W:biglove:C Cute Friends!
Tokyofasghion.com has featured some girls who run around decked out in ダブル シー clothes together and it’s so cute! :kissyheart:

The Spring line has been slowly added to the store site day by day. I check it, obsessively, daily :skull: hahaaahahaa! So far anything I would want is already sold out by the time I check it. Like this tank that I saw on there this morning. I’d want the dark colored ones but only yellow is available. :crap: I did manage to win a Yahoo Auction for this t-shirt though! :excitedyo: It’ll be a few weeks before I get it :facepalmcry::dizzy::girlrage:

This sweater was still available for purchase but sold out while I was typing this up! CRAZY~~

Chinatsu has been wearing these over-sized belts lately in her blog pics~

Wish I could have snagged these overalls, though I love my Buzz Spunky ones too~

Chinatsu takes casual to new levels of no-rules~ your rules~ it’s great :skipping: :fleetheart:

The W♥C shop staff blog is another stalking site of mine, it’s nice to see the staffs’ coordinates and showing off the new items. I really liked this girl’s coordinate! So I thought I’d put something similar together! I have a large striped cardigan but it’s yellow + white and long… didn’t really look good. So I swapped it out for gray polka dot short cardigan!

I’d wear it out this weekend but we’ve got another giant show. They say between today and late Saturday night we could be getting 28″ or more! WTFFFFFFFFFFFF~ :sqsnowman:
It’s very beautiful but Jenny gets cabin-f*ckin-fever yo! :ashock:

Thank god we went out and grabbed a quick bite for dinner last night! Then it was off to grocery shop for a few things we ran out of. Bread. Of all things we needed bread during the panic of a looming snowstorm! Bread sells out anytime there’s a snowstorm scare :orooro: Thankfully no one seems to like whitewheat bread like us so there were a few loaves left! :good: Also needed more lunches for work AND I was out of apples. As I’m typing this my life seems ever increasingly boring, hahahaaa :blushingcute:

“mini” veggie burgers. Yea they’re not that small huh?! I couldn’t even finish both :facepalmcry: And no, I’m not vegetarian, I just love vegetable-things, hahahaa~!

New York Trip~

Even though it’s not until April, Mike & I are 99.9% positive we’re gonna take a trip to New York for my birthday~~!! :ohwhoa:
Just for my birthday weekend, so not long. But longer than the LAST time I went to New York which was about 7 years ago. I got really sick and only got to spend about 8 hours in the city. I spent the rest of my time barfing in Jersey at a family member’s house. So yea, I DIDN’T GET TO DO MUCH! :ng: We’ve talked about how we really should visit again since it’s so close~

We’re gonna take the train (I love trains, shut up!) :biglove: It’s a really short train ride and cheaper than flying & less stressful than driving. :ohyeslovely: I know there’s a Kinokuniya Book Store & UNIQLO there, but any other suggestions? Is there really purikura at Kinokuniya or just a rumor? Also any hotel suggestions? Is staying in a hotel near Penn Station a good idea or horrible? :doubledquestion: Suggestions prease!! :skull:

~~ Speaking of trips we did our taxes this week and we have plenty to take a nice 2 week vacation to Japan this year!! Mike wants to go in September for our second anniversary, so we’ll see :DD, I know I want to make it down to Kyoto this time as well as Tokyo again but since it’s much further off I probably won’t really talk ’bout it much till I have more concrete plans~~ I don’t usually like to announce things premature~ I’m just excited & relived too because we had said we’d go back within 2 years, probably gonna spend every day with my BFF there XDDDD :happylove: :laughingheart: :happylove: :bigheart: yaay for taxes *hahahaaa :ruru: :ruru: :ruru: :faceaha:

Aww that outfit is cute! Too bad you’re not going to be able to wear it!!! Maybe the snowstorm will pass by? And your weekend will turn out nice and sunny? ^.^ Hehe.

