My Beauty Diary Chocolate Truffle Mask

Friday June 24, 2011

Last night I used a new mask from the My Beauty Diary brand called Chocolate Truffle. I got it from Yesstyle here! I like this brand. :deco3: It doesn’t break me out and does a good job with moisturizing and tightening. :ok:

Moisturizing and softening the face in a 20-minute treatment.

When I first opened the Chocolate Truffle mask I expected it to be brown! Like the Bihada Ichizoku chocolate mask you know. But nope! It’s pure white! The scent wasn’t as sugary as I expected either! It was a subtle bitter cocoa scent! Not overpowering at all. :deco10:

Though it wasn’t what I expected (chocolate indulgent smell and look to the max,) I was really happy with it! ::9: So moisturizing. And a relaxing and enjoyable, slightly sweet scent. :deco15: Definitely a nice addition to the already great line!

There’s an Early Grey & Macaron one that’s out too! It’s for “illuminating & clarifying.” Here’s a page of most of the mask types. I’ve tried a few others from the line. I currently have the Bulgarian White Rose masks too. :deco1:

What else~~ :P

I built the boxes I got from IKEA. :ok: I mainly bought them for my closet. Now I’m just painstakingly thinking how to reorganized many of my things. I’m sorta struggling between better organization and just dealing with change. :drops: Whether or not to pull all my tights from their current storage (Japanese shopping bags) and consolidate them in 1 box or what… I already put my backstock of lashes and makeup :make: into a box pulling them from various bags and such. It sounds stupid and like something should be simple. But if I end up not liking the changes it’s just more wasted time. I want to get the most optimal use out of my limited space ^_^:deco6:

i really like that brand of face masks! i was just talking about them with one of my taiwanese friends and she thought it was funny/sort of sad how they are expensive here where as in taiwan (where they come from) they’re so cheap and you can find them in any store, including convenience stores. (but she still likes them haha)

      JEEEEEEEEEEEEAOULS. All we have are the crappy ones… hum.. Montagne Jeunesse or whatever ;____;

      • Sidney says:

I KNOOOOOOW but it’s like that with any imported stuff. though i do wonder why we don’t have more facemask stuff!! it’s SO easy to use but i’ve never thought to buy an american brand before :(

  2. Suzu says:

your photos are always so pretty even when theyre only of simple things like boxes ! hahah

love your blog ! x) you’re such an inspiration :’)

  3. felicia says:

hmm maybe i should give them a try one of these days
    i can never buy face masks because all the good ones i’ve heard about are so expensive at the oriental store D;

  4. Mika says:

Ah, I love your reviews of face masks, and just about any other product. It really makes me want to buy them and try them.

  5. Tiffany says:

    I’ve been so wanting Beauty Diary Masks ;___;
I’ve heard nothing but good things about the whole line, and I’m glad you liked it! Maybe I’ll buy it now!

    • jenny says:

There are definitely plenty to choose from plus they make variety boxes which was what I had the first time I ever tried them! I really like this brand as well as Bihada Ichizoku brand of masks. :)

  6. Miya says:

Ive built those boxes before! they definitely make everything look more streamlined and organized!

  7. zoraida says:

I just stuff everything in tiny bags … which isn’t a good idea because I tend to forget where I put things but .. whatever! I hope your organization goes well :D

  8. momo says:

OMG now I want all those you got :p
Chocolate looks so cute, even to me who doesn’t like choco :) I must buy those box as well.. want it! Hahahaa..

    • jenny says:

You might like this a lot then b/c it’s not colored or even really scented like chocolate! Just a subtle fine cocoa smell on a white mask :)

  9. Tori says:

That mask sounds so nice~ I love the thought of a macaron one too!
Good luck with your closet space reorganisation too~ mine needs an overhaul itself, haha XD

  10. Pam says:

I love both masks so much!! Great for days when my skin needs a pick-me-up! and I seriously need some organisation advice too.. hahaah..

  11. omg i really wanna try the earl grey one now~~i just got the platnium + pearl life stretch mask one today n_n

  12. lissy says:

i love those masks too, bought heaps in hongkong :)
i think i also need to re-organise my wardrobe too~

  13. tiff says:

If someone was wearing a chocolate mask, I’d try to wipe some of it off with wheat bread and then begin to taste it.

    Just kidding, that was gross.

I love those little storage boxes, IKEA is awe-some.

  14. Lily says:

I love all the cute Japanese beauty products you use!
I’m kinda facing the same organization as you. I just started my summer vacation and want to reorganize my whole room because I cleared out my dorm. Unpacking is such a gruelling activity :(

  15. Thanh Thao says:

Must be so awesome to have chocolate on your face XDD But too bad it can’t be eaten up after using, lol

    • jenny says:

Haahaa yeah, the Bihada Ichizoku one was like that, like having real chocolate on your face. But this one wasn’t like that at all. It was white and not creamy or anything. :)

  16. Rubi says:

I have been doing alot of organizing too, it feels good when there’s change~ and when it’s done right!
& I really like the sound of the Bulgarian white rose mask, I hope it’s just as good as the truffle one!

    • jenny says:

I think it is. It has a nice smell and moisturizes as well :) I just haven’t taken the time to blog about it unfortunately.

