Cooler Weather Camping

Sunday September 15, 2013

Camping season ends with September so I headed out for one final camping weekend. Already the weather was cooler with lower 50°F’s. Bought extra wood to keep the fire warm. It was still enjoyable with the extra blankets packed. I actually slept through the night for once. It was the best sleep I had gotten in a while actually.

Decided to try baking crescent rolls over the fire after seeing it suggested online.
BRILLIANT. Seriously going to do this from now on! Great for breakfast especially with a little bit of honey. I meant to wrap a hot dog up in one for a pig in a blanket but I got too greedy and just ate them all with honey.

gosh, camping season doesn’t even START here until september because the weather is just unbearable! I’m dying to go camping, I can’t wait for it to drop below 90. (: your pictures make me so jealous!

as much as i love summer, i DO sleep better in cooler seasons. something about being bundled up in my one million blankets and never over-heating, idk. wonderful.

I LOVE THAT CRESCENT ROLL IDEA OMG. i was trying so hard to figure out wtf you did to get the dough out there/on the roasting fork like that…derp just keep reading, silly me.

i love how your photos came out, how do you get this effect because i was thinking about getting the Olympus pen but when i saw the sample photos it didn’t achieve the clarity and vintage effect that your photos have. thank you :D

Step 1: GIVE IN TO DA DIRT. Once I made peace with being dirty again (I hadn’t camped since I was a kid either until a few years ago) it was pretty easy.

I use Off bug spray and citronella candles. There’s all natural versions too and I make a cinnamon oil spray now for outside the tent.

I feel like a big appeal for me with camping as an adult is getting the chance to unplug. I admit I update some snaps while by the campfire but mostly I don’t check messages or replies while out there. Plus no TV, no PC, no phone calls. It’s a huge appeal. I make special playlists and bring my little portal Jambox. Gaah this is making me wanna be out there right now LOL
