Rained Out

Tuesday May 26, 2009

How was everyone’s Memorial Day!? This was mine….

:rainyumb:

It’s been raining since Monday and is supposed to stay raining until much into NEXT WEEK. GOD WHY!? :kanjicry:

At least there’s indoor shopping right!?!? :ladeeda:
I got this fake eyelash handler thing at Sephora. It’s supposed to help you place the lashes steadily on your lash line and then also store your lashes…

Does it work??? I guess so. Not as great as they would lead you to believe but it did cut down the time it usually takes me to place my lashes. But is it worth the $10.00? I’d say no. And the little tray for storing your lashes is just pointless. Not to mention who has just 1 pair of lashes? I guess some people do but typically it isn’t the case. And since I only wear lashes on weekends or for going out it really isn’t worth it. But, if you have a huuuuuuge problem putting on lashes maybe, just maybe it would be good. Either way you can return it if you hate it. I probably won’t b/c I’m lazy and it did make it slightly easier. It should only cost $5.00 though~ really. OoO
I was skeptical when I bought it though so no hurt feelings on my end! :P

I also picked up some cheap accessories! Hair bow clips for my bangs and adorable earrings! These were all $3.00 and less! :ohyeslovely: Got the mascara from my Sephora Beauty Insider points and bottom right is new lotion!

The lotion is NIVEA’s My Silhouette! Gel-Cream

I made 2 skeptical purchases this week and this is the other one!!

It’s suppose to redefine your shape. We’ll see! :skipping:
These types of lotions are already popular in Japan. I plan to visit my parents in July so today is the first day of my “diet and tone” agenda. I figured anything that might “help” couldn’t hurt! Hahahah.

It says it takes 4 weeks to see results so I’ll let you know. But yea, I’d like to lose 10 more lbs but half of that by July would make me happy enough. I’d be near the weight I was in college if I can lose it. I already made up some cabbage to eat after work to hold me over till dinner. I put some hot sauce (calorie free) in when I made it so it’s nice and spicy. :rainbowtwinkle: I’ve also set an alarm on my phone for every other day to do toning exercises :ruru: So We’ll see!! If in 1 month I haven’t lost anything or if I don’t see some toning in my legs I’m going to join the gym at my job. I’d obviously rather do it for cheaper at home, hahahaa :?:

OK I’m off!! I had such a rough day, here’s hoping tomorrow is much better!

LOL! I’m trying those body shaping gels too…the one I have is the one from Missha (Korean brand), which my aunt got free in Korea after buying a lot from that place xD; Atm, I don’t see any different and I’ve been using it for 3 weeks..OTZ.

  2. Mai says:

Did you get the bows/earrings at Amuse?

You must have wicked will power. I would never be able to just eat cabbage for a meal D:! Good luck :D.

    • Jenny says:

Why yes I did!!! That store is more like Paris Kids every day :P
Ah no, I only eat the cabbage as a snack between meals, I could never imagine such a small dinner *if only!*

  3. wow~ i wish it rained here sometimes ; o ;
i dont even remember the last time it rained~!!

    those bows are so cute~♥
waaahhh such adorable earrings as well~ where are they from~?
&& i love that hello kitty doll too ^__^♥♥

  4. Winn says:

It usually rains here during public holidays Dx and…
I HATE CABBAGE! :( It’s never tasty!!! Perhaps with MEAT and flavouring… but otherwise……… Dx

    • Jenny says:

*HOLDS STEAMED CABBAGE UP TO YOUR FACE AS TORTURE*
      MWAHAHAHAHAHA
I never had it growing up, I think that might help my love for it :P

      • Winn says:

OMG STEAMED CABBAGE?! THAT’S TOO MUCH Dx
I’ve never had brussel sprouts either but that’s ALSO cabbage related~ MEAT makes any veges taste good~ ;D YAY~

  5. Veronica says:

Aww mine was actually sunny … AND BURNY *I’m so white and red now*

I need to lose 10 lbs so bad – I saw a picture of myself was totally horrified haha XD

Thanks for the lash review, I’m looking at getting some …

  6. Thao says:

Yum. Boiled cabbage! I eat boiled cabbage soup with tofu every night with my dinner. In my head, it counters all the junk food I eat during the day, making me feel guiltless. Realistically, it probably doesn’t…

  7. Honeydew says:

Those hair bows and earrings are so cute!

