Pre-Winter Madewell Buys

Splurged a little at Madewell last night for FNO. Actually got something off my wishlist too. But that’s why it’s a “wishlist” right? I’ve been pretty good at saving $ lately but splurged last night on a shirt dress.
This Sheepmeadow Sweater is such a relaxed fit and soft sweater. It’s perfect for layering. Also can’t get over the sheep who seem to be wearing wildly colorful wool socks…
The Artdot Novelist Shirtdress. This wasn’t something that caught my eye right away. Mainly because I have troubles with Madewell’s dresses/bottoms and my short stature (5′1″.) Usually the waistline on the smallest size still hits too low and the dresses often look sack-like on me. However when I saw that the waist was not only cinched, but came with a belt-tie, I decided to try it on! It’s a nice relaxed fit with a good length for wearing to the office. I layered a sweater over it in the change room as well and it worked great! So I’ll be in this all winter, hahaha. With extra thick tights of course. I’ve actually been perusing black dot skirts and shorts lately.
I also really wanted another long-sleeved shirt dress for winter. :deco13: I wore my brown floral one from last winter almost daily. :deco5:

The “bag tax” has made seeing shopper totes, instead of store bags, very commonplace! I’ll have to remember to bring this one when visiting Madewell :)
I’ll probably use it as my purse a lot though :deco2:

I definitely splurged at Madewell last night, too! I was really tempted on getting a sweater, but living in the West Coast makes it really unreasonable to wear sweaters (esp. in California). I really love the dress that you got! I eyed it a few times walking in the store, but because I am so disproportional everywhere it didn’t work out. I’m so glad that it worked out for you and that you are able to layer it! :)

Oh! I didn’t realise that you were only 5′1! For some reason I always thought you were around my height (169cm) or taller because of your slim frame I guess!Totes are cute though I must admit I don’t use them very often besides bringing extra stuff for uni when I need to..I mainly use my H.Naoto free tote from like 6 years ago when I do, haha. Otherwise, I often just shove things into my handbag when I have enough space >

I really love your long sleeved dresses, both this one and the brown one from last year. Now I’m on the hunt for one, I never thought I could wear dresses in the winter! Thank you so much for this great idea =)
P.S A J.Crew store just recently opened up in my city and they had so many cute shoes but nothing fit =( Do the states J.Crew carry size 5’s by any chance?

be warned dont wash it i heard the tote will shrink up the size of a sock! at least thats what my friend and madewell rep told me :P

went to the madewell in soho for FNO and it was such madness you could barely move, thus preventing me from buying anything :( Love your purchases though. I have been obsessed with that sheep sweater!! And that dress will look so lovely on you.
