Sweet x ACUVUE Define Lenses

Saturday July 30, 2011

In this month’s Sweet I noticed there was an advertisement x tutorial (I guess advertorial? I dunno what to call these,) where they mashed up promos for Acuvue’s “Define” 1-Day contacts with natural makeup tutorials because these are Acuvue’s subtle version of circle lenses.

I REALLY want these lenses. The Natural Shine ones are so prettttttttty Because they’re Acuvue I feel there’s a glimmer of hope they’ll eventually be made available to the US market. They even go as high as -9.00 so I’d be able to get my prescription strength So far I can’t find them though. Only on international circle lens sites or sorta sketchy looking medical sites. It would be amazing to have them sold legitimately in the US because then I could use my insurance to basically buy super duper comfortable circle lenses!! So far though all I can find is an old announcement on the official Johnson & Johnson site stating they were made for China(?) But obviously they’ve expanded on that and seem to be sold throughout Asia now.

I already use Acuvue lenses as my daily wear lenses

Anywho, here’s the official Japanese promo site. And now for the Sweet scans

Those look sweet!! I wish they had them available here for prescription use…

    • jenny says:

Yeah I’d love to get these officially at the doctors. And because they’re Acuvue they come in a good high line of prescription options! A LOT of circle lenses don’t go high enough into my strength so I can’t even wear them but these go to -9.00 which us what I wear. Sigh. I hate when the North American market is ignored for more “beauty” driven items. X(

I hate wearing the geo lens and other brands because they are so thick. Acuvue is my normal brand so I am pretty happy with them. But I don’t know if I would get my insurance to cover them. It all depends if I get the regular ones covered or these.

  2. Tori says:

That’s really cool! Hopefully they will be available in the US market sometime soon :)

    • jenny says:

Hope so too, would be fun to just have a box of these to switch out with my daily wears. Circle lenses that could actually stay super comfortable in an office environment fir 8+ hours would be a dream xD

  3. Tiffany says:

Oooh those are pretty! I used to have a pair from Freshkon called Alluring Eyes and they were basically the same thing. I was so sad to find out they didn’t have them in the US

  4. Huynh says:

Those are really pretty and so natural :] It would be nice for them to spread to the US like BB cream.

  5. Souno says:

Thats cool! I would get them but they don’t have many choices to choose from. I also heard GEO might become US FDA approved sometime; you never know though.

  6. Honeydew says:

Those are really sweet and natural looking circle lenses. I especially like the ones in the 3rd scan, very natural! I also like how these circle lenses aren’t as big in diameter compared other circle lenses so it’s more natural and pretty to wear. It’s like just adding shine to your natural eyes! *_*

I heard circle lenses are banned to be sold or imported to the U.S.?! I’m not too sure if it’s true but I know here in Canada they’re not so against it. lol.

  7. Libby says:

OMG, I wanted these lenses for so long!! (I really like the 3rd one.. are those the Natural Shines?) I saw these type of Acuve contact lenses w/ the black circle for sale on a sketchy online contact lens site, but didn’t know how well they’d work. I really hope they come to the US too, but it’s rather unlikely since there isn’t a massive natural circle lens demand here in the US (nor do I see US contact lens manufacturers catering to the “majority Asian” demands for circle lens-esque contact lens). They should though because I think they’d be surprised at the interest in these Acuvue lenses. I love my Oasys lenses, and wear only Acuvue as my daily clear lenses.

  8. Alyse says:

I’ve been using the vivid style 2 week lenses for about 6 months and they’re really great. I wish the colorful dailies came in a monthly version. Maybe if it becomes more popular, they will (*´∇`*)

  9. Ellie says:

aw maaan i could’ve used these scans for today’s makeup -_- so pweetttyyy

  10. winn says:

Yay! Thanks Jen! A few months back I had a choice between the normal and the circle lense version but there were no samples so I couldn’t tell how they’d end up :D

  11. Magda says:

The lenses look sooo natural on the models! I love their natural and cute makeup (^_^)b Maybe you can get similar lenses in USA though?

  12. Tiff says:

Oh those gray ones in the last picture look gorgeously natural! But I am just too lazy to wear lenses of any sort now…

  13. sukipooki says:

Omg I need these ASAP! I also wear Acuvue regularly as my daily lenses and I’d loveeee to get these!!! Perhaps with time we can order these off ebay hahaha better than shady medical sites! Though they’d probably charge an arm and a leg for them T_T

  14. Firipa says:

the last ones are so pretty and natural :3
it is possible they get into the us market, circle lenses are so popular nowadays, even for non-asia lovers.

  15. Cindi says:

I wish they come in as monthly lenses =(

But these look so natural and comfortable. I would be willing to get them from Asia if they weren’t daily use and disposable

  16. Hyunaa says:

My friend from Korea told me that her eye doctor told her that these lenses are basically the same as acuvue 2 week lenses, and that she doesn’t actually need to throw them out after one use. She just uses them for around 1 and half to 2 weeks and throws them out :)

  17. Sara Mari says:

Though its too small amount of makeup for me, these makeups are very typical Japanese style so it would be useful for so many women! I don’t know if these will ever make it across the ocean, but I am hoping for you!!

  18. i really do hope these do come over. comfort plus!

  19. nomake says:

I have them! in natural shine and they are SUPER DUPER comfy! Though they are daily lenses, i always wore mine much longer about a week before i trash them. The comfort level is huge! i love them!

I ordered mine online through a site a called LensAlot based in the UK but free shipping! Acuvue define was recently brought over to the UK. I hope they bring it to the U.S. market soon!

  20. Courtney says:

They definitely do like shiny & super natural. I suppose they were just going for a natural look here and have other colors? :)

  21. Alisa says:

So you use circle lenses with prescription strength? How is is it? I never tried these…but I really want to try some…it’s annoying to wear lenses with glasses every time.

    • jenny says:

It’s the same as wearing Plano only you can see lol. I dunno how to answer this haha. Why do you choose to wear Plano and not the prescription? Is your prescription unusually high or do you have bad astigmatism? My prescription is a little high so it limits brands and styles a lot.

      • Alisa says:

I dont have any special reason. Just did not try it out until today. My prescription is high, yes!!
And yes, I have astigmatism :( Is this a problem?

        Thanks

        • jenny says:

Astigmatism is only a challenge if you use daily wear contact lenses that correct astigmatism right now. There are some circle lenses that have astigmatism correction but not many. I have astigmatism but it’s not bad enough to need correction it with special contact lenses.

I guess a better question is “Do you currently wear daily contact lenses?” Because really you just have to match the circle lenses to you daily wear specifications :)

  22. cin says:

Oh I mist try this if I ever get contacts since it’s more natural than circle lenses :D
