Smart Phone Time

edamame :excitedyo:

My seedlings are still growing despite the weeks worth of rain. Notice how muddy the pots all are :kanjicry: They haven’t had sunlight in a week! Poor things.
:berry:

Thursday Mike and I decided to get rid of our LAN line and buy 2 smart phones instead.
Currently we both have extremely cheap T-Mobile prepaid phones. It wasn’t an easy decision for me but Mike’s been wanting to do it for YEARS.

I need a smart phone because I need to be able to check my work email. I was really hampered by not having that access during the full days of training I’ve done these past 2 weeks. Anyway. Most likely we want to join a family plan with his brother on Sprint because it’ll be a great deal for unlimited data & text. I like the Touch Diamond or the Palm Centro that Sprint has. I really just need to be able to check my work email, browse the web, and upload phone photos through a web application (this is surprising simple yet hard to do on some of the blackberries!) But now Mike’s saying you can get a refurb iPhone from at&t for $100. The only reason we aren’t jumping to getting me an iPhone is b/c at&t’s lameness only offers new iPhone family plans with 2 iPhones! Mike has no interest or need in having an iPhone and they won’t let you pick a different second phone. EXCEPT he said when you buy a refurbished iPhone you can add ANY other phone to the family plan. UGGGGH it’s all so confusing, too many choices! :dizzy: Plus going with anyone else but Sprint automatically means higher monthly payments b/c 3 people on a plan is so much cheaper. :cloudedmind: I only want an iPhone because I’m so used to my stupid iTouch already~ :girlrage:

Nevermind! Bought a Blackberry today!

Decided on the Blackberry Curve! I wanted the G1 but it just wouldn’t do what I needed but this particular Blackberry met ALL my requirements! It was also cheaper :happylove: AND Mike got the Blackberry Pearl because he wanted a flip phone (like his old phone.) Getting a Blackberry is like DC requirement anyway, right!? Hahahah workaholic phone device!

Hahaha I know it sounds stupid but I like how the photos remind me of the Ageha model blogs with blazing flash setting! hahahh though I’m not as pretty to glare at for sure :wakuwakuheart:

Anyway. Needless to say, I came home today just draineddddd. So I took a nice hot bath and used this アデジョピンクダイヤモンド bath salt

Hahahah the back of the packet!

Well I can tell you this particular bath salt looks really cute packaging wise but it was quite anti-climatic in reality. The hue was really faint, the scent disappeared the second the powder hit the water, and those crystals don’t float, they sink immediately and dissolve! HAHAHAAHAA! A bit disappointing to say the least. :F I have the purple version to still try but my expectations are much lower now!

I would say go with the family plan b/c then everything is much less complecated and if for some reason apple comes out with an even better iphone or nintendo comes out with a kick but ds that is a camera, games system, AND a phone you could get that phone with out feeling bad about the iphone…. but thats just me dreaming about a cool ds and being simple :] hahaha my mom really liked the edames but when she went to komart she ended up with snow peas b/c she didnt know the diffrence :D

  2. toritori says:

    I have sprint! O:
They have good signal, but their phone choices aren’t always.. well, as spectacular as all the others, I think. ._.
The Touch Diamond/ Touch Pro are really cool, though :)
And a bath sounds veryyy relaxing right now! *_*

  3. Megan says:

Seeing your edamame plants make me want to grow my own~~ I miss eating them all the time when I visited St. Louis regularly!

Out of the 2 sprint phones, I like the Centro better, since it has an actual keyboard. A touch keypad would be a huge PITA I think! :( My current phone is primarily touch and I’m always pressing the wrong things LOL grrr!

    • jenny says:

Yea I like the keyboards b/c typing emails on my touch can get totally irritating! The Diamond actually has a slide out keyboard though with bigger keys! Nifty, ne!? I should really try to keep that desire in mind when playing with these.

      • Megan says:

Oh that’s pretty cool then! I saw that you picked the Blackberry! Let me know how you end up liking it, it was one I was considering when I last updated my phone ^_^

  4. your edamame must love the rain ;3♥
cos they have grown so much~!!

haha xDD the packaging of those bath salts are funny ~:P
what is that glowing light by your feet~?

  5. Kim says:

Smart phones can be really useful, and iPhones are really great too. I would definitely shop around different service providers and consider their systems. Also, check out each phone’s wireless capabilities (I know Verizon is bad at that).

    Good luck finding a phone!!!

  6. Hachi says:

I guess it’s due to living halfway across the world from you that I don’t understand what you’re talking about in that big paragraph there :) Smart phones? LAN? *whoosh right over my head* 2 iPhones in one household doesn’t sound healthy though!

Is that Tsubaki golden repair shampoo? Would you say it’s better than the red version?

    • jenny says:

Yes it is and NO IT ISN’T. I’m actually really disappointed b/c it’s for damaged hair but the red version works much better for me D: My hair was much softer and smelled better using the original.

  7. Veronica says:

    * * * * * *
O my goodness – it growed so huge :D

They started selling Beer + Edamame packages here, where you can literally grow them in a Kirin terrarium, haha

The picture on the bath salts is so cute – it makes you sexy, :D

  8. Veronica says:

Ah! I gave those same light up duckies to my friend Lin when she moved away! :D

  9. cin says:

iphones are good apparently but thats all i know XD
i use a LG viewty but its not that great and the connection here sucks anyway :p

  10. Daisy says:

the edamame leaves are quite cute! :3

i always heard about upgrading from itouch to iphone, never really looked into it and don’t really know how that works.. everybody seems to be getting smart phones now, but i kinda still prefer the pretty japanese phones, haha ;_; oh and i do remember my boss saying getting a blackberry is like taking work home ~o~

i love your little shampoo holding chair thing! its so cuute *O*

  11. Rachelle says:

Oh man I want to start growing some small plants, maybe some flowers~ Whenever I go to Chinatown there is this one particular store that sells a lot of the bath salts that I see you use, they also have some mascara which looks like it’s by the same brand. It’s $15 though, I wonder if it’s worth it O_O

    • Rachelle says:

BTW in terms of at&t. The only thing I’ve really enjoyed about it is rollover minutes. The family plan is okay in that you can add additional lines for 9.99. In truth, if it were up to me, I’d switch to t-mobile, one because it seems like the majority of people I know have it (therefore using mobile-to-mobile, no worry about minutes) and also they seem to have nicer phones.

