Autumn Update

Friday October 11, 2013

Thanks for putting up with my blog sale! I appreciate anyone who stopped by and all the orders have been shipped out! When I started the sale last week it was 90°F and sunny. Today with ending it it’s 55°F and extremely rainy.

I thought I’d update with some recent photos that I’ve been posting here & there. First from today. Cold and rainy. Also some of the things I’ve been wearing lately. The pleated skirt is my favorite. It has 3 different button options so I can wear it even on bloated days.

I did a makeup swap with Anupa recently too! The brown lashes are so pretty. If it stops raining I want to wear them to Oktoberfest this weekend.

I also fished out my balls of yarn and knitting books. I’ve started a basic roll-up hate and some 100% cotton dishtowels.

Last weekend my car broke down and I couldn’t get it fixed until later so I ran my errands using the stores near my house. Usually I drive a bit further out but as a stroke of luck I found these two rose-scented fabric softeners at the other stores! One is a more intense 1-rinse only type that is basically a rose perfume for your clothes from Downy. The other is Suavitel which I usually get in Sunset Rose but this one is Festival of Flowers which is a lighter rose fragrance than the other.

    Oh is that pleated one from Macys? It feels so good to clean out. I literally have like 10 shirts now that I moved to NYC..AND I LOVE IT!

    Ahhh~ I’m jealous of your weather even if its being temperamental. I was wondering, in the first picture (if you took it one your phone) what apps did you use? I really like the effect(?) of it.

    I want to learn how to knit so badly but my cat is obsessed (understandably) with string. Embroidery is hard enough with him around; I can’t imagine how bonkers he’d go with a ball of yarn!

    I miss having nicely scented, freshly-laundered clothes but I found out that fabric softeners actually ruin clothes in the long run. My detergents have a little bit of scented essential oils but that scent doesn’t really make it through the drying process (hanging or dryers). ;_;

      I was wondering if you ever had the chance to use something like Woolite or Dreft? They’re incredibly gentle on clothes. I love Woolite, they even have a “darks” version for dark clothes and the scent is light but lasting.

    That skirt is very pretty. All your combos are very inspiring.

    I’ve been looking for rose scented fabric softeners. Do you find the scent of Sunset Rose to be too overwhelming for clothes?

    • jenny says:

      I do actually. I mainly use it for my sheets & towels. Sometimes I’ll use it with heavy wool sweaters or denim but I always use half the recommended measurement in that case.

    Ahhh…I’m so jealous of the US. Canada never get cool stuff like rose scent Downy! I die from all the crazy options you guys have whenever I visit Seattle. :P

    Knitting was an obligation to learn in my school. It was really nice and calming after math and physics classes. Sadly, I don’t know how to knit anymore haha. But I was thinking of starting it again as a hobby in dark winter evenings :)

      It’s surprising how quickly it comes back to you. I stopped knitting for quite a number of years but a quick refresh & I was back in action.

    I love your cute rain boots! Chilly rainy season is my favorite, but maybe I’d feel differently if it rained more than 3x a year where I live xD
