Back from New York!

Monday, April 12th, 2010 | 63 Comments

I’m back I’m back~
Twas too short! Hahahahahaaaa! It’s back to work for me and everything. DONOTWANT

I figured I’d just do a big photo dump? I know that’s a bit lazy but I have a lot to still do tonight. I’ve yet to fully unpack even let alone do my dirty laundry.

Everything was great! The weather was pretty fantastic, though very chilly Saturday morning. Walked a tons, bought a little, saw the Statue of Liberty, ate nothing but pizza (no, seriously.) Mike’s a huge pizza fan so we did a sorta self-made “Pizza Tour” that included Lombardi’s and Famous Original Ray’s.

Our hotel was FANTASTIC!!! Ace Hotel, worth it! It was borderline too cool for school but at the same time just cool enough to not induce my gag reflex, haahaaa! Everything was black and off white with giant block typography everywhere. There was a photo booth in the lounge, and at night the freakin’ bar is so popular there’s a doorman turning away non-guests. WTF, I’ve never seen non-guests flock to a hotel’s bar, haahaaaaa. *was surprised* It was basically like sleeping in a more sophisticated Urban Outfitter’s. It was a small room but bunk beds are beyond entertaining as an adult, hahaa! There was a nice radio in the room along with a mounted flat screen (which we never even watched.) Also the rooms are pretty damn quite. And the location was really fantastic. Just a few blocks from midtown.

And yes, we took photo booth pictures of course! I still need to take a few snaps of the few things I did bring back with me but I’ve been dead.

I’ll start with the hotel I guess in pictures!! :haha:

Enjoying a cocktail in the hotel lounge

The front desk. Even during the day it’s still fairly dark in here

The lounge & bar area. Very dim lighting! Any girl is seen as beautiful in this lighting! So many candles too

The “Rations” box has a mini-fridge in it!

Bathroom door behind me. Yes, it has a glass window with a curtain on it

Weeeeee the ceiling was pretty & simple, I dunno, I liked it!

My FAVORITE photo of the whole trip! I didn’t realize a certain someone was doing a totally pro job at photobombing my picture!!! HAHAAAHAHAAA! He’s like strolling away behind me wtf!

Anyone else watch Project Runway/Models of the Runway??? I’ve only watched Models of the Runway this season and this is where they put them up. Probably the designers too? Maybe not, I don’t know, I don’t care. I thought it was funny I saw it though.

Absolutely gorgeous skies on Saturday~

OMG DC never gets awesome bus ads like these!
Ours are all government jobs and computer security related *cries*

Did make it to Topshop but all they had for boater’s hats were these large brim versions.

ANNA SUI!!
I didn’t plan to stop here but we were close by so we did! I FREAKIN’ LOVED THIS STORE!! Better than I expected :good: This one staffer was sooooooo cute and kept complimenting me and helping me I just wanted to be like, “OMG *FALLS OVER SELF* YOU’RE SO NICE I’LL BUY EVERYTHING!”
I bought a pair of stockings and a super pink blush

I tried on some t-shirts but was able to hold back from buying them despite them having kittehs on em~~~

Like I said, PIZZA TOUR!
This is at Lombardi’s, America’s first pizzeria!

A different pizza elsewhere~ Good pizza but not historic~

PIZZACONE!!!
Mike said this tasted like a 5 star gourmet hot pocket … IN A GOOD WAY! He loved his!

I opted for the “banana flambe’” version which was BEYOND DELICIOUS! I’m not kidding, this thing was AMAZING! The chocolate and banana were toasted just perfect for the rich caramelized taste on top with warm gooey chocolate & banana pieces inside!

At the Nintendo World Store

Doctor Who shirt at the NBC Store. I bought a House MD lanyard here *pic later.* It’s lol’tastic that NBC store sells merchandise from other networks because Universal owns the rights to the DVDs thus merchandise… or something like that… haahaaaa

A very late night smoothie. I’m as tired as I look, hahahaaa

Final day. I gave up on hair & make because I’m tired and my feet are swollen… yay, but it was a good day too!

I have a new camera. I’m pretty happy with how most the pictures came out even though I’m not 100% familiar with testing all the settings yet. However, Mike wasn’t quite as skilled with it yet. Majority of photos he took (mostly of me) came out blurry beyond recognition. It was hard to sorta show him what he was doing wrong without sounding like a bitch about it. He’s not really into taking photos, ya know. I was of course extremely disappointed, but it’s not his fault =_=;;;. Hopefully he’ll get a hang of of the new camera in the coming weeks, months, yeeeeeeears~~~~

Already went and came back and I didn’t know, I guess it shows how MIA I’ve been D:! Awww, everything looks amazing. Was your hotel pretty close to everything? My friends and I are looking to do a trip to America in a year or two and I was checking out some hotels and found some decent ones in Soho. I should definitely ask you more about NYC when the date comes closer but from your photos it looks so funnnnnnnn~ I wanna go now!

You like doctor who!! I love doctor who!! I am a total nerd for all things doctor!! I did’t know there where international fans I mean I know it s big i Britain where I am from but I thought the spin off torchwood was more popular in america than doctor who!!

jenny said
April 13, 2010 @ 9:46 pm

DOCTOR WHO OBSESSED, RIGHT HERE!!!!! Actually, yea, DW is more popular than Torchwood was here. Mainly because Doctor Who ended up on 2 cable networks here (BBC America, and Sci-Fi) so I think it had a lot of coverage. While Torchwood was only on BBC America which many people have to have Upgraded cable packages to get. (which I do, thank my lucky stars!)

Oh Torchwood~~ … or as I like to call it “Touch” wood, bwahahahahaa
