OPI Once a Cheetah Always a Cheetah

Friday, May 13th, 2011 | 48 Comments

OPI “once a cheetah, always a cheetah” nail polish

It’s from the new Safari Luxe collection at Sephora. It’s an opaque orange with gold glitter! I tried it on in the store last night and just went nuts over it. So purchased!

Oh yaaaa~ this will go nicely with my new silky blue top from Zara! I was wanting to buy a few different things from Zara’s last night. Deciding between rich blue and bright orange! I haven’t WANTED to purchase rich colors in A LONG LONG TIME. ANYWAY, now I can have my blue AND orange!

I’m channeling this sudden casual~mature whatever you want to call it vibe this week. Mostly for work. Clean line clothing in rich shades. Also I want to pair it with white woven sandals and a monogrammed canvas tote from LLBean. I need a new work bag. Mine’s 3 years old and from a 100 yen store!!! Lol the Daiso actually. Going to go hunt for those 2 things tomorrow.

I was expecting to buy more from Zara actually, but for various reasons, I narrowed it down to a top and cami. Everything looked better on the hanger fml lolool and if I didn’t LOVE it I didn’t buy it. And one top smelled funny like the dye used to make the print or something. God I have such a severe love/hate with Zara. Probably for the best

I also tried on this 3-D Flower Mesh Jumper from American Apparel in pink. I think it’s so beautiful! But it’s really not comfortable to wear. It’s a bit scratchy and heavy~ Definitely not for every day wear and at $88 I put it back. Ah but it IS lovely. Maybe it’ll go on sale because summer is SO CLOSE!

nail polishes +_+ they are my downfall. i have too many and i buy too many because i always think “OH i don’t have it in this EXACT shade!” i say this because now i want to go buy some orange-y shade similar to that cheetah one. so pretttty!!

hm that flower top is…interesting?? not something i would want, maybe because the 3D-ness of it makes it look weird (to me! I mean, just to ME it looks strange)

You don’t like the top!? WE ARE NO LONGER FRIENDS! Haahaaaaaa xDDDDDD

I’m surprised by some of the things that attract my interest tbh. But $88 psssssssssssssh no way jose’!

Mmm I’m not supposed to be buying too many polishes. I told myself it was OK b/c it’s high quality and not cheap drugstore brand. I recently went through and trashed my old & hardly used polishes (or sent them to my sis.) So I really do have limited colors but already a few months later I’m collection more & more again *facepalm

FRIENDSHIP DESTROYED AFTER I DISS A TOP YOU LIKE :(

acutally there are quite a few tops like that around here (not exactly taht design but with the whole 3d flower thing) and they just look really sort of gaudy in person?? like, WAY to big 3D-flowers or bad material (but what can you expect from a top that is only $10). STILL i will keep an eye out for you for a good quality top that matches that. probably cheaper than $88 8D

Hahahahah you’re sweet! Yes, help me find my MUST HAVE GAUDY GRANDMA TOP! I need SOMETHING to wear to bingo & casino slots DDDD

LOVE the cut & drape of that top! It’ll be cute paired with shorts like in the photo for non-work days too :3
Good luck in your shopping ventures tomorrow! I think you’re still doing an awesome job not buying ‘frivolous’ things, haha ;Dvv

So true, I actually feel a sense of pride in getting just this top which I have SO much I can match it with that, even though it’s a tad different than most my stuff, it’ll fit in nicely. It hangs on me so nicely, I thought it would be very potato-sack looking & almost didn’t try it on, but I’m glad I did!

oh god i need to go to sephora now … i really love their glitter polishes b/c they are not chunky and very shimmery, and the orange color is really unique. also, their golden glitter is /THE BEST/. i can’t remember what the name is off the top of my head, but their red w/ gold glitter polish is my favorite red everrrr. you should post pictures of your nails once you use it!

also, the 3d flower top has been a favorite of mine forever now. i always see a lot of coordis with it on lookbook, but the price seems too large for something that needs to be a statement piece and seems odd to wear you know … to go grocery shopping or something. i hope it goes on sale for you!

Stoooooop you’re gonna make me buy that red & gold one! HAHAHAHAA! I’m a recent convert to OPI. I avoided it b/c I’m such an “instant dry” freak but after buying my first OPI I find it dries pretty quickly! AND NOW I LOVE THE BRAND!

