August = Diet Month

New layout . I really wanted more colors for a change… but then it fades to white because I FAIL!!! Anywho~~ Oh, and this layout looks WAY better in firefox than IE. Just an FYI.

So, August, Mike & I decided on two things. 1: A budget, 2: diets.
The budget because I added up my non-necessary spending for June and crapped my pants at how wasteful I was every month. With the house coming soon I want to save as much as possible above & beyond what we save now. For the house and nice things like a Roomba and expensive fixtures and the wedding AND the honeymoon . I’d rather buy a lovely 70$ picture frame than get 12 starbuck’s coffees ya know?


Diets. Mike’s been doing fantastically on his low-carb diet and lost at least 12 pounds already. I had been thinking on going on the cabbage soup diet for about 3 weeks now. Mainly to break my chocolate habit that I was struggling with. Honestly, I took in about 500 extra calories a day JUST from eating chocolate. I even got caffeine headaches the day I went without!!!! This diet, I hope, will cut out my constant need for sweets, also, give me my appetite back. For the past month food has just been grossing me out. I hate eating the things I used to love and nothing seems appealing anymore. Plus I feel I need a good detox

It’s 4 am and I woke up feeling siiiiick. As feared my body is just too sensitive to change for this type of diet. I’m over it for reals…. it’s not like a need to lose weight and it’s pointless if it makes me sick. That’ll show me!

It’s POURING outside right now! Maybe it’s not the diet? Maybe bad timing with the flu? I’m sneezing a lot .

    I like the new layout! It’s funny because I just finished putting up a new layout on my lj! XD That diet looks so simple, but I wouldn’t last a day ;; Plus, I can’t cook to save my life — so all the power to you~~ Good luck, haha.

    Somehow, it’s like I saw the post unfold in real time!? When I saw it this morning you were okay… then getting sick… and then sick leave!? o__o;;; I hope you’re okay now! Did I tell you I love your new layout yet? I can’t remember anymore! But I love it! The colours~ it’s refreshing

    Cute layout~!! Ah, hope you’re not coming down w/ a cold or flu.

    After our trip to Disneyland I’m seriously starting to save now. I was before but the trip put me back some..everything adds up, eek. o_0; I know what you mean about the non-necessary things adding up!!

    I know what you mean about little things adding up every month. I always tell myself I’m going to start saving, but soon something(usually a not-needed something) comes up and I waste my money on it. *sigh* I guess all I can do is keep trying, and try harder, haha.

    And ugh, diets are so hard to stick to. I find it easier to exercise more than try to cut back on how much I’m eating(though I usually don’t eat more than 900ish cals a day). I feel better after I’ve exercised than if I haven’t had much to eat one day. Though it’s difficult to find the time to work out…

    Thanks to your lovely layout, it game to some ideas on my new layout. The design was created a week ago yet I’m struggling with the colors. It seems like whatever design I make always end up having the same color theme as the last design I made -.- Anyways, thanks again for the inspiration!

    Diets don’t really work…they just make you crave for food more. Especially chocolate I think what really works is cutting down some calories and exercise more. It worked for me okay. Eat 3 meals and 2-3 snacks a day. Each meal should be 3 hours apart. As for snacks, eat fruits (they really help your stomach feel better!). Yogurt is also a very nice and nutritious snack. Ohh yeah, whenever I want to eat chocolate or ice cream, I sprinkle the chocolate or put a few tablespoons of ice cream into my yogurt. This way I won’t eat too much of it. Humm…maybe I should write an article on this since I have so much to say XD Good luck, Jen! Don’t torture yourself by completely giving up chocolate. Also, make sure you eat enough calories per day (at least 1200) so you are loosing weight safely (2 lbs per week). Quick and dramatic results would only make you gain the weight back.

    Super cute layout!

    I had a lot of success losing weight just by eating oatmeal & coffee for breakfast, vegetable soup for lunch, then whatever the rest of the day, since that was so low-cal. Also: lifting! (with free weights) I think that is how my chest got so much smaller I did an exercise video call “Bar Method” pretty regularly (well, I used to), which probably worked better than dieting.

    This layout is hecka hot! I love the colours and the CSS =] Realllly beautiful. Good luck with your diet ! Though yeah- don’t try to go too extreme otherwise your body’ll rebel. Cabbage soup all the time doesn’t give your body all the energy it needs- if you were consuming 500 calories in chocolate every day, then your body is probably used to that amount of energy coming in. Maybe just try replacing chocolate with fruit which has natural sugar, thus energy, but is broken down faster?

    Are you still trying this? Perhaps it’s very wrong for you. I’ve heard that the Cabbage soup diet makes people feel like s**t but I personally LOVE CABBAGE, not as soup though, don’t like the taste of ‘cabbage water’ UGH.

    With your diet you could try something like just eating breakfast (the most important meal of the day) and eating much much less in the day. You’ll burn off the cals you got at breakfast. Also obviously, exercise, if not to lose weight to make yourself stronger and fitter and get ‘used to it’.

    Those diet pills ads in egg magazine really scare me now. 55kg is classed as fat and the girls appear to have chubby faces, it’s really strange. Then I look at the after shot and the girl looks slightly ill in the eyes and that worrie me. BUT THEN I see that one girl lost 7kg in 5 days and want to buy them! GAAH!

    i’d rather spend my money on clothes/fashion items than on disposal expenses (like starbucks, outing for lunches n cakes) too!!!

    mmmmmm i think i can just do the diet later, or slowly, do not shock your body by not feeding it properly, the low carbs method actually works well but for some maybe not.. and the cabbage soup diet.. er.. it sounds a bit harsh

    anyway i am loving the new layout!