Omg going to New York? That’s awesome. I used to live there till I was 15, then moved away ;_; Sadly I can’t recommend anything since I lived there so long ago and was not interested in anything Japanese at that time. I can say that Central Park is very beautifull in spring, so if you do get a chance you should visit there (:

    I also hope your Japan plans come through!!! I’m planning to go there in two years or so…so it’s a really loooooong wait for me ;_;

  2. Veronica says:

The I Hate Spring tee is awesuuummm

I lived in NYC for a long time, I can help you out.

    1. No purikura at Kino – just a nice little cafe upstairs and 3 floors of coolness
    2. Uniqlo is ALWAYS CRAZY on the WEEKENDS
    3. I really really really really recommend you hit up St. Mark’s Place at some point – my fav part of the city
It’s full of NYU punks, fashionable people, GREAT sukiyaki places, and FANTASTIC street shopping!!!

Kinokuniya is midtown on 41st near Bryant park (check out the merri go round) and NY public library.
Uniqlo is downtown in SOHO, St. Mark’s is on 2nd Ave and 8th St, about 15 blocks north of SoHo

email me if you want any cheap / fun recommendations :p

    • jenny says:

I knew you’d have some great recommends XDD! Might email you for sure as the date gets closer! I might skip UNIQLO =Y, I went to one in Tokyo so it’s not like I’ve never been =Y

  3. michelle says:

That outfit Chinatsu has is adooorable.
I love NY! I also love trains, I take the train there when I’m home in PA. That should be a nice birthday weekend for you :3 When I stay in NY I stay at hostels, which are rather inexpensive but nothing fancy at all. Not sure if you want that, but the rooms are usually partitioned, it’s like sharing a big building with a large family haha! But for 70 for a weekend, I will take it!

    • jenny says:

Wow 70$!? I can see how tempting that can be XD!! But we’re looking at actual hotels since it’s a short stay we’re not too worried about price.

  4. Tori says:

There’s purikura at Takashimaya, I think!! I know for sure there is a super-gorgeous tea shop on the lower level of Takashimaya if you wanna check that out :)
I’m def going to NYC for a long weekend this summer & to the Hamptons with my half-sister since she lives literally 5 mins away from there~ I’m so jealous you get to go in like 2 months!
I’m so freaking glad you won the I Hate Spring tee~!! ♥
I need to own a w♥c item at some point in my life, haha~ that salopette is AMAZING. & thanks for the link to the shop staff blog! I only check Chinatsu’s & of course the official shop blog but that’s it. Love to see ‘regular girls’ rocking their fashion!
God I am SO sick of snow… Staying cooped up every weekend is making me go (even more) batshit XD

    • jenny says:

      Oh I’ll look into Takashimaya!

Yea, It’s maybe strange but I prefer looking at the fashion of the staff and fans more than a spread in Popteen~~ Like, Nana is my style idol IN HER OFF TIME! I’m more interested in what the models wear when NOT “on,” ya know?! THANK GOD FOR BLOGS!

  5. emma says:

    nicee
    im so jealous
    i want food so badly
sigh, even those non-meat burgers look good to me right now..

  6. Lana says:

Hi Jenny so I read your are going to New York:) Im so jealous, anyways I really recommend the Kinokuniya bookstore its 2 floors, everytime I go to NY i spend like 3 hrs in there. I got a Cher bag there last time (the pink-peach colored medium one) They got soooo many books and magazines on fashion so you will definitely love it! Also, the UNIQLO store is kind of crazy, i recommend going there before lunch or sometime when its not as busy, last time I went I was in line at the cash register for 30 min because of the lines, but its definitely a must they have amazing basics. Topshop is near buy too if u like the brand♥

Im so excited that you are fan of Chinatsu’s blog I check it a lot too, shes got an amazing and very indvidual style ♥

Anyways I am just rambling here, I hope my comment wasnt pointless *_* Good luck with the storm its everywhere on the news that you guys will be getting lots of snow! I live in LA and its just been raining alot but people panic anyways!

    • jenny says:

Oh Topshop!! I forgot one opened there!! I’m more interested in visiting Topshop b/c I’ve never been to one :D!

You weren’t rambling and it definitely wasn’t pointless!

