Good to know

NOTE TO SELF:
Do NOT attempt to enter ANY stores this weekend for you lack total willpower and control… apparently!!!

I was picking-up my Non-no (subscription so it’s already paid for) and I was thinking about how GREAT I was doing with my spending budget but that I should stop spending it all at the beginning of each month so I don’t have to deprive myself of all purchases for 3 weeks at a time. So I walk into the bookstore and there was November’s Soup issue!!! IT WAS ALL DOWNHILL FROM THERE.

I bought Soup, Zipper, Pinky, CUTiE, and Ray. I had to refrain from buying CanCam, MORE, and JJ & of course got my Non-no.

Oh well, I still have over 1/2 my frivolous spending budget for October left… sigh

OH, and check out this site!!! 13ook and also 12oom!

Topiary Love Story!

The cutest little topiaries! I really love the whale one *gimme gimme!*

I know the feeling! 0_o; It’s definitely TOO hard to resist temptation. I tend to spend my “free” cash right when I get paid so I go the WHOLE two weeks before next payday trying to refrain from buying anything, sigh~

I’ve heard cupcakes are all the rave for weddings now. I totally would do ‘em if I didn’t already get married, ~ If you plan on it you must show me the samples. ^________________^

Don’t worry about the email. I’m glad you got the link. Hope you have a carefree weekend.

Oh gosh, I’m kind of glad that I don’t have access to my money right now. Most of it went into my sister’s bank account and I can’t touch it until I’m 18.

Hmm, I wonder if my local Japanese market has any magazine. They probably do and I’m probably still too broke to buy anything right now. Besides, I can’t read Japanese.

However, I love looking at them, especially the ones on interior designs or bedroom design. I love the Japanese bedrooms. They’re so small yet they manage to still stuff the rooms with so much and still look neat.

Ohhh man. I wouldn’t have been able to help myself either. All the covers look so great!! I need to get back on the band wagon and start buying mags again

if there was a shop that sold japanese magazines here, i would definitely not be able to control myself too!! >_

LOL i love spending money like that.. especially if it’s something i can get really excited about.. but then i do always feel a little bit guilty afterwards… the i-know-shouldn’t-have-bought-that feeling

OMG. Seriously went over the top on j-mags! *oh but the covers are so shiny!*
I hope you don’t have a “but these are showing the same clothes* moment.
I was seriously thinking of subscribing to non-no and CanCam (very soon now actually) but have decide to save those hundreds and stick to just egg for fashion now
Can’t wait to clear my bookshelves and replace them with folders of j-mags!

  9. Nicola said,

    September 29, 2007 @ 6:53 pm

I so know that feeling! You’ll walk by all the shelves and you just can’t leave the mags where they are If I have a shopping attack like that, I always feel guilty after a while though…

and the topiaries! They are way too cute!!! The whale looks so adorable!!!

I’m kind of glad I have to order my magazines online and can’t go to Vancouver as often as I wish because I would so not be able to control myself either. Japanese magazines are just too lovely to say no to. *sigh*

    And I’m so jealous of your little mini-vacation. I would love a vacation, I haven’t been on a real one in so long. ;_;

  12. katie said,

    September 29, 2007 @ 9:51 pm

it’s so hard to not buy any japanese magazines!! i have the same problem!!
    i buy
    vivi
    ps
    non-no
    popteen
    pinky

the worst part is that it costs soo much more here in america, but in japan. it’s not expensive. i don’t understand why it’s so expensive in the states.

  13. Sasha said,

    September 29, 2007 @ 10:54 pm

, well, at least now you can spend the time reading awesome magazines instead of shopping

the topiaries are cute! I always wanted to learn how to make one.

Those topiaries made me die. They are so cute! ;_; I want one!

  15. Carmen said,

    September 30, 2007 @ 6:13 am

Hahaha, yeah, I know the feeling. My mom gave me $500 as a present for graduating, and I resisted for a bit but anything I want, I just buy now.

    Aww, those are so cute!

  16. cin said,

    September 30, 2007 @ 6:47 am

Hahaha yup I do that too… Everytime I go into a shop that sells bath stuff/skin care stuff/hair stuff I’ll go spend any spare money in my wallet or else I’ll use my bank card gahhhhh sadly (or maybe it’s a good thing) I don’t have shops selling Japanese magazines here or everything will be worse..
Anyway that whale topiary is so adorable!!!~

  17. Alex said,

Those Topiaries are adorable… I wish I had a place to buy the magazines.

But oh well. I always have the internet to look inside of them.

I used to spend money as soon as I got it. I haven’t bought anything fun in the last year or so, because I spent it on train trips to pick up my boyfriend from the airport. Damn. Now that I read about what you’ve bought I want to buy things, too! Problem is, I’m broke. XD

I got that issue of Non-no the other day too. Were you as disappointed as me when you opened up the “gifts”? XDD

  20. Minna said,

Hey Jen - you wanna come live with me for a little while? No chance you’d ever get a hold of those magazines over here!

Excuse the idiocy, but what are topiaries? :S

  21. Chiaka said,

    September 30, 2007 @ 5:30 pm

haha aw, TELL ME ABOUT IT.
I know exactly how you feel! That’s why I’m really excited but also AFRAID to go to Korea because I know i’ll spend everything I have
Too bad there aren’t any stores where I live where it makes me go on a spending spree.. It’s all the same old stuff that’s sold around here.

  22. Lorik said,

    September 30, 2007 @ 6:17 pm

    wwwwwwwwwoooooooowwwwwww that’s a lot of magazines ^__________________^ it’s soooo hard to resist though….i understand~

    the whale one is cute~

  23. algelic said,

    September 30, 2007 @ 8:18 pm

    Awwww those are so cute!

You’re trying not to ruin your budget by buying magazines… while in my case it’s books. My mom even makes detours at the Mall so we won’t come near the book store… cause she knows I can’t resist the temptation!

I must be careful now of what I spend. With private college and everything… I’m already spending over half my mom’s paycheck.

  24. emma said,

    September 30, 2007 @ 11:02 pm

wow! so many good magazines too read
i wanna read soup! argh it’s so expensive here my eyes are going to bleed
it’s maybe $20 / magazine or more depends, and they rarely get the newest ones in! SO BOOO!!!!

..+ stupid canadian dollar is on the rise, i feel like i should put it to more valued things like saving it? nah ..hahahaha

  25. YoLei said,

    September 30, 2007 @ 11:16 pm

Hey, it’s been a while. I wish I could order all those magazines. I will have to wait until a year or so. I collect American magazines now, and they’re interesting, but not so much pictures. Just lots of writings.
