Front Braid Scan

Tuesday, July 20th, 2010 | 53 Comments

Well I’m never going onto my balcony without my phone again!
Went out to water the flowers today and the door f*cked up and locked me out!
I had to wait for an hour in 92°F heat until Mike got home from work!
He saw me and jokingly said “you locked out huh!” When I responded with an honest & whiny “yeeeeeeeeeeeees…” he couldn’t believe it! Haahaaa~

Lesson-learned

I just laid down on the bench & listened to community gossip going on in the streets below… and the cicadas. Lovely cicadas. And an ice cream truck playing Christmas jingles.

I scanned this in from Aug Popteen. It’s how I’ve been wearing my hair nearly every day lately. Braided front bang! Sorry the quality sucks. The hair arranges were on non-glossy, matte paper which scans in crappily.

Funnily enough someone at work today asked if I dyed my hair darker??!! And just after I posted the hair dyes… strange….

I stopped using the John Frieda “Sheer Blonde” shampoo + conditioner about a month or so ago. Maybe it’s starting to look more dull & less golden now because of that, LOL

I switched to the John Frieda Root Awakening shampoo + conditioner and was unimpressed. So I bought Shiseido’s Tsubaki stuff again, LOL. It’s been a while since I’ve used it and I’ve always been happy with it… cept the price, LOL.

I finally broke down & ordered a subscription for Popteen & PopSister last week~~
Had to buy Aug Popteen & Sept PopSister on ebay (which is buttr*pe price OMFG…

The situation with my bookstore “moving” the subscriptions was too confusing. I was really worried about paying for them & then having them being accidentally put up for sale because it didn’t seem like everyone was “in the loop.” I dunno.

Actually they’re last day is this week??? And I haven’t been refunded for the remainder of my subscriptions yet. *sinking feeling* :F

I trust them, they’re really honest. I’m just concerned/confused….

Anyway.

I went back to fujisan.com! I used them when I lived in Mississippi. They didn’t have PopSister so I asked them if they thought they’d get it in. And the same day they added it to their list!

So you can now order both Popteen & PopSister from them!

Actually, the company behind fujisan’s magazines is the same that sent magazines to the local bookstore LOL.

In the end they ended up getting money one way or another!

POPSISTER!

Anywho~~ how bout some more coordinate spams (not from me, of course, LOL)…

These are all from Kaorun’s CROOZ Blog.
She’s a 22 year old store clerk who posts lots of WC item’ed coordinates!

I hate locking myself out. I had to crawl in through a tiny window into my house the other day (in high heels and a dress haha)… and ended up with a series of nice looking bruises.

I love the braided bangs. Evey time my fringe starts getting to long I wear them like that.

That’s awful!! Haahaa! I just hated being locked out on my balcony 2 stories up with only 1 entry point *fail.*

Aww…poor thing! But yeah, at least you had the calming sound of the cicadas. (It’s just not summer without them, right?? lol too much Japan influence… Front braid is adorable! Just got a trim today, but when they grow out a little more, I’ll try it too! Damn, hope you get your subscription fuss all straightened out! They at least need to refund you!! ‘ - ‘ ;;

Ah, reading this reminded me I need to find the receipt to my subscriptions.

Yea, here late summer is when the cicadas come out~ I grew up with them being all summer long in MS but in DC it’s only about 1~2 months of them, sadly.

Oooh, I should look into getting a subscription of Popsister through fujisan.com,
if my bookstore won’t carry them!
I’ve been waiting to see if they’d get it, but so far no luck… -o-;;

Ah! I haven’t read my aug issue of popsister yet!
*runs to find it*
Too bad my bangs are too short to braid though! Drats..!

Haha, my friends and I were ALL locked out of my house one time a few years ago…
(All there to practice for some dance choreography for gym-class)
We had to run all the way down my street to anothers friend house to wait until my mom got home…!
It was funny though! ^^b

Hmmm I haven’t seen the braided front bang before. Looks interesting.

Hopefully you didn’t get sunburn from sitting out too long in the heat.

i’ve tried braiding my bangs like that when it was longer but i’m just so bad at it lol! i have to use the tsubaki conditioner. everything else just doesn’t seem to make my hair soft.

