Japan is Food Love

// 36 Comments

It’s about midnight so that means I’m…
1: UP LATE to my standards
2: HUNGRYYYYY FOR MIDNIGHT MUNCHIES!
So I wanted to blog to cure boredom and torture myself since I’m gonna post way too many photos of food from our honeymoon!

MISTER DONUT

Mister Donut

THEIR DONUTS ARE SO CUTE!!

Their mascot is the cutest!

My friend warned that Krispy Kreme tastes better so she was trying to talk me out of getting Mister Donut perhaps, hahaha, she’s right. Mister Donut had WAY more variety of cuteness but their donuts taste… I dunno… oil based doughy or something. But I was warned so my expectations were low to begin with. No disappointment here! That was a big part of the fun for us on the trip, the comparing of US brands to Japanese with my friend. The grass is always greener situation for both of us. It was really fun to see what she loved and was into for the States and I know she got a big kick out of seeing the stuff I was targeting (such as a big ass bag of bath salts she spotted in my hotel room & giggled at, hahaha)

Restaurant friends took us to for lunch!

Monjayaki!! SO DELICIOUS

Mike helping stir

Okonomiyaki

Aftermath of a delicious time at an Izakaya in Shinjuku

This place was so gorgeous and modern and I’ll try to find the name for it. It was dark so hard to take photos while walking through. There was a waterfall at the entrance and the walkway through the bar to all the private rooms was made of glass and it had a lighted stone stream flowing underneath it! Oh yea, and the food was great of course, drinks too

Sukiyaki at a place I think was called Nabezo. A chain that does sukiyaki and shabu shabu

チョコパフェ my friend & I shared. CRAZY rich & sweet

Keiseki

I don’t know why I don’t take photos until dessert, haha, I suck when I’m excited :cloudedmind:
These are from the ryokan we stayed at.

Beef, fish, etc. all gone nom nom nom

Pears were in season so all 3 desserts were pear inspired!

keiseki breakfast. Everything’s hidden in the dishes
Getting all your meals in your room is really wonderful~ did I mention that? Hahaha

Quick lunch at Kawaguchiko station

Quick lunch @ ペッパーランチ

This one was on the basement level

poster of what I ordered! Haha

C&C Curry!

TAKOOOOOO :driftingoff:

I miss plastic food

Looks soo delicious!! Haha. I went to Mister Donuts too! I thought they were okay. But yeah, Krispy Kreme is deffinately more awsome. But I am a sucker for green tea flavoured food. Ice cream, chocolate, donuts, etc. Haha. So I loved how I could have a green tea donut.

But there are still Mister Donuts in a couple of places in the States, cause it is an American company originally, then dunkin donuts kinda took it over.

But awsome pics… I’m hungry now.

Aaaah these photos make me so hungry ;__;
And about Mister Donut. I think in an effort to make the donuts more cute, they have sacrificed on the recipe. I have never had Krispy Kremes but I hear they are the best. EVER.

Yeeaaaa!

My friend sent me a Mister Donut datebook for New Years.

I love how compartmentalized Japan is - even the food. Many things in many little boxes!

It just helps my container-OCD

Aww I miss Krispy Kreme since they moved out of northern California like years ago due to poor sales.

Mister Donut’s mascot is way too cute! They sell kind of similar things around the world, but I don’t know why I feel that when they’re in Japan they’re cuter hahaha.

PS. I wanna eat okonomiyaki and takoyaki so much, some other things too but I just couldn’t choose (as though I could eat them straight from the computer screen) xD

Oh! Mister Donut! My aunt’s mom (we’re not blood related) took me to Mister Donut on my last day at Taiwan. I loved it! I thought they were a lot better than Dunkin Donuts/Krispy Kreme though ~

I’m so hungry for Japanese food right now… (currently drooling)

How do they keep the weight off these days? Find me around Tokyo on a day off and I’ll be stopping off at every other shop to buy food!
If not just to eat but look at!

(thanks so much for the ageha and vanilla scans

Those donuts look so cute, especially the flower shaped ones. The only ones that you can usually get here are the round ones filled with jam, or the occasional ring donut.

Even if they weren’t tasty, cuteness is still an important part of any baked goods eating experience! So much food looking so good!!

lol all the plastic food makes me think of the Sesame Street movie where Big Bird goes to Japan and argues with the waiter, demanding to be served the plastic fish on display. Too many times seeing that while babysitting.

We have Pepper Lunch here in Singapore too. It’s not that great but I love the atmosphere.
