Been crazy busy for the most part. Work has gotten so crazy I finally asked for a raise. I should know next week how much increase. I requested no less than a dollar increase. We will see.

My paycheck was much more than expect this week because I’m finally seeing the extra hours I’ve been putting in this summer. Even though the evil Bush administration has taken 70$ of it in taxes >_<*.

Got to spend a nice day w/Mike shopping & going out for dinner. We went to the tiny little asian market that’s over an hour away. We had to pay a visit to the town anyway because we had to visit a bank that’s there. I got ALOT of candy. Most of it’s for my sister birthday. I got some cheap 6.99$ shoes too this week along with my pre-ordered manga.

My mom burned her arm a few days ago at work (she’s a cook.) Well, she went to the hospital today because it was so painful still and they said she’ll more than likely have to get a skin graft. They are giving it a week, but it doesn’t look good. My mom keeps wanting to go to work because she’s afraid of getting too far behind in money. I’m begging her to not worry bout it and that I’ll help out as much as I possibly can. I feel so bad that I can’t be there with her. She says she feels okay now, but sigh. I know she’s scared to get the skin graft and I think she’s just trying not to make me worry.

This makes my earlier bitching bout my bank seem so small. le sigh. I want to throw her a little get better soon thing together, but can’t afford much now since I gotta save. Any ideas?

   Ugh, I know the pain of taxes. I lost about $100 to taxes on my last paycheck. *grrr*

   How about knitting your mom something? You’re good at that =)

   my brother works part time as a chef at this jap restaurant and he burned his finger. it was nasty. i hope your mom won’t need the skin graft. =P

    don’t feel bad about your taxes.. I get around $300 taken from my paycheck >.< … all I can say is I’d better be getting a big refund!!

    wOAH! look @ all the cute stuff ~~ even though you have taxes. you have NO IDEA how heavy the taxes in canada are. all the money goes to buying giant ferries and then not using them or getting drugs for the homeless =_= stupid government

    Jen, you’re such a good writer and artist, and Mum’s are sentimental… why don’t you make her a mini book and write and illustrate some of your happiest Mum-related childhood memories? Should be quick and inexpensive to put together, and quite therapuetic for you both…
