Black Wedges with Lace Socks

Jun 14, 2011

The American Apparel socks in action plus some new’ish shoes I got at the outlet mall. I haven’t had many chances to wear them but I will soon. :deco5: They’re surprisingly easy to walk in, sort of gliding feeling. :deco14:

I wasn’t planning on blogging tonight but I was feeling a bit hyper so here I am! :deco9: I was talking with Mike about the issues I’m having again with my … hmmm.. guts. LOL~ :dizzy: I’m going to avoid back story etc. :;_;: blah blah blah. He was really supportive and helped me narrow down what changes were needed to get my digestive system back on track. Basically I’m in a perpetual state of bloated-ness often painful despite medication + supplements + healthy diet. :;_;: If nothing changes in the next few weeks I’ll be going back to the doctor. :ng: I’m feeling good though, I think I found the real trigger today after talking about what has changed in recent weeks food-wise. :P Digestive problems run deep in my family and as I get older I get to feel the full wrath of my unraveling DNA lolol Sorta hoping it’s bad side-effects from using Truvia. Yea, I use it like… DAILY sometimes in mass amounts. :deco13: Read today it can cause my EXACT symptoms. So here’s hoping! :ok::ok: Back to Splenda for me :P

The jade polish. :deco7:
This polish is so… different to me! I’m always surprised whenever I see it! :deco15: It clashes so much with things I wear,… but in a sort of bold good clashing. :deco8: I’m really liking it. It’s nice to get a break from my usual red or glittery orange rut I’ve been stuck in lately. :deco11: Just looked at my feet which are red and glitter gold

OH! Funnily enough Rinka updated her blog today with Jupiter pre-views! Yeah, she’s back to blogging again ALREADY! She has blogging in her blood, man ::9:

They’re charity bracelets with proceeds of course going to quake victims. Rinka x Sweet charity t-shirts apparently raised a ton of proceeds already~~ :deco10: I’m sure these will sell well too. :deco10:

OK~ I’m super exhausted now. Going to bed! :deco16:

  2. Charlene says:

I love the socks with those shoes! Really cute! I’ve seen that style a lot with Korean girls and I just love the way they can pull that look off, classy elegant. Mm…I really agree with nail polish too! It’s quite pretty!

OH! Going to Annapolis today at The Fresh Market, I saw the South Moon Under store and remembered your post so I took a looksie! Love the boutique-ness. And was surprised when my mom touched a shirt and was like…real silk! I’ve never touched real silk before..T_T lol Expensiiiive. Lots of pretty things though!

    • jenny says:

Hahaha really!? You stopped in!? Ah they should pay me for advertising right hahahaa! Yea it’s really boutique style. I just love to go in, look around, try a few things on. No pressure, just fun :D

  3. Ingrid says:

Love wedges! I bought a white pair this summer and I’m already weeping about its inevitable doom (RE: dirt).

    Love the Rinka bracelets!

  4. I absolutely LOVE your shoes! :)
I wonder if I can pull of socks with heels/wedges as well as you. Probably not T_T hahaha! ^__^

I hope that your digestive system gets better (that felt weird to type out). I understand what you mean, though. I’m suffering a bit of a problem with my digestive system which is jacking up my metabolism x__x or well…my there lack of metabolism hahaha.

    • jenny says:

Awe you should try it though! Sometimes I like it and sometimes it looks off so I definitely have to consult my mirror first xD

Hope you start feeling better too. Our bodies are fine tuned machines that require so much patience D:

  5. Miya says:

So sorry about the digestive problems! I know what thats like. I had horrible issues as a child but as soon as I started monitoring my diet more things helped. Its different for everyone, but I cant eat super quickly or large amounts. And obviously any sugar messes with me. I LOVE YOUR BLACK WEDGES!!!!

    • jenny says:

I appreciate you saying it’s different for everyone. Quite true. I’ve had varying problems for many many years now on & off. Eating healthy cured some past issues about 3 years ago but definitely a wrench got thrown into the mix recently!

  6. Dena says:

Love the wedges and nail polish!

  7. Vermillion says:

    Those socks look so cute!

I hope that you can figure out what’s making you have digestive problems ^^ It’s great that you have support from Mike :D I think sometimes it’s nice to have someone to discuss your problems with.

    • jenny says:

It’s surprising the things you realize when you actually discuss it with someone else rather than just over-analyzing it to yourself over & over.