  7. Louise says:

I recommend the Ace Hotel in NY. I think it’s newly open, so it might be hard to get reservations for. It caters to the young and hip. I’ve only been in the Ace hotel in Palm Springs, but if the NY is like it, I think you’d enjoy it very much. They have GREAT room decor, they provide comfy robes, and it’s just a lot better than being in a regular stuffy hotel.

Not sure if you’re into classic cocktails, but if you are, try to see if you can get into Please Don’t Tell bar. It’s a faux speak-easy in the city. You go into a hole-in-the-wall hotdog restaurant and there’s a phone booth against the wall. You pick up the phone and call the bar, and a secret door opens in the phone booth and inside is a full bar. Pretty cool! Good drinks too.

    • jenny says:

GREAT recommendations! Yea we have a few faux speak-easy bars here! That one sounds badass! LOL *Gonna look into the hotel, sounds lovely~!

  8. Sara Mari says:

Wow! Where do I begin, this post is full of awesome!!

Is that topper from Fool Lovers new, or am I just not as observant as I think I am haha!

Thanks for posting all these photos from W>C, I am really getting to be a big fan of it! Dang, that tank top is cool, too bad it sold out. I think the “I hate winter” is a great message for girls like us stuck in snowy states. My mom mentioned your place was getting alot of snow this weekend at dinner, and I was like “That’s where Jenny lives!” haha.

That is soooo awesome you are going to New York soon! I have never been there so I can’t be of help, but I am super excited to see your photos hehe

And a huge YAY for Japan trip for your birthday!! Heee That’s the best birthday present ever! I wish we could meet up in Japan, that would be soooo awesome! ^^

    You look so cute btw!

    • jenny says:

Haahaa yea! I switched it out for Valentine’s Day :D

I agree! I need an I Don’t Like Winter SOMETHING for sure! It’s currently full-on blizzard right now!

  9. Cecilia says:

You’re coming to NY? How exciting :) I live/from there, and can definitely tell you there’s a lot more to see than Kinokuniya. There’s a famous shopping spot called “SoHo” (a lot of celebs go there to shop), it’s near Chinatown also! Chinatown has a lot of amazingly cheap things, there is place where they sell loads of cute Japanese things (Elizabeth Center), and Times Square (42nd street), if you walk up to 58th street, you’ll see a very LARGE Disney store, and famous Mac store (also Chanel, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Tiffany’s, etc) There’s so many things, I wish I could include everything but I’m just brainstorming :) Oh, and the Metropolitan Museum! Amazingly gorgeous and one of the ultimate places to visit when you’re here.
    http://adammatano.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/metropolitan-museum-of-art-NYC.jpg

OOOH, and 34th street (Koreatown), they have amazing Korean bbq. So yeah, I wrote too much for my own good lol Wish you luck!

  10. Charlene says:

Aw, those veggie burgers look so good! Where was this at??

Never been to NY, would love to go one day…and Japan…wow, I hope you get you again! Taxes weren’t so nice to me this year, but there’s always next year!

  11. Jing says:

Hehe, so is W♥C your new “Cher ♥” obsession? =P It would be awesome if you can visit Japan this year. I really enjoyed looking through your photos from your last trip ^^ Sorry I can’t give you any suggestions on NY since I have never been there. Hopefully you get to visit all the awesome places.

    • jenny says:

You could definitely say that! Thank god too b/c it’s way more affordable!! I think all the Cher bags kinda flooded my love, dunno~ Maybe they’ll have some great summer stuff, hahahaa

  12. Ayu says:

Ha ha! Finally someone who’s not ashamed to admit liking white bread. I love the stuff when I just want a plain ‘ol sandwich. Can’t make a PB&J with wheat XD I try to do without it, but I honestly can’t help myself ♥

  13. Lisa says:

omg I love Wakatsuki Chinatsu just made a fanvideo of her http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4xNsofFqtc
hope to buy something from W♥C one day >w

  14. Reiko says:

Wow~ It’s such a blessing you have Mike, who is planning trips and stuffs. I wish my husband was half like him =X

