Obligatory self-indulgent BIRTHDAY POST here! :celebrate:
Today has been a bit crazy but everything worked out in the end. lolol
I slept for 12 hours, I’ve been so exhausted lately you know?! Then went out and had a gumbo & beignet lunch at my favorite southern restaurant Louisiana Kitchen. Then got 2 needles jabbed into my ears followed by dessert in the form of bingsoo at my favorite yogurt place, Caliyo!
So I had mentioned trying to choose what I wanted to do for my birthday, well I got both the new perm & cut and Mike wanted to take me to get another set of earlobe piercings as his gift to me! :deco12: Actually I feel him leaving work early for my birthday was the bigger gift. It’s really hard to get him to take off work, lol, he’s a total workaholic and he always finds a reason NOT to take time off. So I really appreciated that. :deco6:

New haircut & perm~
I actually did this last week… since the perm has to set for 48 hours I didn’t want greasy hair ON my actual birthday. This is my second body perm, I had that first one back in November. I need to take a better photo now that I can finally wear my contacts again. My allergies ended as soon as the trees finished blooming!! yaaay LOL. My hair is a bit shorter this time around.
I bought a few new dishes a la self-bday gift from Anthropologie. They have an octopus on it OMFG I can’t even stand how much I love these plates!! ^_^
Marc by Marc Jacobs tote bag in khaki. I’ve recently realized I’m a tote-bag person. I have a few nice purses but I always default to a tote bag. :deco13: Usually Cher because I feel so deeply connected to it. :deco10: By I love Marc Jacob’s MBMJ line so much I felt this will get much use as well. I’m really happy with it. The quality, the color/design and the price :ok: Sorta a self-gift. I used a bit of tax return money we set aside for “spending” my self-gifts lol :suki:
The place I went to, to get the piercings at, the piercing guy was OUT!! :drops: I was so bummed out :ng: I was already feeling shitty because I received a summons for fuckin Jury Duty :angry: … on my gd birthday!? :mad::angry::mad: C’MON!!! Now the 1 thing I really wanted today was looking grim too. :deco13: But we went and ate at my favorite restaurant. I love it there. The food is authentic and the owner always remembers us and is nice to chat with. I felt better~ :deco10: plus it was at around 4:00 so the restaurant wasn’t quite busy yet so it was quiet. :deco15:
Ended up going to ANOTHER piercing place and turned out great. :suki: The place was really clean and super friendly :up: and the girl was patient with me being particular with where I wanted the piercings placed! It hurt like a bitch of course but I did fine. Mike said he was proud I didn’t cry. JAAAAHJAHAH. I just stared at the wall and let out a sarcastic but very honest “ouch” afterwards. :?: :P
THANK YOU EVERYONE who tweeted, facebook’ed, text’d, emailed me today wishing me a happy birthday! I really appreciate it. :) My birthday is one of the few times a year I miss living by my family so I appreciate feeling… I dunno, not so lonely! :deco15:

i know how bummed out you are about glasses. i’m stuck with mine too since i have an eye infection. & then the week before i stayed off it as well since my eyes were red & the ONE day i wore contacts they were super red again so now im back to glasses. but at least this time around i went & got it checked so i have drops to combat it haha -

happy birthday!!! birthdays are a lot of pressure huh? it’s that one day of the year when you try hard to make it perfect, but somehow 1 or 2 bad things still ruin it. but in the end, you try to convince yourself that the day went perfect even if it really wasn’t. LOL. i’m afraid to get piercings, though i really want to. and a tattoo! but i feel like i just want to do these things for fun, and that i’d regret doing them when i’m old.

Happy birthday! Aww, you’re so brave for getting a second ear piercing. I’ve always kinda wanted to get a 2nd ear piercing but my ear & my ear lobes are rather extremely small, so I was always afraid it would hurt a lot more than my first piercing. lol.

Sounds like a busy day xD Did you get your ears pierced w/ one of those guns or did they use an actual piercing needle? I always here th needle is better.. hmm
In order to not have them close up- def never leave them w/out earrings for even half a day T^T I lost 4 holes that way… it takes so dang long for the holes to stay xD

I knew it was coming up but I forgot when exactly so I’m wishing a happy birthday a day late instead (or 2 depending on your timezone). The betsy johnson mix’n'match earrings are really cute! I think they suit you perfectly hahaha. The new anthropologie plates “20 thousand leagues under the sea” XD XD. Once I saw the giant octopus and wimple white and dark blue colouring I was like “oh my…. 20 thousand leagues under the sea??” hahaha. Piercings always hurt but I find that with needle piercings heal faster (at least for me). So you’ll be wearing lots of pretty earrings soon in no time! And LOL omg totally failed when I first looked at your MJBMJ tote picture XD ahahaha. I though the brown leather logo thing was the entire bag and kept thinking to myself “wow… is it just the angling or is the bag really smaller than the tag?” Until I realized that no, you didn’t take a picture of the “bag” on a cute background, that was really the bag itself! LOL omgFAIL XD. The haircut and perm look fabulous as always and I’m jealous you can pull off both short and long hair equally well hahaha. Hope this year is filled with happiness, joy, and good health! -

Love the hair, it looks great :) I’ve never had a perm, but I’ve always toyed with the idea since my hair is so straight. I’ve always wanted smooth waves, or at least some body to my hair. After my older cousins got a perm once when we were young, it has always kept me from going through with it since I’m afraid that it will be more poodle poof/80’s curls than pretty waves.
