MiiA Catalog Looks

Saturday April 09, 2011

It’s really late but I felt like making a quick post. I’ve been getting around to scanning in some stuff for my “Lookbook” which is basically just magazine/etc images I scan in to keep on my iPhone! :P I have a few different folders. The main “lookbook” folder is full of outfits I can recreate with my own stuff. :deco10: Then I have an “inspo” folder full of inspiration (obviously) :deco9: but I don’t necessarily have all key pieces yet. The other is “hair & make” which is self explanatory. :?:

I brought back a crapton of shop catalogs from Japan back in Sept. :deco8: So they’re all autumn/winter but it’s still cold here so it’s fine. :rainy: FINALLLLLLLLLY scanning them in. Here are some from MiiA. I love their catalogs and their coordinates but the store itself, when I visited the 109 store had a very DIFFERENT :deco13: feeling than what the catalog gives off. I dunno~~ I ended up not buying anything because it seemed less appealing. :dizzy: But when I see these I re-lust the brand again.

Anywhooooooooo~~

I\’m really curious on how and why japanese always does such great jobs on matching the clothes >

To me the fashion sense is in direction relation to finding my own country’s fashion boring & mundane. Same ole same ole. The US has yet to fully embrace layering. It really is “You buy this dress, to wear as a dress and only a dress… NOTHING LAYERED ON TOP.” There are exceptions but it’s definitely not the norm. If you even wear a hat out everyone suddenly acts like you’re a fashion diva because hats in the US are hardly ever seen actually worn about in public *sad* But I’m just rambling on about how Japanese fashion is so much more appealing compared to what I’m used to seeing in US stores LOOOOOOOOL

I think half of my comment is gone..I remember I mentioned about I realised that the magazine catalog looks different with the actual stores..
And I totally understand what you meant!! >

        • jenny says:

Ah yeah you can’t use the other arrow b/c it eats comments. There’s a little note about it under the text field. Sorry!

Opps I think I know why..cause I’m using that symbol
          sorry for being a noobXD
my actual comment should be I think half of my comment is gone..I remember I mentioned about I realised that the magazine catalog looks different with the actual stores..
And I totally understand what you meant!! cause it’s the same in my country..layering, eye wear, colored hair, eye wear etc etc are hardly seen here ;’(
Anyway Thanks for your comment ;’) but you don’t have to comment on my blog

I AGREE! everytime i layer up/wear a hat i always get weird looks and i’m like ITS JUST LAYERS/A HAT T^T

i never knew MiiA had a bunch of really wearable coords that are my style! I usually just skipped over it as the covers never really called to me (shallow shallow hahaha). I’m going to go give them a try now – thanks!

    • jenny says:

Yeah it’s a pretty interesting and new brand still finding its footing. Some things are hit or miss bug I always like their coordinates. Usually interesting.

  3. Tori says:

I remember this!! Last a/w was sooo pretty on the catalogue, but I know what you mean~ for some reason the shops didn’t do so well translating the pieces :/

    • jenny says:

Yeah I need to check out their latest stuff. Looked Boho from their main splash page. Their coordinates are so nice but it’s hard to envision it when just looking at 1 item of theirs you know?

  4. Courtney says:

Nice! Winter/Fall clothes are really my favorite I guess. I can’t seem to feel as comfy in summer clothes. Some nice possibly-mori pieces too.
Hm…kind of makes me miss fall! But I love all seasons…
Do show us if you make a coord based on this! ;)

    • jenny says:

I really sorta FEAR summer this year. I don’t like many of my summer clothes from last year but I don’t want to spend a lot of money buying new ones and I’m not very inspired style wise yet for summer.

  5. Louise says:

just perfect! especially it’s autumn right now here in Australia * w *

    • jenny says:

I was thinking of your side of the world when posting these!? I was like, eh well, SOME ppl are going into winter so maybe it’s not a worthless post xD

  6. kamille says:

Jenny! those knee high boots are killer! must have!

  7. ada says:

    Me like it :D

  8. Vermillion says:

Awesome coordinates, thanks for sharing :D I currently like double breasted and duffle coats/jackets.

  9. Huynh says:

Thanks for sharing. Fall clothes are my favorite among the seasons but it’s basically summer here now (Florida).

    • jenny says:

Ah Florida. Fail seasons. xD I used to live in MS where it wasn’t much better. Having a “winter coat” was more of a luxury than a necessity LOL!

  10. jillian says:

gosh everything looks good here! :O They mix and match until the coordination is so stylish!! @__@

  11. Rubi says:

  15. Veronica says:

I love Miia! Great stuff :)

Thinking about doing another closet purge – major renovations! lol

    • jenny says:

OHH EXCITING! For spring/summer?? I just finished my last great purge. Two garbage bags full taken to donation & 1 huge box full sent to my sister. Now it’s just little things like my socks I need to do mini purges.

  16. Thao says:

Oooh I love the outfits. I never thought I would say this, but I’m starting to get bored of my plain jeans and T-shirt. I think my closet is entering a new phase.

    • jenny says:

There’s definitely times in life where t and jeans is all good but yeah. Mostly comes down to how you feel when you’re wearing your clothes. Variety is always nice xD
