I’m back from PA
Sunday, 5月/20日 [2007年] // 22 Comments
I’m back! See, that wasn’t too long. I’ve been in Pennsylvania for the past couple of days for a wedding!! Feels good to be home now though. I had a slight bit of culture shock. There are things I’ve taken for granted living around DC. For starters, I HATED that everything wasn’t smoke free there!!! GAHHHHHHH!!! I forgot what having smoking sections in restaurants was like. ew. However, I didn’t miss a ton of ASSHOLES on the roads and the honking for no reason people. All in all the little trip has made me realize a few things…
- ELOPING IS NOT A MISTAKE
I actually thought the wedding would make me want a big wedding all over again. But on the contrary it reaffirmed my reasons/feelings for eloping! We even got thanked by family members for wanting to elope (less hassle for them! They said just being happy for us and letting them send a gift would be the GREATEST thing we could do for the family.) - I love Mike and can’t wait to be his wife
- I LOVE my life including job, location, and everyday hassles
So yea, dancing, drinking, and a bit of chaos. And I’m home in 1 piece!

Now later this week my old friend visits! I’m going to be so tired come June.

It’s great that the weekend confirmed your wedding plans… it’s all about what YOU guys really want, not anyone else!!
Love ya Jen!

I’m glad that you had fun. I’m also glad that you and Mike are so deeply in love with thoughts of eloping. That helps me believe that a wonderful marriage is out there for anyone.

eloping would be so romantic
but you should do a vegas wedding just for kicks and giggles, and invite everybody

What a sweet and sincere post! I’ve been with my boyfriend for 5 years now. I have NO idea when we plan on getting hitched or under what circumstances but to be honest, I’m happy with the way things are right now!
May 21, 2007 @ 4:32 pm
ps. in your real wedding (other than the vegas one
) you should have kitties as bridesmaids and bridegrooms!!
May 21, 2007 @ 6:34 pm
haha sounds like fun! Gotta love the hecticness of weddings.. even if it triggers feelings of eloping!
I hope you have fun with your visiting friend too. xox

Speaking of eloping, that’s what my English teacher did when she went to Thailand. It was pretty funny.
That’s also what my cousin did. She went to Hawaii and came back as a wife. We were all shocked because her mom wanted to have a big wedding, but her dad was happy since it didn’t cost him a thing. Hahaha

Gah, I always hated visiting the western part of PA since my ex-boyfriend’s family lived there (now I don’t have to ever again!!!). In Philly, bars are smoke free
Eloping sounds so much nicer than a big, drawn out, overpriced wedding. More romantic, too
Yay to happiness!

^______________^ welcome back Jen!!!~
I could never elope….because my family would never forgive me hahaha….Armenian weddings are always huge(like my big fat greek wedding)…it is a requirement to celebrate big~
I hope you have a nice time with your friend!!~ I love it when old friends come and visit….bring back nice memories~
Hope you have a wonderful week!~

So that’s where you were?! Well, that wasn’t very long. The last thing I realized was that I have to work all through half-term break site, college, and site again, what joy.

I’m glad to see that you’re back!! I agree with the smoking thing, I hate going into restaurants and having to deal with the secondhand smoke. It’s so gross! Thankfully the state government is working on passing new laws to ban smoking in all public places, or so I’ve heard(I live in PA). Anyway, eloping would be much less of a hassle. And it’s not like a huge wedding shows your love any more than something small. I think it’s a good idea, too! ^-^ Whatever you decide, I wish you the best!

Welcome back! Your experience on this wedding issue reminds me the stories my Precalculus teacher told us. He was trying to connect his experience with what we are learning in class (Probability). He told us how he and his wife ended up enloping and the parents were supportive (for the same reason your parents are). Regardless whether you are going to have a big wedding or going to enlope, as long as you two are happy, life is all good

haha hey pennsylvania isn’t so bad!
haha
i didn’t know DC was non-smoking! hm. anyway though, your trip sounds like loads of fun. weddings are always exciting!
i really like your site too!
