The Weekend So Far

Saturday April 20, 2013

Friday I got tired of seeing those Mini Tortilla-Crust Pizzas on my Tumblr dash so I made them. I also made some Baked Mozzarella Sticks and Baked Zucchini Fries.

The mozzarella sticks didn’t turn out as pretty (my fault) but everything still tasted great! Even the melted mozzarella sticks. Feeling pretty smug about it… :)

Today I had a quick breakfast at La Madeleine’s and afterwards picked up the Hourglass Ambient Powder Brush. I bought that ambient powder a few weeks ago and still love it but my usual kabuki brush picks up way too much of the powder and I saw reviews saying this brush was really worth it if you use the powder. I have been using my Sephora 15% off for my recent purchases and it expires after this weekend so I wanted to get it while I could get the discount because it’s sorta frivolous feeling.

Received two free samples with my purchase. Neither of which I’ve ever tried before. The Clinique Repairwear Laser Focus eye cream and Josie Maran Argan Oil. Both of which I’ve heard great things. The argan oil I’m most cautious about though because my face and oil rarely play well together. Even if I just use it in my hair at the tips it could brush my face and maybe break me out. So I’m going to wait until after this upcoming wedding I have to go to is over before trying it out.

Lastly I received those organic cotton reusable facial pads I was tweeting about this weekend too.

Ordered these from an Etsy shop and started using them this morning. I think it would be nice to have something reusable as long as they work as well as disposable cotton. I just went through a lot of cotton every single day and yeah I feel guilty about that. These I can just wash with my normal laundry (in the small laundry bag they came with.) So here’s hoping they work as well! *fingers crossed*

hello hello! I haven’t commented in a while but your food looks delicious! :D please write a review on the reuse-able cotton pads once you get a chance, thank you! :)

Oh my goodness, yum! Now you are making me want to make mini pizzas, haha! How are the cotton pads so far? I was thinking the same thing when I looked at my face wipes. I go through those things a lot (especially for someone who doesn’t wear make up on a daily basis).

They seem to work great. The absorb the products well like makeup remover and toner and for removing eye makeup they are so much more gentle.

I have couple Josie’s products that I love.
The argan luscious lips really is great for winter.
Also their argan infinity cream does wonders.
I use them on places where it is so dry before applying
any foundation or concealer. They are so moisturizing.
First time hearing reusable facial cotton pads..
How does it feel? Is it like towel?

Those reusable face pads look interesting! I have the eyecream sample too and it’s a nice gel like texture, very smooth. I don’t know if it helps but it’s really hard to tell! x

  6. Amelia says:

I am definitely interested in the reusable face pads mostly because I too feel guilty about the amount of cotton I use.

Those mini pizzas look really delicious.

your food always looks always so delicious and perfectly arranged but effortless XD (even your food looks effortless?)

anyways I wanted to ask which etsy shop your got your facial pads from (can’t seem to find it OTL)

They look sooooo yummy! You make me want to bake some myself!

Oh those resuseable cottons sounds very useful. I also happen to use a lot of cotton to remove makeup and I feel a bit guilty too. It’s also costly as I have to buy them every 2-3 months or so when I run out of them. I think these resuseable ones might save me a lot more money!

I think I have to make those tortilla pizzas too!
I haven’t thought about reuseable cotton pads before. I hope they work just as well.

Ooooh, never heard of the reusable cotton pads before, but do tell if they work! Recently I’ve been using toner again, and it would be great to be more eco-friendly!! =D

The Argan Oil is okay. When I tried it, it seemed great, but with my bangs, it got into them during the day and started looking not so pretty. So I’m back to water based moisturizers.

Those reusable cottons seem like a genius idea!!!
