Skinfood Tomato Wrinkle Sun Cream
Tuesday June 18, 2013
Despite my best efforts of choosing primers and bb creams with SPF in them, I still found myself coming home from a summer’s walk through the city somewhat rosy. All last year, and the year before, I constantly “let it happen,” however even slight sunburn can leave dark spots as you get older. And I’m beginning to see the real effects of casual sunburns. I needed a real sunscreen for the weekends.
I received Skinfood’s Tomato Wrinkle Sun Cream care of Yesstyle.com. I started using it a few weekends ago and really like it. I had good results with Skinfood’s Tomato Spot Serum already so felt confident with this series.

It feels lightweight, absorbs quickly, layers under makeup well, and doesn’t cause acne. It goes on more like a primer than a facial sunscreen. Plus it works. The times I’ve forgotten to wear it out on the weekend I’ve come home with a bit of a burn.
I was able to compare it to another of Skinfood’s sunscreen, “Carrot Sun Cream.”

It was a sample size. Worked great, however, it was thicker and more “sunscreen-like.” Which is good for a day at the beach or hiking in the mountains. I have products for those activities already.
This was more about finding a better “daily wear” sunscreen and the Tomato Wrinkle one really fit my needs. Very happy.

How about the scent? I’m really curious how it smells because I mostly cannot stand a stinking smell hahaha.

Oh wow you do you burn easily? I just try to stay away from the sun when I am out. I will just walk on the street where there is more shade. I would hate having dark spots on my face but so far I don’t have any yet.

I have skin food sunscreen too. Love your review. hehe

Does it give a gray cast? I had this issue with some BB creams.

I use Banana Boat’s Protect & Hydration sunscreen SPF 50+ on my shoulders! I’m dark-skinned and I still get burned so I always go for high SPFs! As far as my face goes, I use Philosophy’s Hope in a Jar with SPF 25. Thankfully I haven’t been sunburned since I moved to DC. *Crosses fingers*Bathes in zinc oxide*

It sounds like a great sunscreen, but after you apply it, does it remain sticky? I’m been trying to find sunscreens that won’t remain sticky because I really don’t like that icky feeling ):

What body sunscreens do you use? I’ve tried some but haven’t found one for everyday use that doesn’t make me feel sticky :/

I have gotten really good about wearing sunscreen on my face everyday and even my décolletage but I always seem to get burned on my shoulders so I am worried about getting into a routine that constantly involves my shoulders!!

My mom has those spots and she is trying to find good sun protectant for her face. I think I might get her this, especially if it works!

I have really oily skin but I also burn really easily in the sun. Ive been looking for a new sunscreen and was wondering if this sunscreen dries matte or if it leave the skin oily and sticky ?
