New Haircut

Thursday, August 20th, 2009 | 54 Comments

Got my hair cut today! I’ve been needed a change lately. Sometimes I just feel it deep inside, I need to start anew! Lately I feel, though I loved my long hair, I just wasn’t excited about it anymore. It felt heavy and took so much time to style. Lost a couple of inches in length! HAPPILY THOUGH! GOOD BYE DEAD ENDS!

I was on the fence about the cut till I was flipping through an issue of Last Summer’s Pinky and noticed how different Coco looked now with shorter hair! I think she looks so COOL now! She was cute before, but now she really stands out on her own and I though, “Maybe that’s what I need lately? It’s time for a better change?” Though I didn’t want to go as short as that, hahahaa, not just yet!

Coco 2008

Coco 2009

BEFORE

Took these last night.
Air dried.
Waves are from wearing it in a ponytail all day! LOL

Yes, my hair is naturally that flat & dead, hahahaha.
I didn’t even blow dry it yesterday. No product either. I kept it up in a ponytail all day so that’s why there’s a wave. Otherwise it would be straight flat

AFTER

Literally in the car outside the salon!
hahaha

STYLED

It’s nice to have a cut I like both styled and plain! For years now I’ve only ever liked my hair cut when styled. It’s a lot less pressure now on days I’m rushed to get out the door!

After the cut I went out and picked up my magazines finally. renewed my subscription to Pinky & Ageha. Sadly they didn’t have Vivi in. Someone else must be buying them up There are more & more people there when I go now. Sure, I’m happy they have business! But I get a bit GRRR when certain magazines get sold out. I don’t like Vivi enough to subscribe though, so my own fault.

Since we were already in Rockville we stopped for a quick dinner at a new place called Rolls ‘n Rice, Japanese Bistro. It was GOOD! It’s like a quick-bite eatery where you purchase your food first, but the space they have is so big and modernly decorated it’s really inviting to stay and enjoy your food there instead! I got the Bulgogi Bowl while Mike got the Bulgogi Bento. (And yes, I know bulgogi is Korean, hahaa) VERY DELICIOUS. They also served us some complimentary salads. Their ginger dressing was really nice and light. Not mayo filled like many other Japanese restaurants. Mike won’t even eat it if the dressing is like that. So he was really excited, hahaha, he actually got to enjoy a ginger salad for once.

We’ll be going back for sure! It’s reasonable priced too! There are so many fail cafes out there. It’s surprising but it can be difficult to find a place that actually has good food. This place definitely has GOOD food and quite a good selection of meals. I can see Mike wanting to go here a lot, hahahaa. Which is good!

I love your new hair!! It’s super, super cute when it’s curled. You have such a great hairdresser, I always seem to find the crummiest ones in Sydney :(

That food looks super-yummy too. I wish they had more of a selection of Japanese food near me… All we have is a hibachi restaurant, bleh :(

how do you style your hair like that?
i’ve always wanted to do that to my hair but i have no idea how. :(

Curling iron. I think it’s a 1 1/4 inch barrel. Curling the layers all in reverse then teasing it a bit & hairspray~~

I love your new hair, it’s so fresh-looking!
I like hair that needs minimal styling and it still look great (without styling).
How did you tell your hairdresser to do your hair?

I just told her I wanted it cut a little past my collarbone and layers around the face.

wow! as i scroll down the page,
I actually expected shorter hair haha
but it looks nice though. it’s good when u can go out without styling the hair.
because it can be bothersome sometimes. esp when you’re not in the mood of styling the hair, right?
I was planning to cut shoulder length hair too, but im not sure if it would really happen because i do love my long hair :/
check this :

:OO I like this a lot! Thank you! I’ve been trying to find some arranges that suit my length & layers better. The most popular style right now it the heavier bottom cut so it doesn’t match up to my cut too well. This one seems to though~ Gonna try it!

Your hair looks great Long hair can often look really flat can’t it? My hair is naturally curly so I can get away with being lazy and not styling it - I am so crap with my hair, I literally wash it and that’s it! I think a few inches off the length always makes it look better

I’ve wanted those kinds of bangs, lately, but I couldn’t take hair from anywhere else (if that makes sense). I need to start eating more fish or something so that my hair can be healthier and thicker, haha.

It’s always nice to make a change, huh?

Oh, before I thought that your hair was the perfect look for you, but now it looks SO much better =D
Really Beautiful! Coco looks so lovely with the shorter hair, somehow it makes her look a bit indie to me ;P I always wonder if I should cut my hair like… really short (sort of like coco) because I really like the way it looks when curled, but I really couldn’t stand to loose my 35 inches x__X Also it might be a problem since my artistic name inside my band is Rapunzelle =P Sort of wouldn’t fit anymore
Wah, the food looks so delicious! Unfaiiir~ Near my home (Bavaria, Germany) there’s only one Asian Restaurant (Chinese) and the owner’s daughter happened to be in class with me when we were younger… and somehow came to hate me xD I’m too scared of saliva in my food to go there to eat =P

August 21, 2009 @ 3:07 pm

Oooh, It looks sooo cute, and the “curly” style suits you really good!! (*´▽`*) I know how you feel. I remember when I had my hair shorter… it felt so fresh and bouncy, ヽ(;▽;)ノ it made me feel like a new person every time I got a haircut. Maybe I should think about getting it cut. (。・д・。)

You look great! Your stylist did an excellent job with the layering (as seen from the back). I wish I could have such good luck at a hair salon. I never liked any of the cuts I’ve got. LOL, or maybe I’m just picky?

I love how your hair just bounces up and feel so clean after you get it cut! My hair is so heavy and thick, it feels like dropping 5 lbs when I get a trim, haha

I like your striped shirt!

I love your new haircut! It looks so cute on you! It’s good that you’re able to find magazines near where you are. In my city, the new magazines are about $20-30 dollars each! That’s triple the original price.

I often get like that too! I don’t know what it is, but I just feel like I need /some/ change in my life, and so I often end up cutting my hair (since that’s the most controllable/least reckless thing to do! lol) I thought your long hair was pretty, but this new cut is really cute, too. And of course the less time it takes in the morning the better! b lol Those pics from eating out made me so hungry!!

That is definitely a cute haircut! It’s always such a big decision to cut my hair, I’m never sure what would look good, so I always put it off until it’s too messy to handle. I especially like your bangs! I’m almost inspired to try something like that myself!

hei !

I am sorry to poke you on a old entry but I have been wondering for some time now, you said your hair was straight? mine is also flat straight like… something straight. On the unstyled shot you have the ends curling inwards~ curled or natural arch?

Curled with a big barrel brush & hair dryer at the salon . She always styles my hair after she cuts it!