  12. Miamy says:

seeing the lovely picture you posted, You make me feel like growing some plants/flowers!
But i know I wouldn’t have the time to take care of them :(

  13. Rae says:

Have you tried looking into the T-mobile, G1? It’s the phone from Google and all the applications are free!

    • jenny says:

Yea but I haven’t been able to find a store with a working model! Not even locked away or anything. So frustrating. I assume it’s pretty nice but Mike didn’t like any of their other phones for himself. (Sucks being a couple sometimes! hahaha)

  14. Aleida says:

Awww picking out phones with the right subscription can be HELL *le sigh* I hope you can find one that matches you! I’ve been with T-Mobile ever since I decided to go from prepaid to a subscription. But I live in The Netherlands so I’m not sure what the service is like in other countries.

I’m the proud owner of an iPhone 3G since August last year. If you’re already familiar with the iPod touch getting an iPhone is definitely just a small step.

  15. Tori says:

Your edamame looks so good!! Muddy pot & all, haha ♥

Good luck with the phone search too~ I have Sprint right now & wanted to change (because I think Sprint has ugly phones, haha XD) but it is definitely the cheapest service, especially when you get into smart phones.

Your bath stuff looks so luxurious ♥ lol~

  16. yumyumsushi says:

you make me want to take a bubble bath haha, i haven’t taken a real bath in years. lol, that sounds so wrong.

    good luck with your phone hunt. i’ve been spoiled with an iphone & know i probably can’t go back to another phone now -_-;

  17. Michelle says:

So I’ve never had edemame until the other day at the salad bar from the grocery market, I liked it! I’m currently growing a couple treats and herbs XD I use green onion in a lot of cooking, so it will be nice to pick them when I need to :) Your little spoutling is looking good, we had a lot of rain too!

I would love to get a new phone. Had this chocolate for about three years now and I don’t much like it anymore – I can’t hold it on my shoulder and ear while I need to use my hands, which happens most often when I’m cooking haha. My friend has an iPone and he “jail broke” it /hacked it. It has great applications, especially the GPS, but it’s quite large and the screen gets disgusting…

  18. Zoraida says:

I wish my plants could grow as big and lovely as yours!

My friend owns a G1, actually and he let me play with it for a bit! The keyboard is really nice and the web browser is fast! It also has a scanner on the back so you can scan things you want to buy at a store and find how much it costs on the Internet!

But I read your twitter and it seems like you’re getting a Blackberry instead! lols

  19. Lexxii says:

Ugh, I think the iphone is soo overrated… Like the only thing cool about it is also the suckiest thing about it too. People seem to love the touch screen but that is kinda what sucks about it. It makes it hard to use I think… But like the itouch is basically the same only with no camera and no phone calls. So It seems like it would be a waste. You should get something cooler.

  20. Jing says:

congrats on your new phone :)

  21. Yi Lin says:

oo i like your phone holder! :)

  22. cin says:

    uuuuu nice phone!! :D

  23. Sumie says:

    your job seems really interesting^^
what do you study in america in order to become a web-developer?computer science?
i think in europe it’s called media computer science or sth haha

  24. Mahnah says:

    Cute phone holder

    • Mahnah says:

Sorry! The rest cut off. I was going to say that though I’m not into phones, I love the accessories you can use to spice them up. :)

  25. Trish says:

It’s been raining a lot in NC, too. That blueberry looks HUGE! My dad has the original that first came out, I think. We do the same thing, though (having cell phones instead of a land line).
I don’t take baths, (haha) but I always used these little flowers that were kind of oily and floated on top of the water.

  26. Ruby says:

your phone home is way too adorable.
it would be really useful if my phone had a flash b/c ever photo i take with my phone comes out dark 7 just a little bit ugly…

ahh, i want a light up duckie for my bath! (if i had a bath)

  27. Lorik says:

  34. Anonymous says:

Your new phone is gorgeous! It’s so classy. I adore it :)

  35. xMickii says:

o-o; umm i don’t like posting stuff like that but each time i wrote a comment that is not long but just okay, then my comments is cut off o-o like the previous comment i posted( i hope this one won’t be cut off ) just wanted to know if i did something not right when writing(?)

    • jenny says:

Wordpress will cut off comments if there’s a “less than sign” so no angry faces or hearts using the less than sign and the number 3 ;)

  36. clara says:

you grew your own edamame beans? how fun is that! :D
i wish i had a bathtub too, then i can soak in there after a long day! ^^

  37. Anna says:

You are gorgeous, so shaddup! ahha :P But baaath!! I haven’t had a bath in forever :p I remember I always wanted to have a bathtub at home when I was younger so that I could buy pretty red pink-shaped things the women behind the counter at the supermarket said was meant to have in a bathtub :p Haha! But where do you get all the japanese bathing products? eBay?

I love the brown thing you’re BlackBerry’s in!! Haha, so cute!

  38. Genevieve says:

    *sigh* I wish I had a bathtub!

Welcome to the world of mobile contracts ;P
