OK OK OKaaaaay so I’ve been sporadically having fits about the new Shu Uemura Holiday Collection featureing Aya Takano on twitter & tumblr, so I’m finally bringing it to my blog, ha!
Last Christmas I had the same fits due to their holiday collection being a team up with Tsumori Chisato and ended up snagging that kitteh mirror! I actually carry this mirror with me in my “daily makeup” bag to work every day. :D

This year’s match up with Aya Takano is even better I think! :girlrage: I knew her work from Zipper magazine. She used to do these calendar pages in the back of each issue and they were so beautiful with the half naked, blushing girls and heart breaking scenes.
Here are a few examples I had scanned in from the Zipper calendar art.
So here’s the collection! It includes two GORGEOUS :twinklepink: eyeshadow/blush palettes, a blush tint, some sparkle eyeliner “crayons,” a brush set, lip glosses, face cleanser, and 2 sets of lashes.

I went ahead and ordered the bowwow! magic queen palette this weekend. I remember last year by early December everything was sold out on the official website!!! >O Mike ended up surprising me with the mirror because he actually found it still for sale at Barney’s! HOWEVER! Since this past July Shu Uemura has pulled out of the US market except for their Official US Webstore. There’s rumors of that eventually closing down too. I feel like this might be my last chance at one of their holiday collection palettes.
Though I’m glad I waited. I think the colors on this year’s palettes are slightly better than on the Tsumori Chisato collection. :faceaha: I had a REALLY HARD TIME choosing between the bowwow! magic queen palette and the reindeer kiss xxxx palette. I was initially drawn to the cooler colored palette reindeer kiss one first! :upheart: It screams winter to me! The frosty colors and bright pink cheek. But in actuality, wearing minty green & blue isn’t an easy day-to-day look. Well for me, in my mind, at the office.:eep::smallcry: :F I really loved the warmer colored bowwow! one too and it seemed a tad more practical and I felt I would actually use it MORE. Like, every day all season long!
And derpderpderp I wanted the lashes first and foremost!!!!!! Hahaaha, they come all whispy with glittery stickers to put on them! Too cute! :iiface: But, um, yea, cost X’s practicality… I went with a makeup palette :)

Oh my goodness! *A* before your post, I have never really been interested in make-up other than foundation, concealer, and mascara. I have now been officially sucked into a new area of make-up! These products are gorgeous! :’D

I LOVE THIS, I love aya Panda is CONVINCED that she’s saying something REALLY dirty in that video. AYA is LOVE I loved her since high school, can’t remember how we crossed paths tho…:D I cant wait for this, I think its better as well…

I’m slightly obsessed with this collection too! Both of the palettes are so cute, I really can’t choose. I’m slightly biased towards the reindeer palette because of the tealy colours that I don’t have in my collection already but the browns in the queen palette are also lovely~ The eyelashes are so precious! But if I purchase them I’d be too hesitant to use them cause they’re so cute and I wouldn’t want to wreck them :( I also really love the blush tint and the lip duo tint & gloss. Oh gosh I just spazzed my whole comment XD

OMGGGGGG! There used to be a Shu Uemura store at the upscale mall where I live, but it shut down since she took her stores out of the US. :((( If it was still there I would make a run and grab those palettes. And those lashes!! They look so cute, but I probably wouldn’t have a reason or place to wear them hahhaha…

OMG, I absolutely loooove those! All og those things are so pretty and I would buy it all!! Ah, why is there no Shu Uemura in Poland?!?! Tsumori Chisato is also fabulous, but the newest collection stole my heart!

You know what is a crazy coincidence?? Takeshi Murakami’s translator, Mayumi, takes classes at the museum I work for! We met in a class and she knows Takano and all the girls at KaiKai Kiki – WHOA! She gave me a calendar with her work from 2008, if I can find it I’ll send you a print of Takano’s!
I wonder if you could make the lashes with some creative sticker-ing??

welll shizzzz. you just sold me!!! Now I want that palette more than anything!!! Actually I want lots of holiday make up palettes (the Mac Tartan collection looks swell too) and you’re right, you do end up using them year round which makes a definitely worthy investment!

Ahmygawad, those false eyelashes are SO CUTE and PRETTY!! :) But they are a bit too expensive for a pair of false lashes. I actually think you can even customize your own eyelash by just going to buy some glitter and sticker decorations from the dollar store. I’m not quite sure if these false lashes is worth the money when it looks like something that can be simply made, lol.

I’ve recently become a fan of Takano Aya. :) The designs are really cute! And there’s something very meaningful and sometimes kinda sexual in them, too. I like how it’s so multi-faceted. The make products are also cute but, ah, too $$$ for me. D:

Long time lurker, but I figured I’d stop being creepy and post something because I am so excited that you mentioned this collection! Last winter I spent my junior year in Hong Kong and had to visit every Shu Uemura store I passed because I was obsessed with the Tsumori Chisato collection. Being a poor college student I could buy nothing, but I think I like this years colors more and now that I know the online store is still open (which never occurred to me) I will definitely be getting something from the Aya Takano collection.
Please review the bowwow! palette when it arrives.

Love Aya Takano’s work, she’s one of my many favorite artist. This collection is so nice and I like the colors in the set that you got. I wanted to get the blush tint but I’m too scared it’s going to be too pink hehe. It’s so tempting to buy something.

I’m so glad we still have Shu in our city ^-^ I gravitated toward Reindeer Kiss too but I cannot pull off blue eyeshadows even if my life depends on it. lol. I wanna splurge on a the lashes!!

Ohmigod THIS is the first time I’ve heard about Shu Uemura exiting the US market! I went to my local department store and bought a few products from the Shu Uemura counter last Fall and have been meaning to return, since I lost my eyelash curler in L.A. I’ve been so out of the loop on so many things!

holy crap that make up is amazing!! why did you post about it? ;O; now I totally want some.. I like Takano’s collection a little better than Chisato, but I really like the natural look they used in combo with the lashes! it looks so much better than the heavier gal looks with lashes…