Anyway, looking forward to read these trips’ blog posts!!! Yayy for more beautiful pictures! XD

  15. cin says:

ooo how exciting!! hopefully you can go to Japan in Sept! :D
    Snowstorm! :O Sounds scary! :(

  16. Bao says:

Hi Jenny! That’s awesome you’ll be hitting NYC for your birthday~ I’m jealous! I never get tired visiting there. From the times I’ve went, I stayed at http://www.thepodhotel.com and http://www.70parkave.com70 Park Avenue Hotel. I think both are in great locations because they’re in midtown, and relatively near Grand Central station. The Pod can only house 2 people at most, but the space is small. I stayed there during December 2008 with my friend and we stayed in the “Double Pod Room (http://www.thepodhotel.com/yourpod_double.html)” I liked it because it came with a private bath (some other rooms don’t have so you’d have to use one of the shared baths but it’s not as bad as it sounds. There are a lot of vacant baths housed all over the floors). I’m just not sure how you feel about compact spaces. I also liked that Oms/b (http://www.riceball-omsb.com/index.html) is near! It’s a rice ball cafe, but not your typical, traditional ones. It gets very busy during lunch time though, but I think worth it. DO check it out if you’re interested! 70 Park Avenue is pricier and is only 4 blocks away from Grand Central. And the room size is normal :) I stayed there July 2009 and had a pleasant experience. I would definitely stay there again.. :)

  17. Jenny says:

Aww I’m jealous. Someday I’ll get to go to Japan xD Have fun if you do go. :D

  18. Linda says:

whaat~ your life doesn’t sound boring at all!
    yayy for trips!!!

  19. rene says:

Love the grey polka dot cardi~ where did u get it from??
It’s always fun to be able to go for short trips! Envious!
I want to go away too next month on my bday, hopefully my parents will be in better shape by then.

  20. Kim_Mari says:

WOOO Hope your power is stayin alive~ my fiance and I saw your US weather tonight on the news and were like AHHAAHA WTF WINTER (but feelin’ for ya … honest!!!)!
It’s so hot and muggy here right now… with TROPICAL thunder storms. Oh well…. at least we can vice versa wen you hit summer! It will be out miserable winter… WE DONT EVEN GET SNOW in Auckland! :D
Enjoy your NY trip – so jealous, I wish our tax refunds were awesome enough to get me to JP :O

  21. kristie says:

Love all the clothess and you burger looks pretty delishh even though i’ve never had a veggie burger before lol. and i hope you have fun in ny :) unfortunately my tax return wasn’t too much this year boo.

  22. Fionna says:

Check out Little Tokyo btwn St. Mark’s and 10th St, it’s got lots of yakitori and some nice hair salons haha it’s the only place that gets my hair right.

  23. Cindy W says:

OMG! You’re coming to the Big Apple! I live in the East Village and yes, there is a huge concentration of Japanese ex-pats and students and businesses catered to it but it by no means a ‘Lil Tokyo’ if you compare against LA or Seattle.

    Must-dos:
Kinokuniya in Midtown (across from NY public library)
Chikalicious Dessert Club in the E/V
Panya for a cute Japanese Bakery (they do Japanese breakfast too + its affordable)
Anna Sui in SoHo (cosmetics are there!)
    Uniqlo in Soho
    Muji in Soho
Giant Robot in East Village for Asian fun goodies (only if you happen to be in the E/V)
There’s also a takoyaki corner shop in the East Village too…lemme know + I can share some Yelp links :)

  24. Becca says:

i love love love love your pink and black striped sweater!! it looks so comfy and cute at the same time ^_^ and new york! sounds so exciting :3 too bad i don’t have any suggestions since I haven’t been.

and those animal print furry jackets are looking good right about now ahha… so furry… *wants to touch*

  25. melle says:

I soooo love the outfits!!!! wait, there’s like a mini statue of liberty in tokyo right? lol my fiancee stayed in japan for 2 years since he works for the US Navy.. lol but now, he’s not in yokosuka anymore.. lol seems like you’re having fun in life.. keep it up

  26. Kelli says:

I hope you have heat! I heard on the news of power outages around DC. Very bad!
I’m sorry I don’t have any suggestions about New York, as I’ve never been, but want to!
I was wondering how you learned Japanese. Do you have any tips or tricks to share?