I’m actually trying to lose some weight for this summer too. Have you tried going biking? It really does tone your legs. I went biking almost everyday last summer and it made my legs look much skinnier. The only problem with biking is that you can’t do it outside when it’s raining. D:

I’ve actually got a whole workout plan for this summer. I’m going to go biking every other day and jumping with a skip rope during the days in between when I don’t bike. I’m also working out with toning my arms with hula hoops and weight lifting with dumbbells. I’m hoping to lose 10lbs by July too!

  8. Meru says:

Ugh it has been raining here NONSTOP pretty much since… LAST Monday? T^T Feels like I’m NEVER going to see the sun again, and it fucking SUCKS for motivation!!!! I HATE RAIN, RAGE!!!!! >:O

Hmmm, that eyelash thing may help me yet. I’ve always wanted to wear fakes for cosplay, and always have unlucky results with putting them on. Thanks for pointing this out! :)

I know what you mean about the weight loss. I’ve been trying to lose several lbs. for a while, and finally I’m seeing results from not eating as much, cutting back junk and working out. I definitely recommend the gym because it makes results come so much faster if you put in the effort :]

    • Jenny says:

I totally feel your rage! I can’t remember it raining consecutively like this here before :(

It definitely helps placing the lashes on the mid portion then you just press down on the corners of your lash line to secure the ends.

I’m going to see if my office gym offers JUST course payments. They have 6 months for 130$ but 6 months is a long time =T

  9. lyc says:

hi dear … oh I was supposed to get dat nivea before …
but I did try another one which bottle in Blue .. which I think d result was just average … hmmm cuz i guess it might nid to apply on it for long term ..
otherwise d skin tone will b looser again …
bt I really think dat its useful if u eat more veggeeesss den eating steak etc ..

wish you good luck && hv a brand new day 2molo =)

    take care !!

  10. Becca says:

wouldn’t have thought the cabbage would be spicy.. but after i read spicy my mouth started watering :o

  11. toritori says:

You? Lose 10 more pounds? You’re already super light ):
But either way, good luck! I’m planning to lose 10 myself ^^
As for the lotion stuff, I’ve been seeing a bunch of ads for it, so in 4 weeks time, tell us how it goes!! :)

  12. Erin says:

    I’m sorry your Memorial Day was icky! Thank goodness the weather was nice in Hawaii. I would have been so sad if I wasn’t able to go to the beach ;_;

  13. jenn says:

its been raining in orlando for weeks now.. its nice and i like the rain but im getting so pale! plus being home a lot makes me more tempted to online shop. Dx

i just saw something about that nivea creme, tyra banks is doing this viewer challenge on it. http://tyrashow.warnerbros.com/nivea/

i keep on seeing sales on eyelashes or stuff about eyelashes, maybe its a sign i should buy some.. haha~

  14. cin says:

Gahh that must’ve sucked :( I hate it when it rains when I wanna go out..
Please let me knwo if the gel works! :p I really need to tone my body.. been lazy for the past yr or two… XD
I like youre ribbons btw~ Making the donuts now :D

  15. Ys says:

Aw shame about the weather. We’ve got rain and high winds today but then we’re meant to have super hot weather from tomorrow onwards. I hope it clears up for you too!

Cute purchases, as always :) yeah I wondered about the Nivea cream… I usually tend to think stuff like that doesn’t work so I’d be interested to hear your results :)

You want to lose just as much weight as I want to! I hope we both succeed :D

  16. Miamy says:

totally love that bow clipsss! love!
and I have always tried to have a diet plan for myself but I just fail each time :/
any suggestions on losing weight without exercising? I totally do not have time for it zzz

    • jenny says:

Last year I just changed my diet and lost 11lbs in 2 months. Basically banana or apple for breakfast. Snack on sunflower seeds (or something extremely low in kcals) till 12:00 lunch. For lunch nothing over 200kcal. Apple or other fruit for snack a few hours later. Kiwis are crazy low in kcals by the way. Then dinner can be whatever you want. Then no snacking after dinner except tea or sunflower seeds. (yea I adore sunflower seeds lol)

That’s basically my daily diet now, though it’s the no snacking after dinner part that really trips me up!! I’ll often get back into the habit of late night food :(. For lunch I tend to usually drink a slim fast but I know a lot of ppl hate those, I like em and eating solid foods for lunch tend to make me feel heavy & sick at work anyway.

And apples. I eat about 2 apples a day. I hated apples till I started my diet change, now I LOVE them and know all about the different kinds and which ones are great raw.

And tea or water! I drink tea nonstop! :)

It’s hard at first so you might need 2 fruit afternoon/morning snacks till your body gets used to less food. If you already eat that little & that healthy then I dunno. Low carb works for my hubby REALLY well but it makes me physically sick & fatigued. So this is the diet that worked for me.

      • Courtney says:

Why do you have to loose weight just to visit your parents? ∑(゚▽゚ ; ) lol That sounds pretty tough!
My goal is to loose about 5 more lbs/get rid of my tummy fat before August and my boyfriend comes back. I’ve definitely found it’s rather easy to start eating less if you just eat more slowly/stop when you’re mostly full. It takes awhile for you to judge how full you are, so I normally find if I stop eating when I’m like 80% full I feel totally full in a half hour or so.
That seems like an incredible loss just from diet change. I should get some sunflower seeds/peanuts/pistachios for all those snacky moments, too.

        • Miamy says:

Ahhh thanks for the advice, Jenny.. :)

Im seriously gonna try it out! Will tell ya if it works for me kekeke :D Actually I don’t eat much and in fact, my friends often scold me because I can’t finish my food most of the time. I love tea too although I prefer coffee more :P

I’ll bring fruits to Uni and eat it in class hahaha!

  17. Daisy says:

those cabbages actually look/sound pretty good
with the hot sauce and stuff, haha xD

i hate the rain, it makes me so sad D:
unless it’s pouring rain and i’m not outside, that feels better hehe =3
    good luck with the diettt

  18. ashica says:

I love the cute hair bows!

    Good luck with the diet!
I need motivation to start going to the gym again, my membership is wasting away! I usually go at night, but I’ve been too tired to go the past few weeks, I’m thinking of trying to go in the mornings.

What sauce did you use with your cabbage? Looks yum!

  19. Zoraida says:

It hasn’t rained here for a week. Which is weird! Because it’s Seattle! Gahh, we should trade weather for a bit :)

I’ve been wondering where you get your earrings? They’re so cute and the packaging looks like it’s from either Icing or Claire’s?! Either way, you’ve got great style! ;)

  20. Sapphire says:

ooh wow 10$ for that?? yeah i’d say its not worthhh it T_T~
love the other things you got really cute ^_^

  21. emm says:

i make so many skeptical purchases
im never sure about anything other than things like
    orange juice..
    lol
    =))
it’s ok the sun will be out soon!

  22. Lexxii says:

I totally understand, it has been raining nonstop here in Orlando pretty much too. But some of it has been kind of nice, it cools everything down at least. Especially since I have no A/C right now… x.X

I would definitely be interested in seeing if that lotion worked sounds interesting and kind of strange how nowadays we have lotion that shrinks you… O.O

The bows are adorable too I wanna see what your hair looks like with them :3

  23. Lorik says:

ahhh! cabbage! i love cabbage…my grandmother made me cabbage dolma…isn’t as healthy as what you are eating haha but it’s cabbage!! http://www.hamovhotov.com/Recipes_mv_Cabbage_Dolma.htm

The weather has been really nice in Cali…yesterday and today have been a little milder, but still beautiful~ i hope you get some nice weather soon!!!!

  24. Marie says:

LOOOVE that adorable bows, unfortunatly i have short hair [use to long R.I.P] and i don’t know what to do with it. do u think a simple bow will at least give some style to it?

NIVEA’s My Silhouette to be honest doesn’t seem like it’ll do much, concidering it is JUST A CREAM. I have eczema were i do wear cream now and then, but it doesnt give effect if i don’t use it EVERYDAY. I’m thinking “My Silhouette just might be the same” What’s ur imput?

    • jenny says:

When I had super short hair I’d buy colorful bobby pins. These bows would work too. They are small and use tong clamps for securing.

I dunno bout the NIVEA stuff since it takes 4 weeks to see results. I’m skeptical but using it twice a day isn’t a challenge for me. I already have daily routines in place. :P

  25. Meli says:

well yesterday it rained the whole day and today it was nice and cool :] i cant stand hot weather…. the reason why I look like as pale as a ghost :0

Ohhhh I dont like the sound of steamed cabage but i LOVE KIMCHI!!!!!!!! and its supposed to be good for you love love love kimchi!!! if only i was korean then i would be able to eat kimchi for every meal and not be judged

  26. Sumoni says:

It’s too bad it rained. But it makes the flowers grow. I wallk home twice a week to stay in shape. I highly suggest stretching before you do any long walks, it really helps to prevent leg cramps. How long did it take you to put on your eyelashes the very first time?

  27. Reena says:

Those shaping lotions are what I usually find in Japanese Magazines, I’m planning to buy one soon since I just started a diet today, I wish it really does work in a 4 weeks time x(

Here, the rain doesn’t seem to like me very much, every time I step outside, the rain would pour in! urghhh.

  28. yumyumsushi says:

eh, sorry about all the rain :(
but yay for shopping lol, always a good cheer up.
i like the bows, very cute :) i’ve been bow obsessed lately -_-; haha
&& eye lashes…bahhhh i’ve tried it before, idk, i’m not great with them it is pretty when it’s on though haha

  29. Shirley says:

I have a sad feeling that the weather here in Boston isn’t going to make for a happy prom or graduation :[

  30. レイカ says:

raaain raaaaain go away. it’s been raining all day here too :(

you MUST let me know if the nivea lotion works! i’m a bit skeptical, but the tyra show made a HUGE deal about it a while back.

good luck with the diet! it’s so hard, but you’ll be glad when you start seeing results. i plan on loosing about 10kg myself *_* damn you ViVi for making want to look good in a bikini!!

    頑張ってね!!

  31. hannie says:

aww, bummer you had a bad memorial day :(

but i love Benefit’s Bad Gal Lash mascara…. it works reallllllly well!

  32. Megan says:

It’s been raining here, too. I want it to be full-blown Summer already even if that means 100 degree weather! Tired of this crappy crappy rain :(

Eat high-fiber / high-protein foods! They help you burn fat/calories and also help with muscle toning ^_^

  33. Jenny says:

yea it rained here to. been raining all week. it kinda sucks because allan has been cranky all week. i blame the weather.

  34. Erica says:

Dang it rained on Memorial Day? I wish we had some rain here in so. Cal.

Gosh you don’t need to go on a diet, you’re skinny already~

  35. Jing says:

Cabbage, if done right, tastes really good :) Steamed cabbage is really nice. I’ve had it before at a buffet. At home, I cook it with soy sauce, vinegar (the Asian kind…not sure how to say it in English O_o), and this Japanese soup base (I know that sounds weird, but it actually helps a lot with the flavoring). You could also chop the cabbage up and mix it with other veggies to make a cool refreshing salad :) LOL, I’m not a very good cook, but these are a few things that I’ve had. ANYWAY, I have that exact same Hello Kitty plush in those photos XD I used to collect Hello Kitty plush. I’m thinking of selling them off someday because I’m over my Hello Kitty craze ^^

  36. Tori says:

Those earrings are adorableee~ :) & omg, I keep seeing the commercial for that lotion~ do tell if it works!

Also~ Benefit’s Bad Gal Lash mascara is one of my favourites~ love how it comes in an extra-long tube so you get lots of it too! :)

  37. Jenii says:

Weather here has been pretty shit until this afternoon. I think most of the weather from MD/VA travels up this way so we get it a few days later? Something like that.

Lovely purchases :D The earrings are fabulous!! So cute!! Ooh…lash grips. Seen a bunch of those @ Japanese markets ($6?) and they seem like a great help…but I suppose not? Sorry it didn’t help out as much as :T I’ve yet to venture into fake lashes (scared)!!

Wii FIT!!! I was going to get one instead of the ice cream machine…but umm, hahaha yeah. So much for working out for me! And we even have a work-out/lifting/mini-gym in our building!! Too bad we’re never home ;;==

Hope your diet/exercise plans work out!! I’m sure you’ll be fabulous come trip time :D :D

  38. kikay says:

hi jenii this is a little off topic but i was wondering if you’ve ever tried any of the japanese “hair waters” … what exactly are they supposed to do? is it just fragrance?

btw i went to taiga and i think im spoiled out here in LA with newstands as big and stocked as a regular newsstand. if you ever come out here i am spoiling you rotten too! haha xx

    • jenny says:

Oh god yea LA’s stores are WAY bigger! But sadly this is all we have in DC.

Never used the stuff but I see it a lot. Usually it’s just a fragrance.

  39. Alyssa says:

Good luck! Can’t wait to hear about the results. It’s getting close to winter in Australia and it’s just so damn hard *not* to roll up into a ball drinking hot chocolate next to the heater D:

  40. Meygan says:

    Cute bows