  8. Tori says:

The socks look so cute with your wedges! ♥ & I’m really digging the colour of that polish, haha~
I hope it is just the Truvia that’s causing your tummy issues~ I have a really sensitive stomach too so I know how you feel!! ;x No fun~

    • jenny says:

I know, you don’t feel like yourself wen you’re like this right!? It’s been so difficult. I’ve had issues on & off in the past but I’ve actually been missing work due to it lately. Hope it’s just Truvia side-effects!

  9. Sara Mari says:

I love wedges, and using the lacey socks with them makes them very girly/sweet which matches your style perfectly.

I was just about to say, is that truvia the sugar alternative, and then you mentioned splenda and then I realized haha. Yeah in my house we always use splenda, or aspartame…XP because my mom can’t eat sugar either.

  10. Chanel says:

I didn’t know that lace socks and wedges look soooo adorable together !! :3 ITS SO CUTE !

    -Chanel

  11. kamille says:

omg. I have digestive problems as well…. and weak stomach! I don’t take fatty fried foods or anything that disrupts my diet routine. It really sucks. I get scared to eat many things, but now I think I’m much better. I just started drinking lots of fluid and making sure I get sufficient amount of food. I took nutrition last spring, and I learned that taking only the vitamins you are deficient in is good enough. I don’t mean to be a health nerd, but I had the same problem :( btw the rinka bracelets are so cute

  12. Fuuka says:

Fake sugars are the source of many people’s problems. I found out they caused me to get zits. If you don’t want real sugar, Agave Nectar is the best alternative.
For your tummy problems buy Kefir at your local health food store. It is a type of probiotic drink that has 10 probiotics. You can get it in multiple flavors. My favorite brand is Lifeway’s Blueberry. If you cannot have milk they make coconut milk versions as well.

    • jenny says:

Awe yay I already use agave!! I put it on toast :D

I’m on multiple probiotic and plant enzymes right now. I’ve been on them for about 2 years, so I know they aren’t the root cause thankfully.

  13. mei says:

    Wow it’s so cute :D

  14. Honeydew says:

Rinka’s charity bracelets look so sweet and cute~ And I love your new lace socks. Funnily, when I was a little girl, I used to love wearing lace socks. However, as I grew older, I find them looking too “girl like” as in the kid way? I know they are used a lot in the jmagazines but it’s only a popular trend in Asian countries. It’d be so weird for me to be wearing them out in an American country like Canada without having people stare me with weird looks, especially if I’m wearing them out in this hot weather. lol.

    • jenny says:

I’m the opposite! I HATED frilly socks and dresses etc until I was about 16 :Dv

Usually I find when I wear a trend that’s big overseas but not in the US I get complimented. And in my city, a city where strangers SERIOUSLY do not talk, that’s kinda a surprise! I understand though. People will stare, etc, but even when I’m dresses normal Jcrew boring as hell people stare so whatevs :3

  15. aw i’ve stomach bloating problems too…started taking gavinscon but dunno if it helps that much…but cutting out sweet stuff & coffee etc. did help me tho~~

    • jenny says:

Yea I cut out my Starbucks a few weeks ago hoping it would help but no dice =Y I was drinking it before I started having problems though so it was probably a pointless move to begin with. I had a very drastic overnight change about 2 months ago.

  16. Firipa says:

health issues always manage to put us down… recently i was having anemia, but i changed the food i was eating and took some supplements and i’m getting better now! i wish it will happen the same for you ;) if not, then you must see the doctors (oh noes, i hate going to the doctor).

super cute wedges with socks! i’m waiting for the rainy days to stop here so I can eventually wear mine too.

those bracelets are soooooooo cuuuute! i seriously want one *_*

    • jenny says:

Glad you’re feeling better! I had anemia as a teen mostly because I hated eating meat and worked long hours after school. It’s a tough situation. Always feeling crappy.

      Yea, I’m gonna have to go back to the doctor’s if nothing changes soon. I’m already on so many supplements, etc for it. I’ll have to stop & start over from scratch. I hate it. So much time and money and often you end up back at zero. ;_;

  17. Lily says:

those jupiter bracelets are so sweet!

  18. Amanda says:

You should try yoga for better digestive it might help a little. Just look it up on youtube! Hope you feel better soon!