    • jenny says:

Well, everyone learns differently. I did find learning the kana using flash cards that use pictograms SUPER helpful! Also listening to audio tapes while on my daily train commute really helped me grasp proper pronunciation. And learning words you’d use on a more frequent basis. For example I like to learn nouns and verbs that dealt with fashion or makeup just because I could use it more frequently b/c of my interest in fashion magazines. Though let me say I’m not fluent in any way, shape, or form! ;)

  27. Tina says:

    New York. really? :D
Kinokuniya and uniqlo are two of the places I always go to. I don’t find uniqlo too interesting.. there are only basics there. Kinokuniya, however, is pretty darned awesome. They stock so many magazines!! There used to be an Asahiya around the area, but they recently closed.. :(

Topshop just opened in soho, as well! You should goo~ There’s the Marc by Marc Jacobs store, too… there are so many cheap totes and random accessories! St. Marks/Little Tokyo has a lot of japanese stores. I go to the supermarkets just to stock up on random snacks/makeup supplies: sunrise mart + JAS mart. oh, and oms/b’s onigiri is reaallllyy good!

  28. Betty says:

I love how you put your outfits together. I hope you have fun in NY ^-^ I’ve never been there b4 so I can’t give you any suggestions :P

  29. Zoraida says:

NY!?!?!? I’m so jealous! And then talks of Japan for an anniversary celebration?!?!?! These trips totally make up for your cabin fever, totally!

The I Hate Spring Tee is so quirky ehehe :3

  30. Jeaneth says:

I live in New York!! although i must say it gets quite boring for me…lol
I def. recommend the kino bookstore, lots and lots of magazines! but I personaly prefer the downstairs with all the cute stationary~
I dont know if anyone has recommended Flushing Queens!! It’s the last stop on the 7 train
omg i go there like every weekend :P
There is this spot I love it’s called Ajisen Ramen
they make an awesome sukiyaki beef ramen but I prefer rice http://i46.tinypic.com/e8og9l.jpg
And there are tons of cute stores around with tonsss of cute clothes!
    you would love it!
And if you want a really nice night out with the hubby, you have to go to Ninja restaurant! I dont remember the location, google it xD but i know it’s in the city. The place is awesome!
This is what the waiters look like:
http://i45.tinypic.com/1zvc3r8.jpg and they do cool things with the food, like light it on fire lol
I’m sorry this comment is way too long! I hope I helped out a bit.
I would recommend more if you’d like :D

    • jenny says:

Yea I saw there’s some stuff at the Flushing Mall that might be interesting :P

No worries your comment wasn’t too long!

  31. ashica says:

So much snow! I live in a snow belt area, so not such a big deal when we get that much here but it does make life in general more inconvenient. I have a friend from out of town visiting me now so I’m hoping the remnants of that weather system die out before coming this way.

Those veggie burgers look so yum!!!!

    For NY…
Flushing (in Queens) deff. has a lot of spots for asian cosmetics and food (lots of Korean stuff)!
If you’re branching out to new jersey, mitsuwa market is a huge japanese supermarket w/book store.
Kinokuniya in the city is a must and the Anna Sui store too!! Serendipity III is a fun food spot in the upper east side. I think Uniqulo is worthwhile just to check out the interior (and there is some good [clothes] shopping in that area)

  32. Bianca says:

How BIZARRE that you got sick in New York in the spring too! I got food poisoning from Panda’s school. See he’s went to school for video game design, and it was his finals, everyone was sooo sick, and the culinary arts students were creating there finals for everyone to eat.

I GOT SOOO SICK I was throwing up on the plane, at the hotel, EVERYWHERE, the trip was 4 days and I was sick for 3.5 of it, like bed ridden. This was last spring for me, I plan on going back ASAP!

