Let’s get off on a tangent!

Saturday, July 19th, 2008 | 20 Comments

I was going to blog about how wonderful laying out was today and that I only get to do it max twice a week and even less than that with the crazy rainy season we’ve had lately. And how being able to get out & get some sun helped me feel connected to the happy memories I have of growing up on the MS Gulf Coast. Sure it’s on my terrace and not at the beautiful barrier islands where I spent every weekend of my summers as a kid. So beautiful, the islands are completely cut off from modernizations. One has to own a boat to reach them and then make the half hour boat ride out to spend the entire day there. No power lines or snack stands. i really didn’t know what a “commercial beach” actually looked like till I went off to college. [some photos I found online b/c I haven’t any]

But then it made me think of hurricane Katrina and how the islands are transformed now with broken dead trees which made me think of my family and my hometown [post Katrina] and how you can never “go home again” and how much I hated growing up there in the first place and why can’t my family just move some place better like HERE so I could at least be closer than 1,000 miles from them and how selfish they can be and no one cares about my new home or upcoming wedding and BLAH. Note to self. LIVE IN THE PRESENT MOMENT… always.

WOO! \(´ー*`)/
I feel better now having gotten that out!

Oh yea~! New layout… sort of. Mainly just a new banner with my tweets stuck up in it! I was getting really sick of the old banner. This one has Rinka & EMI

I just randomly remembered I was gonna trim my bangs this weekend. I think I’ll go do that right now!

Wow, that is so beautiful! I’d love to vacation at a place like that. Away from civilization can be a really good thing sometimes….. Too bad natural disasters are so powerful :(

Love the new layout! Jen is always GREAT at making nice designs^^

Wow, I have never been to a secluded island before. That would be a dream vacation.

Your house and your wedding is all for you to enjoy and if they want to miss out on all the joy and fun, it’s their loss. You have an awesome kickass house and your wedding will be phenomenal.

Though I live on an island, I hate the beach. ahaha it’s weird I know. But sand is very hard to get off and out of places and BAH hassle. Your wedding is for you btw, and I know you want to share it with them, the day will come when they will regret the choices they are making now. You’re right. Live in the moment and be excited- YOU’RE GETTING MARRIED. Be a bridezilla ahaha

I agree with what Ann just commented: your wedding is for you and they will regret it when it’s gone. I know that probably doesn’t make you feel any better about the rejection but try to enjoy the wedding stuff anyway. You’ll only do it once

gah i feel like i haven’t comment here in ages (which is probably true eep) i like the colours on this layout~ but then i don’t really remember the colours on the last one ~_~? the beach island looks really nice! the sand looks fine and white~ our sand are mostly coarse or muddy :/ and the water gets really rough in some areas… i learned the hard way when i tried to build a sand castle with my back facing the ocean… =_=;;; i’ll never do that again DDD:
