Cassette iPhone Cover

Sunday April 03, 2011

Some people were asking where I got my cassette iPhone case from the previous entry. I bought mine at Strapya-World but I’ve seen it elsewhere like “online only” Urban Outfitters store. I really wanted it ever since I saw Emi with it a few months ago. :deco13: She always has the best iPhone cases. She’s a big inspo of mine actually, :deco10: I check her blog every day. It’s inspiring to me. I like her sense of style and her outlook on life. She seems very different from who she was 5+ years ago and that’s a bit of the charm to me. I used to not be very fond of her tbh…

She has her own collab phone cases out… I really like this one a lot

This cassette case comes with a stand too that looks like the old cassette cases. :ok: Ah~~ I used to record songs off the radio as a kid recording & re-recording over the tape until the player would finally eat the ribbon hahaaa! You could place scotch tape over the little tab areas of too, of let’s say a Christmas Carol cassette, and use it to record better stuff bwahahaaa~~ I did that ALL the time too. :deco8: Ah yeah~ so this case makes me feel a bit nostalgic though as a teen CDs became the norm so I’m not too nostalgic for cassettes. :P

I feel I’m sorta “getting behind” in blogging. I know I don’t update as much as before. I feel a little down lately. Or just tired? Yeah, when people ask my only response is “I’m tired.” All week I’ve had bad allergies from the trees blooming like dry eyes and runny nose. I’ve had to wear my glasses all week which I sorta hate. :;_;: I usually only wear my glasses at bedtime and maybe once a week. But I feel so unpretty in them. :drops: Usually I don’t even wear makeup if I have my glasses on, but since it’s been a full week I forced myself to at least do everything except eye makeup. It’s made it better~ I’m bizarrely getting use to seeing myself in glasses again, LOL. :?: I think I’ll probably go back to wearing contacts on Tuesday though. My eyes are feeling pretty OK now and my nose is no longer running and I’m not sneezing like crazy anymore :ok:

omg I used to do that with all my casette tapes back in the day too!! Me & my brother used to record our own little ‘radio shows’ & talk about people at school, rofl XD Oh, to be a bored child again…
I hope your allergies get better soon~ seasonal allergies are the absolute worst ;o; & I know exactly how you feel about glasses~ I feel totally fugs in mine too :(

YESSSSSS! Oh god the radio shows!!! Me & my friends did the same and it would be like 3 hours of us snickering about school and always evolved into SO WHO DO YOU LIKE! LIKE, LIKE LIKE!

Yeah I used to not have allergies after I moved here (was sooooo happy because I had horrible allergies before I moved!) But looks like I’m finally developing them again.

    Aw yeah mixtape nostalgia :D

Hope the pollen isn’t too deadly this year DX

I love that case! I’m nostalgic for casettes as well… However, I do remember unraveling a lot of the casette ribbons because I didn’t know what they were for and ended up having to somehow squish them back in because I would get in trouble…

This all makes me feel so nostalgic about my childhood and being intrigued by the world hahaha

And I also share the same thought about Emi… I used to not like her (don’t even remember why) but I like her so much now and I love her style!

    • jenny says:

Thankfully damaged cassette ribbons were easier to fix than scratched CDs!!

I think a lot of people might feel this way about Emi!? I heard she never got along with other models too… back in the day when she was on that JDrama & so on~~~

I noticed that iphone case in your previous post and was like “wow this is so nostalgic” lol.
And I’ve been using the same exact sentence: “I’m tired” all the time these days. Hehe. This is my only response when ppl ask me about anything… really, just wanna get everything done and graduate… sigh… senior year=exhaustion for sure…

I saw that case in your last entry and thought it was the cutest thing but couldn’t remember if you made a post on where you bought it or not. I guess this is my answer :3! Eki must be an inspiration to you just like you are an inspiration to lots of other girls, me included :D!

    • jenny says:

Emi is a total inspiration for me these past couple of months, she’s really come through in her blog lately :) And it’s sweet of you to say that, thank you!

I buy one and then I get sick of it after a couple weeks, then I need to buy another one xD

  11. I love that cassette tape case! It brings such fond memories back to me! I remember using cassette tapes to record my favorite songs on the radio! ^^ it seems SO long ago~~but I still have my cassette tapes! haha~

I know it feels to just feel so run down! I hope you feel better!

    • jenny says:

      It really does seem like a completely different time & place!! Cassettes aren’t even “retro” cool like records you know? No one collects them as a hobby it seems. They are lost & forgotten ;_;

  12. Marina says:

Oh, cassette tapes bring me back to my childhood! My dad used to have this (big) hand cassette recorder, my siblings and I used to tape over cassettes with our singing along to the radio (or in-front of the fan) or role-playing. We were such dorks!
We rediscovered one of the tapes a few years ago, so embarrassing! I think my sister over-played the tape trying to tease my brother, that now it won’t play.
I also remember trying to record my favorite songs from the radio and trying to get it just right. I had a friend once give me a tape copy of Hikaru Utada’s first album!

    • jenny says:

AH DARTH VADER FAN VOICE RIGHT!? :DDDD

Awe yea cassettes don’t last! We had some old one’s with high school garage band music Mike made and it wouldn’t play :( *so sad*

      • Marina says:

Haha…yes! My mom used to get so annoyed that we liked talking and singing in front of fan just to do that!

My dad has box old of cassette, I found a Blondie one in there that I tried playing once but it didn’t work :) . I bet none of them work now, but I guess the memories is what’s keeping him from parting with them.

  13. gem says:

i love how vintage pieces are coming back with today’s gadgets. i don’t think we have any like that case here in my country though so i have to get one online if ever i do get an iphone. casette tapes are awesome.

  14. Ys says:

That cassette-case is so cool :D I love the idea of one of those :)

I’m sorry to hear you’re feeling so meh. I feel like I’ve gone off my blogging since before the weekend. Maybe it’s just that time of year? I hope your allergies clear up soon. I think glasses are CUTE so I don’t think you’d look ugly in them at all.

  15. M says:

  19. Courtney says:

ME TOO…I haven’t blogged in a month and there’s just so much to say. I hate feeling so backlogged! X|

Hope you feel better…at least Spring is finally here!
    Do take care ok!

  20. [...] CASE 2: THE CASSETTE TAPE. My dear cassette tape case was actually the first case I ever got my hands on fro my dear phone – many a time it has conned those who do not know any better – many a time, people have wondered by I am holding up a cassette tape to my ear. Many a time, I have been given “OMG, CRAZY LADEH!” stares of undeniably disapproval and pity. Perks, of course, include the compliment factor – it really does look like an over-sized cassette tape! The bummer here is that the case can seem a little “loose” due to the all-round rubber consistency. It also manages to collect dust and bits of fluff and definitely cannot be placed in a pocket due to it’s bulk! Dear Jenny also has one of these in her possession – and talks a little about it here. You can purchase EVEN CHEAPER ones from different buyers, but I wanted mine quite quickly, so I purchased it from an Australian seller. PRICE: AU $4.85 PURCHASED: EBAY. [...]
