hand towel and the mickey one is sooo cute =) The only hand towels I have are of dorky comedians ^^;;

Looking forward to all future posts! YES

  43. Betty says:

    Welcome back!!

Your trip must’ve been amazing ^-^ I LOL @ your sudden handkerchief’s obsession. I guess it is true o.0. My bf’s mom told me there really isn’t paper towel in Japan and everyone carry a handkerchief. I wanna go to Japan to shop so much =.=

  44. Bianca says:
