Summer Made an Appearance!

Sunday, May 24th, 2009 | 51 Comments

So hot yesterday & today! I was so happy! Bright and sunny
I laid out for an entire hour yesterday. I’m a little red but it’s only mild so my translucent skin should hopefully enjoy that dose of Vitamin D.

We went to Bethesda and had lunch at Louisiana Kitchen and Bayou Bar yesterday. It was fantastic! I wore a new tee from YesStyle. I really like this tee. It’s oversized and the material isn’t thin like most t-shirts I have. I don’t get that, most Tees you HAVE to layer or else you can see straight through them. This “LOVE” tee is extremely opaque without being too thick! So it kept me nice and cool

The hat’s from YesStyle too! It says HTML on it… YOU CAN NOT IMAGINE HOW BADLY I NEEDED THIS HAT! Being a web developer it’s perfection! Hahahaha, plus it’s a cute color!
Win ~ win!

Gumbo & cajun fries

I bought some macaroons as well!

I picked up some t-shirts on sale at Bloomingdale’s too this weekend. Memorial Day is so great for shopping~ I got this Disney Couture shirt plus a cute Junk Food shirt (no picture of that yet.) I tried on the Love Potion 9 tee and it fit so great! Worn and stretched. BUT at $60.00 I decided not to get it. Also tried on these pale pink jeans at H&M. I have to say my bright pink jeans from Forever21 were cheaper AND looked better on me. I looked kinda wide in the hips in the pale pink plus you could see the pockets through the thin fabric (why my shirt is pulled so far down in the pic! hahaha) The Jill Stuart tee in the photo is new too! From YesStyle again!

TOTALLY inspired by Kumicky’s outfit from Popteen

I really don’t have many t-shirts. I only started buying t-shirts in the past year because the style is starting to match what I want finally! Before ALL girls’ t-shirts were super fitted babydoll tees that stopped right at the waist, or even worse, belly button! This style looks TERRIBLE on me. I have a big chest and the short length made me look gigantic and fat! But now tees are more like tunic length a lot of times!! The extra length helps balance out my top :hai: Not to mention the over-sized tees available now! I love those :*:

Lastly
THANKS JENII!

Super cute gifties! First off, OWLS FTW! I love the ice cube kabob tray! I already popped them in for drinks tomorrow on the holiday! The stationery is really nice and the paperclips will totally be getting some attention when I take it into work to keep me company at my desk all day!

LATER GUYS!!
HAVE A GREAT MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND :sketchheart:

Isn’t it hilarious how much Mickey is in Popteen!? Like old Florida Disney shirts = cool now. I remember when just Moms wore those shirts! Hahhahaa and now Disney Couture is selling them for $40 a pop!

Very cute T-Shirts. I do love how there is more long stuff now. I was always confused why they were always soo short, my long torso never fit right in it… :/

I’ve totally seen that Mickey shirt before! I saw a girl with it on at Disney today. I was like awww. Haha

P.S. Lol @ hat

That is the best hat ever! I need something like that on my head, too. And you’re right about the whole t-shirt debacle … they’re either way too thin so all you see is bra, or they are way too short. I still have trouble finding longer ones, but I’m glad you’re not!

And those macaroons look DELICIOUS.

Oh, that is one of the EXACT reasons why I don’t have very many tees either. I’m currently trying to find some nice graphic tees that are long and loose. I look fat in tbose short, tight-fitted tees too. D:

That hat is so cute and you always look so happy and cheerful in your pictures, it’s cute!

the HTML hat!!!! me wants! xD and i love oversized tees because they always make me look thinner hahahaha.

ps. did you know you look like a Japanese girl wearing that tee and hat with your lovely Cher bag? Super cute!! x))

Ahhh! I hate tees that are completely transparent! It’s like, what’s the point of wearing a tee if I have to wear something under it so my bra doesn’t show!?! :(

But gahhh, that food looks gooood!

I never figured out the price difference between F21 and H&M. I always thought they were the same?

jenny said
May 25, 2009 @ 10:35 pm

H&M is usually at least 10$ more on any item compared to Forever 21.

Don’t you just love YesStyle? I just wish that it didn’t take like 3 weeks to ship sometimes haha. I must say, loose/baggy tees are

jenny said
May 25, 2009 @ 10:36 pm

Yea, agreed. Though it’s nice they have a section for just shopping what’s “in stock” so it gets there faster but most of the cute stuff is sitting in some other country! Hahahah

Just got back from our huge thrift store’s 50% everything sale - I like to take mental pictures of what people wear in J Mags so I can put together an outfit in my mind, haha then buy the right pieces

The macarons look really yum, but I don’t know where to get them around here (Kansas City, MO). I might have to try making them D:

jenny said
May 25, 2009 @ 10:39 pm

They’re actually still hard to find around here in DC. Last year NEAR IMPOSSIBLE but this year I found 3 new places. Trends catching on I think~ There are a lot of recipes on for them! If I didn’t suck so bad at baking I’d attempt them, hahahaa

Megan said
May 26, 2009 @ 5:29 am

haha, I’m not that good at it yet either but I figure I won’t get better if I don’t practice!

I just bookmarked about 10-15 different macaron recipes so we’ll see

OH YES long tunic tees! those are the besttt especially those times when i’m too lazy to suck in my tummy fat for my tight-fitted tees (they do look nice around the curves tho *_*), lol lol.

awww you look so cute in oversized shirts! & a definite LOL @ “HTML 92″ cap, that’s awesome. summer is definitely around! sunshine & heat, oh my! vitamin D is healthy good, but don’t forget your sunscreen too!

also - WOW! you’re really lucky to have amazing friends that give you plentiful gifts. totally blew me awayyyy~

Wow, I loved the stuff you ordered off of YesStyle–I’m thinking about at least getting the T-shirt! (The hat is definitely FTW but I always think I look silly in hats…↓↓-_- You signed up to do promotion with YesStyle, right? I’m really interested in doing that as well, could you tell me about how it works? Those gifts are really cute, too; you seem to get a lot of those! haha

I am very grateful for over-sized tees. Back in the days, I couldn’t wear most of the tees because they were either too small or felt too tight on me. I hate tight fitting cloth. What’s funny is that I’m pretty skinny, and they still don’t fit on me. I’m like “how DO people wear these???” Now everything is more loose fitting. Thank God Anyway, what I really wanted to say is that I adore your Mickey tee

I love wearing disney couture! I always get mine cheap at flea markets in LA.
I always want to buy dresses at yesstyle but i’m scared it’s going to be too small.

I love eating at Louisiana Kitchen and never realized they had one outside of Louisiana.

I also seen a couple of big t-shirts around here, but some of the designs are questionable.

Super cute outfits . I can’t wait until I graduate from college as a web developer and have official rights to buy that hat .

I work at H&M as a part-time job, and even sometimes even I like to lean towards F21 more because of style. F21 is MUCH cheaper in price, but also in quality IMO. H&M’s not that much better, but thats why I wait for everything to go on sale :3

Waah, where did you buy the macaroons? What do they taste like o_o?