Yeah it’s such a heavy AA top & of course AA price =_=;;;

well if you do, it’s a nicole color called “i stop for nicole”! i’ve had it for a while now and it still works like a charm. i like to use it for minnie inspired nails. ^___^;; ikr i recently converted to opi also! they always have fun colors for when you feel really down but want something ~wild~ lol, and i notice they dry pretty quickly and if you’re careful they don’t chip for a long while.

ugh american apparel is even more ridiculous in canada … they price simple black leggings at like $30 when you can easily go to a store like wal-mart, target, etc. and get the same quality for $5?!

jenny said
May 13, 2011 @ 9:32 pm

YES! They are so chip resistant! That was the first big THING I noticed with my first bottle. I went a full week with no chipped nails I couldn’t believe it.

I do NOT understand AA’s prices, seriously. And it’s even MORE for you guys!? I hardly ever go in there. Like a few times a year maaaaaybe because I always walk out going “troolol I don’t think so”

love the nail polish! sounds like such a perfect color.. all of the colors I own go t completely ruined! I’m really looking forward to getting some really nice, new ones! the tought excites me ~

I love dressing in rich & solid colors.. it’s my ‘default’ look LOL I tend to like casual things ~ nothing flashy.. They don’t work well with me

I can tell that the jumper’s uncomfortable just by looking at it.. but it would have looked lovely! I have a passion for comfort..

This one is like having the sunset on your fingers

Yeah I find that if something isn’t comfortable, at least a little, I won’t wear it as much as I think I will.

Oh I have that floral jumper from AA in white! It is a little itchy and heavy but I love it! I bought when I had one of them $25 for $50 worth of merchandise coupons, so I justified it!

jenny said

WORTH IT!! If I could just get it a little discounted I’d probably buy it xDD

I only went to Zara a few times when I lived in SF, but I always loved their clothing! The styling on their website is such eye candy, too! Simple, but with bold, bright colors.

I have the black 3D flower mesh jumper! I love it so much and got it for a little bit cheaper at an American Apparel outlet, so if you can find one you should get it! They’re lovely even though they’re heavy. :’(

And I adore the blue/orange combo. I always love/hate Zara too… it’s so hard to find something that fits right and looks good.

jenny said
May 15, 2011 @ 5:26 pm

Gah I wish I had one of their outlets near me. Yea I just wish it were a tad cheaper. If it weren’t going into summer I’d probably have gotten it.

Zara’s fits are so random collection to collection :( Sometimes it looks great & as expected, other times it’s obvious they were made for someone much taller than myself.

i am dumb, there was a warning about using that character under the posting box and everything! my comment was:

“i love that jumper from aa! i’ve been debating buying it for ages. i’m totally obsessed with that store lately. so many cute, well-designed basics in sizes small enough to fit me properly!
btw - they have a running promotion where if you sign up for their newsletter, you get 20% off any online order. just go to their storefront and there’s a little ad to click on for it.”

I love the colour of that top! But I’m always so wary of loose tops, but that’s what’s in fashion right now! I kind of wish waistlines would come back in… not like super tight, but just some waist would be nice :(.

AA prices are ridiculous by the way. I just need some basics, they have nice basics, and yet they’re like… way more expensive than normal basics! Bah!

jenny said
May 15, 2011 @ 5:29 pm

They are like the most expensive basics EVER. And funnily enough when H&M sells basics they sellout CRAZY FAST like slip dresses x( Affordable & so useful.

Ugh! Don’t you just hate it when you find something that looks great on but just isn’t comfy and you know that if you buy it you won’t wear it more than once! I hope that it goes on sale for you soon! Nice polish colour! It looks so vibrant and definitely summer ready! Coral-type colours are so in this year, I need to grab a nice coral lipstick!

Thankfully I read online reviews and was prepared for it to be both & heavy & itchy. I had to see for myself and sure enough. Beyond my comfort threshold LOL

jenny said

I’ve gotten a few things there on sale. Their sales are crazy complicated, like “polka dot items 5% off with extra 25% off when you buy two!” I mean… what!? LOL It’s like deciphering hieroglyphics.

May 15, 2011 @ 9:22 am

In love with that top. And I want those shorts too. Bold, rich colors are pretty much my favorite thing right now.

That polish looks lovely as well~