But yes, Uniqlo is the place to be, it’s not very shibuhara, but you’ll find great basics, try Muji, I’ve never been but it looks like a Japanese Ikea, I learned about it in design class, and they sell cute clothes there too. Soho is awesome, broadwy in soho is the best (no taxes on clothing!) Theres an F21, H&M, all types of lux stores. Check out Anna Sui’s in Soho store too, its the only one in the US. Plus, Broaday in Soho will take you all the way to Chinatown, which carries very inexpensive yesstyle-style clothing. Oh and on broadway in Soho has a TopShop!

I heard there used to be an X-Girl, but that might be gone.

Good luck too you! And CONGRATS on the Japan trip! :D

  33. Tutti Patuti says:

ur life is boring? ha?! i dont think so .. my life is HELLA BORING
haha but we have to make the best out of it .. right

  34. Tutti Patuti says:

by the way nice post .. i love the dresses in japan. i miss it there.. i wish i have a lot of money to go back during the spring break -_-

    • jenny says:

I know why is it soooooooo expensive D: D :! Wish the country was closer, LOL! All the cost is spent on the damn plane tickets :(

  35. Ys says:

New York sounds like a great place to visit :) It’s my birthday in April too! Hopefully Ray and I will get a weekend together soon… it’s in the “I’d really like it if we could…” stage at the moment ;)

  36. Ham-Cham says:

    NYC TT v TT////
    I LOVE NYC… seriously…
Oh, if you’re an ice cream person?
    Check out Serendipity.
    Seriously.
(I don’t know if you saw the movie…?)
    It’s a restaurant that specializes in ice cream. * O * //
My mother and I went there when we were in NYC this January and shared a sundae for dinner ^ o ^
Plus, they have an adorable gift shop and the decor is too funky~! (so random and eclectic… hahaa~)
    And if you can afford it, there’s a $1000 sundae… XDDD but they need 2 days advance notice. – v – ”
    Even the normal one was HUGE (and AMAZING~), so I can’t imagine that… – v – ”

Also, in case you plan to go to Broadway?
Mama Mia and Memphis are *amazing*. Especially Memphis //////
    It’s *TOO GOOD*!~
    If that’s your thing. P;
    Other than that…. Kinokuniya is mind-boggling (hahaha~), there are a bajillion great restaurants, Chinatown has some cute stores if you walk around a bit (but I only made it to one TT o TT ), taxis and the subway are your best friends (but cab drivers can be kinda shifty… lol~), and the dinosaurs at the Natural History Museum are pretty darn cool. XD Again, if that’s your thing. – u – ;;
Whatever you do, I know you’ll have an amazing time…~! Have fun ^ ^
    (And YAY for April babies ;D ) Aaaand sorry for the monster-comment – o – ;

  37. Rachelle says:

Ah late comment but totally NYC related – seeing as how I live here :P If you really want purikura, theere are two places here you can go : Chinatown and Flushing. If you go to Chinatown, on Elizabeth St. there is a place called ELIZABETH CENTER (it’s an underground mall and you can totally miss it because it doesn’t look on the outside what it looks like on the inside, if you see a grey building with pharmacy stuff in the window and downstairs escalators inside, then you’ve found the place). On the first floor in the back there is a place with 2 purikura booths, a bit steep in price. A small sheey (like 5×8ish) is $20 and a large sheet (i’ll say about 6×9ish) is $30.

In Flushing (you can take the 7 from Times Sq. all the way to Main St. Flushing in Queens), on Northern Blvd and Union St. across the street from Flushing HS, there is a place called TOTOs. They have 3 booths, 2 SenseQ booths (a tad bit lame but nice nonetheless) are $6 for a sheet, and there is a Ulala booth in the back for $10 a sheet (definitely the better booth). I prefer toto’s not only for the Ulala booth, but with the SenseQ one, if you give the owner your email address he’ll email you your pictures as well.

Unfortunately those seem to be the only purikura places I know of. Rumor has it there is one in the Flushing mall, but I have yet to see it @_@
