♪ルームウェア~!!

A lot of people ask where I get my magazines
I buy them from a local Japanese Book Store called Taiga. If you live in the Washington DC area shoot me an email at Jenny (at) sushi-cat.net and I can give you more info about the place :good:

Maybe it’s the global economic downturn forcing people to reconsider the idea of staying in instead of going out thus spending money~ but “Room Wear” has been a booming trend this year! It shows no sign of stopping popping up in issue after issue of various magazines. From CUTiE to Vivi one can never be too cute when vegging out and relaxing~ The most popular products being very もこもこ [fluffy!] Here are some examples:

M O R E ~

Definitely a trend worth investing in!

RANDOM NOTE
I kept seeing Lars and the Real Girl advertised all over CUTiE & Zipper. And BIG ads too, like the back cover and 2 pagers It was really surprising! If you haven’t seen Lars and the Real Girl I recommend you watch it. It’s good, it IS indie so don’t say I didn’t warn you but it’s a typical “Jenny” movie, hahahah~ I’M SO PICKY WITH MOVIES I CAN’T HELP IT!

But after I thought about it, it really does have an indie Japanese movie-esque feel about it. Wonder what took so long for it to be released in Japan~?

I wish there was a Japanese bookstore here in Boston! I just get mine at a supermarket…

Ooh I wanted to watch that movie! Maybe I’ll rent it sometime :]

There’s barely a japanese embassy here much less a bookstore. Is your bookstore cheaper than those online mag sellers?
Ah! I remember that movie, I loved it and cheered Lars on the whole time. You’re right, it’s totally an indie movie, which is probably why so very few people have seen it.

Wow! I am so jealous of your smattering of your recent J-mags in the picture. T^T I’m so in need of a new fashion magazine and my first thought when I found $12 in my camera case was to buy some. xD Unfortunately the Japanese bookstore where I am is rather expensive and the cheaper magazines start at around $11 and can go all the way to $20 or so. Hm, that and I haven’t really found a particular magazine I’m a fan of…
Aww, all the lounge wear is really adorable. ^^

Nice! The roomwear definitely looks comfy. I usually get my magazines at Kinokuniya bookstores or Mitsuwa here in SoCal. Can’t get enough of ‘em!

Aww everything looks so cute and comfy. Totally snuggable.

I’m so sad that my Japanese supermarket does not sell any Japanese magazines.

Hahaha, if I could, I’d wear PJs all the time…too bad most people would think I’m crazy

I’m with Rae. I live in SoCal too, so most of the japanese mags can be found at the places that she mentioned…though I’ve never actually gone to Kinokuniya. I do have a Mitsuwa near me

I have to admit I have a collection of staying-in clothes at the moment. Maybe it is cos of the economic problems … or maybe just cos they’re so cute

Lol, Lars And The Real Girl only have that indie Japanese-esque feel to it because it’s practically like Japan and robots! You know how much they love their robots..

That trend is so fluffy! I saw tons of fluffy things at Charlotte Russe last week (we finally have one!