Omg Kaorun’s style is so cool. I REALLY want some WC stuff now . I’m just loving those overalls! Does WC make short overalls now too? It’s so cute!

jenny said
July 22, 2010 @ 9:17 pm

I think girls are cutting the overalls into skirts. It sounded like from her entry a friend did it or something? I’ve seen it on another girl too but doesn’t seem like they’re being sold that way LOL. I think girls are cutting them so they can wear them in summer, haahaa, I dunno

ahh i remember the time i got locked out when i was little.
very bad experience indeed especially when you’re in a hospital :(

i tried braiding my bangs a few times. but i never have the courage to wear it out.
i don’t really like my forehead or maybe it’s coz i’m too used to myself with bangs and without it i’ll always feel like there’s something missing.

but Jenny you on the other hand look gorgeous with bangs or braided bangs =D

jenny said
July 22, 2010 @ 9:21 pm

Aw you’re nice to say that~~ I sorta still feel paranoid without bangs but someone at work said it was nice to “see my face” and I blurted out “you mean my giant forehead!” LOL

i cant seem to braid my bangs right.. it always comes out with really small braids… do you have the same problem too? or is it just me ^^

jenny said
July 22, 2010 @ 9:23 pm

It depends on your hair thickness basically. This girl has extensions so she’s able to get a thicker braid in front =Y

Aww that sucks about getting locked out! My grandma locked me out of the house the other day when I was at the pool. It was 95+ out x_x Luckily I had a spare key outside *phew!*

Thanks for the Fujisan link!

I’m sorry to hear you locked yourself out! Its happy to me before, by my own doing and once when I a kid because my dad was asleep and wouldn’t open the door. I knew how to break into that house so I didn’t have to get stuck outside. And at my current place in MN I have a garage key. One time the key was missing (my fault) and my mom locked herself out. She actually broke the door down instead of calling a lock smith…now the door doesn’t close quite properly…^^;; haha!

Thank you for sharing the Kaorun spam! She modified the tiger shirt into a crop tee….inspiration… I guess I’ll have to go back to W*C soon!

July 21, 2010 @ 12:17 pm

hi hi!!!

i love reading ur blog!!! thank you for posting up the link to fujisan.com, i live in canada and its so hard trying to find a shop that carries Japanese mags.

i found a shop in my chinatown that carries like 3 brands of jap mags, and i saw a popteen cover so i bought it. *FAIL* i totally failed to notice that it was translated into CHINESE!!! it had less pages than the real popteen bcuz my friend had came back from Japan and brought mags with her and she said there were alot of missing pages! GAHHH -__-

so THANK YOU so so so much for letting us (deprived) ppl know about this site!!!

um… just a little question tho, on the site wen u order, it says ‘amount’. does that mean number of months? or subscription years?
O__o

Thanks!!!

jenny said
July 22, 2010 @ 9:25 pm

Well thanks for visiting my blog! Glad I could help. The numbers are for magazine amount (issue number.) When you buy 1 you’re basically subscribing until you email them that you no longer want to subscribe. They charge each month as they ship out the magazine (and not all at once upfront.)

Hope that helps!

July 22, 2010 @ 11:59 pm

Yes that helped ALOT!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!!

Hello Jenny!
Thank you so much for the braid scan! LOL, everything about that braid makes sense to me now xD Anyways, I noticed your tweet about pamprin. I have horrible PMS D; I have pounding head aches, cramps, and worst of all nausea. I find that taking ibuprofen/midol/pamprin a week or two before my cycle reduces/stops my pms symptoms! I know you didn’t ask for any advice, but I just wanted to put this out there because I know how miserable a cycle can make a girl! I hope I didn’t offend you by making this comment ;_;

jenny said
July 22, 2010 @ 9:27 pm

I think you’re really nice and I appreciate you commenting that here & for your concern! I’ve never tried that, but I’ll be sure to try it next month since it couldn’t hurt! Usually my cramps aren’t so bad but the past few times they’ve been bad :(

Do you take like 1 a day for a week before?

July 23, 2010 @ 12:34 am

You should take it once a day the week before :3

ohh~~ i want to try that tutorial some time..

ALSO… is the weather REALLLYYYYYYYY that bad?? I’m scared to live in the south a little bit.. Is it SUPER humid??

I feel like it’s going to be a complete culture shock because I have only lived in CA and MA… o__o

help meee!!! nuuu ;__;

jenny said
July 22, 2010 @ 9:32 pm

I wish I could sugar coat this… but yeah, the humidity is BAD. Like wall of water bad. But on the flip side winter’s are so mild you can wear flip flops year round.

As for culture shock it depends on where you move as to how “shocking” it’ll be. The coastal area will be the least amount of shock. It’s the better place to live (LOL coming from a Mississippi Gulf Coast girl.) If you’re moving to a bigger city (lol I use the word ‘bigger’ generously) it shouldn’t be too, too different, but if you’re moving out to the sticks it’s gonna probably be REALLY different from what you’re used to.

Basically… it’s different. It’s as different as everybody says it is. But if you have internet you’ll be fine, people are genuinely nicer in the south and you’ll find people to connect with. You’ll be OK *pat pat*
