Happy Hour & Birthday (13)

First off, thank you Gen for inviting myself & Mike out to the DC Blogger’s Happy Hour last night! So glad we came! Of course everyone was super nice and it felt great to get out. And let me just say that, Gen, you are so cool & nice on your blog but you were just so unbelievable sweet and friendly and cool in person!! It was nice just chillin’ out on the patio at the club (OMFG it was so HOT last night!!) I got to the metro on the way home and :screech: my hair looked fuckin’ terrible! Soaked with sweat and I was all greasy! BLEGH… not my best look, but oh well.

And to reiterate….

The most stressful, emotional week (21)

My Mom is doing fantastically. She was finally able to leave the hospital. The doctors found that she was extremely deficient in multiple vitamins including B & D (which can cause ALL the symptoms she was having.) Also, they found some liver damage and some shrinkage in the area of her brain that controls coordination.

They said she should recover 100% mentally, but physically they can’t be sure. She’s using a walker right now to help her get around. However, things are looking extremely positive. My Mom sounds better now than she did BEFORE she went into the hospital. Also she says she’s recovering physically quickly and thinks she’ll be fully recovered within a few months. When I first spoke to her after she was home I cried because she sounded so NORMAL again.

It’s still 1 day at a time, but they only get better. There are still underlining things to deal with, but honestly, that’s for her & my father to deal with.