  17. Jisoo says:

what was the name of the boxes and how much were they?
I totally agree with you about the organization though. Whenever I buy new storage stuff, I never know what to put in there because I’m worried if I don’t like the way they look or where htey are then I’ll have to take them ALL back out and then start over which really is a waste of time XD. You’re not the only one who feels that way!

    • jenny says:

They were called Kassette or something. They’re under storage on IKEA.com. I can’t remember the cost. Very cheap. Like $5 for 2 large ones.

  18. Miamy says:

I have to agree that masks by My Beauty Diary are awesome! And it is also very affordable for something so good. I always go back to this brand when using this kind of mask. :)
There are many ‘pirated’/fake ones in Asia though. I got cheated once because the packaging was so similar. D: I mean it was exactly the same!

Anyway, may I know what app did u use for the photo of the masks with bokeh? Just curious! :)

    • jenny says:

Ugh that’s awful!! How was the fake mask? Hope it didn’t break you out or smell bad or anything! I still think even with import cost this set is affordable. You get 10 so it’s only about $2 a mask which US brand masks cost anyway & aren’t half as nice or effective.

      I forget the app’s name b/c it’s in chinese which I don’t know at all =Y

  19. Tilleul says:

I love those paper masks. One of the best things I got from Japan was a pack of just the paper masks to which you added your own toner.

I’m the same way with organizing, I’ll be thinking to myself, “would it be better to put these on this shelf or that shelf…or in a drawer, or…Gah! Just put it away!”

    • jenny says:

Oh I’ve seen those and actually tried a few free samples. I saw they work best with one of those personal face steamers!

Yeah with organizing I’m so worried b/c if I make the stuff too difficult to get to easy I’ll not ever use/ear it anymore. x(

  20. kaoru says:

oh…i love My Beauty Diary!!!!! they are soooo cheap when i bought mine in hong kong! 3 boxes for only $13 USD!!!! should have bought more!
my local beauty store sells $10USD for only 1 box! =(

    • jenny says:

Ugh that’s SUCH A GOOD DEAL!!! Yeah these are 10 for $20. But actually the cheap US ones are $2 each too so it’s not much different plus the quality of these are way better.

  21. cin says:

Yum~~ Chocolate face mask~ Macaron face mask~ They both sounds delicious hehehe
I love the mask you sent me too! That smelt lovely :D
Ohhh yess organising! I’ve been doing that with my room lately and I’ve put all my make up in separate pouches now depending on the product type (eyes, lips, base, cheeks, palettes) and then I put all the pouches in my big make up pouch! hehehe At least that made use of all the furoku pouches I got just laying around~

    • jenny says:

I sent you the Hydrangea one right!? I loved that mask’s scent! And the packaging too :)

I organize my daily make sorta like that too now! I keep all my Shu Uemura/Candy Doll/Dolly Wink in 1 pouch & the rest in others and just bring whichever pouch of makeup I want to wear that day with me to work xD

  22. sukipooki says:

OMG!!! I’ve wanted to try the new tea time masks from MBD for the longest time but haven’t been able to justify paying the shipping cost hahaha but I probably will eventually or just tag along with my sister when she places her huge orders =P I also think that they’re great for moisture, to be honest I sometimes leave that mask on for nearly an hour! There’s just so much on the mask!

I hope your able to figure out the changes you and am able to organize/ change the things you want to your way!

  23. mishi says:

Man, at least you have some kind of new start~ organizing can be such a pain =x *looks at room*

The packaging for the face masks is cute ^^

  24. Einna says:

Oh I love MBD! I haven’t tried them yet but the new ones sound so delicious. XD
I’m definitely going to stock up while I’m still in Taiwan!! They are waaay to expensive in Vancouver…

  25. miney says:

chocolate for face mask ! i shall try it.

  26. Becca says:

ooh I don’t think I could handle a real chocolate face mask (even if it’s just chocolate flavoured) I will end up licking it ……..

    dangerous haha

  27. Joey says:

Oh, I absolutely love MBD masks. They’ve got such a great variety! Glad to hear it works well for you.

  28. Huynh says:

I always wanted to try out that brand of masks (or any masks at all) but the cost >.

    • jenny says:

Yeah if they’re imported than can be costly. There are some America brand ones from the makers “Montagne Jeunesse” that are about $1.00~$2.00 each and sold at drugstores, Claire’s, Wal-Mart/K-mart etc type places :) I’ve used them before & they’re pretty good too :) They even have a chocolate one.

  29. L says:

    Ikea boxes are love :)

  30. kaoru says:

    hey jenny,
why dont u try ordering from this site? http://www.artiestyle.com/Facial-Mask_c4.htm
they have some good mask too!

  31. Elisa says:

I have the MBD chocolate truffle one as well.. and the hello kitty versions.. but i still need to try those out xD didn’t have the time yet…

  32. Ys says:

Ah I need more storage. Those white boxes are very cute. I love organising my stuff ;)

  33. Courtney says:

yes yes it’s important to store things efficiently! Especially on those busy mornings!

Never heard of sweet-themed masks! Wow! that’s interesting :O