The shoes look very good ♥

  19. My Linh says:

Aww… love the shoes with the socks!!! And your nail polish, too. (You have beautiful legs, btw… haha)

I hope you will get better soon!

  20. Joey says:

The shoes and socks combo is so cute! You must show us an outfit post with it soon :)
    Hope you feel better soon
    xx

  21. Sah says:

Hi Jenny! This shoes look amazing + the socks are super sweet! I looks cute and girly together! :D
And, about the Digestive problems, I know EXACTLY how you feel, I have this kind of problem in my family too. I already went to the doctor a few times, and you know what really helps me, eating a lot of fruits!
Kisses and have a nice day! :D

    • jenny says:

Awe thank you dear! Oh that helped me a few years ago too! But I still eat multiple raw fruit every day so sadly it mostly likely isn’t the cause. :( Thank you though!

  22. Jenny says:

ohhh those shoes are super cute :D i’ve always wanted some kinda like that but i fall over in heels of any kind xD

  23. Veronica says:

Aw yeah, been rockin the mint nails even though they are really hard to match, haha

    Lilac, too :)

    Hope you’re feeling okay!

  24. Cindii says:

Ahh, cute look! The nail polish looks good on you.

Those bracelets are so so pretty.

  25. Bianca says:

Love the jade love the shoes/ socks combo …didnt know trivia caused problems …..very interesting. Probably why major companies still use splenda. Feel better Hun!

    • jenny says:

I had no idea either. I was just trying to think what I had changed about 2 months ago and it’s the only thing that fit that I HADN’T tried eliminating yet. And yeah, TOTALLY would explain why it’s not on cafe tables despite being out so long already!!!

  26. Mika says:

So so cute ! I love it, it matches really well ! :D And the bracelets are so cute :o Rinka is such a beautiful model, I love going on her blog (^ – ^)

  27. Tasja says:

    Great wedges :D

And those bracelets are cute ^^
But I guess that you can make your own like that easy!

    • jenny says:

That’s so true! Well these are for charity but us state-side people could definitely get the look using DIY and saving on triple overseas shopping fees!

  28. Rubi says:

I really hope you truly found what has been causing your tummy aches, so that way it can stop!! It is such a horrible thing to have to deal with, I hope you feel better soon!
& I must say that I have absolutely fallen head over heels in love with those shoes!! I really hope you can tell me what brand there are?
    && those bracelets are beautiful!
&&& that green is one of my all-time fave. colors, reminds me of pistachio ice-cream and my mom :P

  29. Monda says:

I must have those socks! I definitely will buy ‘em!

I also like your nail color, by the way!

    • jenny says:

YAAY~~ If you get them you’ll love em, they’re a great height so lots of versatile looks to be had! Also lots of color combinations to choose from in store!

  30. Sami says:

Such cute pictures of your wedges!! :D
and the bracelets are so adorable :O :O

  31. zoraida says:

mm the lace softens the shoe and the shoe gives the lace edge! i likey i likey. they also look real cute with your new jade polish! i hope you feel better though :) recover quickly so you can go out and have fun!

  32. Timi says:

Wow, those wedges look crazy cute with the lace socks! I’d try something like that too, but lace socks are really rare to find… (;_; )
I hope your stomach gets better. Actually I just read the newest post where you write it’s not that bad already, but be careful (or something idk what you have to do)! :I

  33. Ys says:

I totally sympathise with your stomach problems. They run in my family too. My mother and sister get REALLY ill. My sister couldn’t eat anything for a long time when she first got ill. She had to keep a food diary and that way they were able to pick out what food was upsetting her. But still, about three years on, she’s still often caught out by food :/

I love those shoes, by the way. And they look adorable with the socks :)

  34. omg those wedges are amazing!

Ugh, I feel you on tummy troubles. Mine is just… a mess sometimes. I really hate it and can totally understand :( I hope you get things figured out soon!

  35. ada says:

    your lace socks= TOOOOOOOO CUUUUUUUTE :D *.*

  36. mishi says:

Ah… don’t you love the magic of genetics… getting older just gets scary =/

    hope you get better asap.

Strange nail colors are the best nail colors. I still remember the time my co-workers stopped in mid sentence and said my nails were the weirdest thing he had ever seen (they were white)

  37. Huynh says:

Your shoes are so cute with the socks :)

  38. Courtney says:

Those shoes are great…even better knowing they’re comfy! :P
