Candle Night Summer Solstice 2007. Turn out your lights for two hours on the Summer solstice, June 22nd, eight to ten p.m.

Do something special-Read a book with your child by candlelight. Enjoy a quiet dinner with a special person.

This night can mean many things for many people.
A time to save energy, to think about peace, to think about people in distant lands who share your planet.

Pulling the plug open the window to a new world.
Awakens as to human freedom and diversity.
It is a process, finding a larger possibility of the human civilization.
By turning off lights for only two hours, we will be all loosely connected.

Let’s make a “wave of darkness” spread over the globe together.
On the evening of Summer solstice, June 22nd, for two hours from 8 to 10 p.m.

HEY!
I’m wanting to do this, would anyone else!? Maybe take a pic of your candles or whatever and post it here on a special blog entry??!! Ne? Does that sound completely stupid lame or would anyone else be interested? :girlquestion: :girlexcite:

Wow, that is special. I think this is probably more effective towards homes instead of large scale buildings. Hope people take this chance and make a difference

I would do it, but only in my room because my parents would go crazy if i turn off everything in the house. My mom gets a headache if there isn’t enough light. Then again, she gets a headache if there’s also too much light. @_@

Man, that sounds like fun. I think I’ll do that. I have 1 or 2 candles I can burn for 2 hours. A hair change always makes me feel better too!

I actually really like this idea! I live right smack dab in a big city though, so even when I turn out all of my lights it’s annoyingly bright in my little apartment. Grrrrr….

I’ll try it though!
